Snow...what's snow :confused3

So many comments to address:

I'll take credit for being ONE of the reasons the rum is always gone--but I'll try to save some from you all when we're sailing! :rotfl:

I'm not sure my teenagers would be into the posting...teenage boys being teenage boys... :cool2: but I'll let them know about it. DS10 would probably really enjoy posting, so let me know if something gets going. He will talk to girls--never went through the "cootie" phase.

And Jen, I was surprised when I figured out earlier you were in college. You certainly have it together, starting this thread and organizing everyone like you have! Where in NC do you go to school? (I assume that's why you are there now.) My 16 year old thinks he might like to go to Duke. We'll see....

I can't wait either..I have been so busy with helping my 7th and 5th grader with their homework...7th grader has TONS this year and being on 2 PTA's and room parent in Elementary and also Lead parent for Middle school that involves being 2nd to the Dean and my job to get all volunteers for all events and helping the Dean plan them. Also incharge of 5ht grade graduation and so much more...not to mention in charge of my house hold. I worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse for 22 years and let me tell you I am busier know as a Stay at home mom then I was than. Not complaining mind you I love what I do or would not volunteer year after year to do it :) Just ready for a break but more from house stuff like that never ending laundry that seems to multiply day after day lol. :laundy:
It will be nice to have people take care of me....right!!!! :) Don't misunderstand my DH is very helpfull, he is a good DH :thumbsup2

Keith started one a ways back but was bad at keeping up, and few kids participated. The thread is http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=881173 if anyone wants to pick it up again.

Hi Dee,
Was thinking that if Keith started a new thread with the same as this one like"

you can get the mods to really censor it too...for example i can post alot of nasty stuff here if i wanted too...you can get them to up it so that even the word poop would be censored

Wow! Sounds like you have your hands full!!! I thought I was busy working full time, helping deal with my invalid mother, taking care of my DD10 and my DH and trying to relax once in a while! (Hah, like that last one ever happens!). I think we are definitely going to have to plan a ladies' night out on this cruise, what do you say ladies???? :goodvibes No one has to drive so lots of rum drinks all around!!!

Always in the mood for a "Ladies night out"...I plan first day on the cruise going and having the "Martini Flight" before take off...they give you 5 different flavored Martinis for $15.00. They also have beer and foo foo drinks for flight also. I don't drink much but this is fun even if I don't drink them all. My DH laughs at me because I drink maby 3 times a year and one glass of wine will do me in.lol. But hay...I'm on vacation. :)

I would LOVE a ladies' night out!!!!

Jen, how do you get a thread extra-moderated???

Well it has been a while since I got back from the 10-Day Southern and I said I would give a report, but I just can't figure out where to start. So I decided that I will have to do it in bits and pieces. Since there has been so much discussion about the Brig Unicorn, I thought I would start there. The excursion was already full by the time we booked the cruise, so I went to the Excursion Desk about 10 minutes before it was due to open (at 1:00), and they were just opening up the computers. They said there were six spots open, so I determined that they do in fact keep a few back for on-board booking (for those of you who are still hopeful).

We boarded the Brig just a short walk from the dock. Here is Bryan just before we got on:

The ship was a lot smaller than I expected, and was not all that pirate themed. They had tattoos for the kids and rum punch. Anyone who wanted was allowed to steer the ship, so Bryan got in line. Everyone got about one minute to steer, but there was no one in line behind Bryan so they let him keep steering (while standing behind and telling him what to do) for awhile.

As we approached Pigeon Island, we were "shot at" from Fort Rodney, I think by this guy:

The kids were allowed to line up to shoot the cannon of they wanted to shoot back. The people on the ship said we would have two hours on the island, but when we got there the people on the island said one hour. There was a scavenger hunt to find a few items, including a key that would unlock a chest back on the ship (containing a certificate for Diamonds International). DH found a voucher for a poster. Then we hiked up to Fort Rodney. Here is me after climbing almost to the top:

We got back to the pier and were told that we were supposed to have had two hours, so the ship would not be back for awhile but they said about 15 minutes so we did not take time to explore any more of the island. It was almost another hour before the ship came back, so we feel that a lot of our time was wasted. This picture of the ship is taken from Fort Rodney:

On the way back, it was fun to watch the crew working with the sails. Here is a picture of one guy, as we were approaching the Wonder:

All in all, it was fun but I would say don't feel bad if you miss it. I have spent some time watching both POC movies trying to identify scenes containing the Brig. I think at least parts of the opening scene in the first movie, when Elizabeth finds Will floating in the water, was on the Brig, and in the second movie when they find Elizabeth's dress. There are bits and pieces of other scenes that I think I can identify, but I am not sure.

That's it for now. I will try to post more later.

Karylrocks,Is there a bathroom( Head) on the Brig Unicorn?

I did not see or use it, but there is a bathroom on the Brig. They said it would take "human waste only", so toilet paper has to be thrown in the trash.

:) Thanks....you know kids they always have to go the bathroom when they know that they can't. If they know there is a head than they won't need it...you know how that works..lol

I LOVE your shirt Carol!!!!! Where did you get it??? Can I have one too???? Droooooooooool!!!! (As she sits here in her office with the larger than life sized head shot poster of Jack Sparrow!!!) :) :sunny: :cloud9:

I have had people at Disneyland ask me where I got my shirt also. DD and I each got one at Torrid a couple of years ago. I have not seen any like it since, sorry!
