OK, let's see how small the world really is--what part of Atlanta were you living in when your child was born at Northside? We were sorta in Alpharetta--East of 400.

OK--Close enough! We were at the Old Milton exit (was it called that back then?) Anyhow, exactly 3 exits up--I know because I worked at an office near Holcomb Bridge and 400 until DS10 was born!

What do you mean? It depends what you're looking for. We book your stateroom but we don't get priority on booking excursions -- you'd still be subjected to the 75 day rule. We take care of the leg work, and, depending on your preferences, can book air-inclusive or separate air, remind you when payments are due, apply payment if you do it over time...depending on the cruise, a TA may have group rates for staterooms if they reserved a whole bunch in advance for their clients. In that case, you can benefit from a lower rate (DU has a list on their site of special rates for specific sailings). A TA can also help with the land portion (for example, if you're staying at WDW before / after the cruise). It really depends on what you want and how much you like (or dislike) doing it all on your own.

That's a long drive!!! there is no way i could spent 22 hours without using a computer and internet...driving down the road makes it really hard to get access unless you have like verizon's broadband...

Yes it is long - I keep trying to tell my husband that he needs to get satellite computer access in the car - apparently it is available but very expensive.

I think being the passenger is the busiest spot in the car - mommy this and mommy that - Last time we drove I must have had to re -read one chapter in my book at least 2 times-

The drive is beautiful as long as it does not snow - then you have a very upset, anxious, type A personality who hasn't had chocolate and is likely PMS'sing stuck in a car that is going nowhere fast

I don't envy you at all, Denise. There is NO way I'd do that drive! I hate long car trips as it is and in the winter they are even worse. Anymore I don't even like long plane trips, ugh. I wish they'd get the teleporter invented!

yes it's very expensive...the government agencies use it and even they use it sparingly lol...if you get like the Verizon broadband adapter (if you have verizon services) you can get broadband wherever there is Verizon signal

Dee - I didn't know you were a TA. I was just wondering. My in-laws walked into AAA in January and said we want to book the christmas cruise for 16. Our TA seemed shocked and surprised that I know about the DISBoard and Cruise Critic and that I have been chatting with you guys about my questions. She seems to have very limited experience with Disney. Thank goodness we have you guys!!

Your TA should maybe do the College of Disney Knowledge, especially working for AAA. They pride themselves on being Disney Specialsts. At least our branch here does...

lol...we book through DCL...its easier for us

Easier for me also...One year I went through a TA as a favor for a friend and it drove me crazy because everytime I had a question I could not get it answered by DCL direct(because I booked through a TA). I had to call my TA with the question and than my TA had to call DCL, ask my question than she would have to call me back. Well I always have a lot of questions so I drove my poor TA crazy, lol. It is so easy to do it yourself. However if it was my first cruise I would definatly go through a TA.
I have found that there are not many TA familure with DCL as for say Carnival, So if I ever have to book a DC through a TA I will have to use Dee47 because she understands the DCL.
