12/16/06 10-day holiday cruise Part 3

Boy, you kiddos were busy last night!

I'm not discussing weight loss--I'm just sure that several pounds will drop off over Thanksgiving break and my clothes will fit great! So we're set on the shirts, right? Dee, just let us know where/when we can order.

I am clueless about making signs. Haven't even begun to think about it...was just in the process of discovering what they were this week... They're very cute, I'd love to try one, but all of the technical jargon is over my head We can't all be "multi-lingual" like Jen.... I can do basic things on the computer, but don't have the Adobe, etc. May have to go snag some of those Mickey paint chips and try that idea... Look at it this way..if my signs aren't too beautiful, I won't be making all of my new, creative Disboards friends green with envy!

How many people are going to bring a Christmas tree? I found one yestereday at Lowes that's kinda cheesy and cute, one of those small fiber optic things, but then I found a 'half' tree that looks so much nicer. It's flat on the back side so doesn't take up as much space. Thought I would put it on the big 'trunk' they have in the rooms. I'm soooo getting into picking up things now that they are beginning to sell them in the stores.

I hate to rush holidays but I wanna buy things for the cruise!!

I'll have to put lights on it since it doesn't have any but it just seems so much nicer than the other one I bought.

13.5 down from the top is a circular door marker that you ought to make allowances for...it has a 7.5 diameter.
The door assembly is 35.25 down from the top and is 9.5 tall. It extends from the edge 4.5.

I plan on contacting Shirley and asking if she's going to have the same tree she had for the 04 cruise -- it was a beautiful table-top tree that came with all the decorations on it...I can let you know when I hear from her!

Wow! I was jus tlooking for the size of the number marker so I would know how big to make the opening on the sign!

I cannot remove the existing names on the sign that was posted so I am going to have to look at doing something else if I want to do one of those .

We don't have steamer trunk in our room so we are just going to use the Christmas tree gel window cling I found last year. I will put it on the mirror over the desk so presents can go on the desk beneath the tree. I have a Santa one too. I think he will go on the window.

We are so excited to be going on Disney's Holiday cruise. We are sooo crazy we have Tivoed everything on Travel channel on Disney cruising and watch it every weekend for our cruise injection.

I see that some of you are on the 5th floor with us AND have teens! Both my kids are very excited. They start dive lessons Tuesday so they can dive in the islands. I can't imagine diving in Puget Sound in November but I can imagine it in the islands.

Angela I am also going to make my Mickie ears look like baloons...seems to be a popular way.
I am making a few signs but the first that is almost done is a picture of the Magic(in the water) that I took from the boat that brought us to shore with a big Santa Clause standing on it..and other christmas things and our mames and a christmas greeting with the date of our cruise...
I am making our Christmas cards with the same design so anyone that gets a card passing by will know that it is our room and also for you guys who dont come by my room still can see one of my signs. I am also going to put Red Mickey ears on the door where the cabin # is 4 and Home depot Mickey chips with our name and bunches of Christmas Disney caracters that the kids will help me with.
I asked Michael(10 yo DS) if he wanted to make his own design of christmas cards for his friends and he said yes so we may do that also.
I am also not a comp. wiz as you Jen but I do have a photoshop that came with both my comp. so that helps although sure I could purchase better. If I dident have that than would have just used paint and markers and such to do one. Many people I have talked to do that also.
So is this long enough....lol

But you forgot the third (and my favorite) option....SHOP! Of course, choosing that one too often will get one into trouble....

I am choosing that option this afternoon. We already put out our pansies for Fall and Winter today. We've had extra boys running amuck since last night, teenagers through nine year olds, and the Falcons football game is on, which gets them extra wound up!

Time for mom to escape! I'm going in search of a book about crazy teenagers, I think! And a copy of The Great Gatsby for my oldest teen's Lit class. And sign inspiration.....
