12/13 Transportation question - can this be done???

Hi All! I was hoping to get some more opinions around here. We'll be in WDW and hoping to get on the coveted list for the podcast party on 12/13. DH and I had plans to watch our friends' DD to give them a night out alone. I was telling them about this party, and they are really interested. Here's the problem... they have tickets that night for Cirque at the 6pm show. Since the show is 90 minutes, I'm not sure they're going to be able to get from DTD to HS in time. I know we should only sign them up if they absolutely CAN make it, and I don't want to take away a spot from someone else. DH and I don't think they'll have enough time to get there before the turnstiles close. My concern is that 30 minutes won't be enough time, what do you all think? I was just hoping someone has done this specific route before (I never have) and can tell me I'm right or wrong.

I would tend to doubt it. By the time your friends get out of the theater itself, it could be 8:45ish, then even if they got a cab, it would be past park closing by the time they got to the front gates. I don't think 30 mins is enough time to get out of the show and over to DHS.

That's what we were thinking too. We told them they probably won't have enough time, but hey, we'll take their DD with us!! I just didn't want to give them wrong info.
