good news from the trainer ya'll. Boo is showing promise in reining and pole bending. He says that Boo has a great start on most of the reining moves. She does them naturally. He says she'll be the 25 ft. slider once she gets her sliding plates on. He's going to but baby sliders (shoes wider then normal but not wide like pro horses have) on her and see if she will slide. I am so happy. I am dancing around because I was so afraid that my baby Boo wouldn't be good at anything. It's a relief to know that she may be ready to compete by late spring. World Show here i come!

thanks sue! Now i just have to wait for the World Show entry forms to be posted. I so want to go. My last horse took me to the Quarter Horse Congress (basically the world show) and placed in pole bending all 4 years I took him. I hope Boo will do the same. But as long as she tries her best, that's all i can ask for.

Um, I thought we were on Castaway Cay on Christmas Day and St. Thomas on December 23. That's what my itinerary from DCL says anyway.

Sorry, I meant '04. Yea, this year we are on CC Christmas Day AND we have to pack up. That's worse than having to get up to clear customs on Christmas, IMO. What was DCL thinking? :sad2:

I don't know, but I guess that's the way it works unless they were to have done CC on a different day given the scheduling. Of course, they could have sailed on the 23rd and been gone over Christmas AND New Year's. Now that would have been cool! We would have been on CC on New Year's Day so there would probably be a lot more empty hammocks! Oh well, I am just happy to be going, no matter when.

Kara, funny you should say that. DH said last night that he wants to go to England next (meaning after DCL & Hawaii). So it looks like we'll be going there 2009 or 2010. I would love to go to Ireland.

Good morning all!! Hey, gaRry!!!! where is ya? workin hard, hardly workin? :rolleyes1

We're really excited about going to Ireland. The stop in London is kind of a last minute :rotfl: add because we're stopping to meet up with some of our table mates from the '04 Christmas cruise! We're really looking forward to spending a couple of days with them. DH is very irish in heritage, so we're going to do a little history before we go to make sure we stop in the town his family is from. It's also our 10th anniversary trip!!

Most of our table from the 04 cruise is coming back for this 06 cruise, and we're all going to sit together again since we had such a blast together. And none of them are (gasp!) DISers. I know, but we love them anyway. There will be 8-10 of us. So EXCITED! :goodvibes

Hey, so I was thinking about another "activity" from another cruise that we could consider if we have enough brave men in the group...gaRry?

On the Panama Canal cruise in May, we had a Grass Skirt club on tropical night, but only the men wore them - over shorts or pants, of course. It was so much fun! If I can get him to do it, I will have my DH post the picture of my father and DH in their grass skirts with Captain Thord. Now THAT was hilarious!

Hello Christmas Cruisers!

Our cruise jester, Lampy, had surgery Tuesday to remove a cataract from one of his eyes. He had suffered trauma to the eye years ago that had caused it. Well they put a new lens in and he no longer requires glasses. I spoke with him and the surgery went great. He was really excited. He said he can't play on the computer yet and can't lift anythinhg over 12 fluid ounces. :rotfl2:

Okay, so I'm just a postin' fool today. Question - I know someone just posted the number of days in advance that you can book Southwest airfares...what is that again? I want to mark my calendar. With us bringing SCUBA stuff, we are thinking we will want to have the luxury of three bags per person on the plane instead of the two bag limit.

I'm not very good at leaving stuff at home, you see...

Kara, right now Southwest is only booking flights through June 9 so that isn't even 6 months! Good luck.

Willie, I had cataracts removed from both eyes last January. It is a good thing. I don't remember having a lifting restriction, however. It is so nice to be able to swim and not need glasses to see more than 3 feet in front of me. Now I just need them for anything within 3 feet!

I certainly know some of DH's truckers friends that would cough up big bucks to see him posted on the internet in a grass skirt :rotfl2: . Although not sure it could top the one Denise took of him in her hat at Megan's bay. What a vision :earseek:

Hope Lampy gets better soon. I'd love to be able to ditch my glasses. How can I get me some of them there cataracts????

I think southwest is now 2 bags per person. We flew southwest in october and it was only 2 bags per person. We just took carry-ons, but that's what they said at the counter. With it being a 10 day cruise my family of 4 will bring at least 6 bags. 2 are dive bags the others are just for clothes and stuff.

REALLY?!? Oh, that's a serious bummer...It's hard with only two people. Four checked bags and two carry-ons is not easy when one is a dive bag, one is a bag mostly full of formal/semi-formal wear, and we plan to spend a week at the parks before the cruise, so we have to have clothes for all seasons.

Y'all should have seen us coming off the May Repo cruise. Four adults with 10 or 11 checked bags and the max for carry on too (flew SW on purpose!). :rotfl2: Felt bad for the poor guy behind us in the check-in line. :earseek:

Whew...at least for now. According to Southwest's web site, they still allow three checked bags per person at up to 50 pounds each. So I can still ship some wine out as checked luggage for this trip!

Don't let Lampy hear talk of this. He will start weaving his grass skirt now! Yall know how much he loves to dress up! And I guess this last cruise, I even got talked into it some. But was fun to be a rock star for a few minutes!

Willie

OK, the men will wear grass skirts to dinner one night. But only if the ladies will wear the top half of that outfit- coconut bras!

Deal?

No problemo - but won't they be hard to see under our dress-code worthy dresses or blouses? :rotfl2:

Common Willie, I can already tell you'll look fabulous in a grass skirt!!! :cheer2: My DH and my father did it! I'm still working on getting the pic posted, but I will!

The grass skirt idea is too funny!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Somehow, I don't think that I will be able to talk Chuck into that one!!

Awwwww come on Willie, grass skits and coconut bras? I'm in!!!! :cool1: :cheer2: As a matter of fact I STILL have a grass skirt from a "Hawiian luau (sp?)" that we had at our club house.....The only bad thing is that when we got in the hot tub the "dye" came out of the skirt......and all the water turned green and everyone skin turned green :rotfl2: But as we found out on the Turkeyday sailing clothing was optional in the "signals" hot tub after midnight!!! :earseek:
