12/12/10 Podcast cruise 2.0

Hi everyone! What a bunch of jet-setters we all are, lol!

Cannot believe it is almost September. I remember when we booked this cruise (on PCC 1.0) and I thought, gee, that is a lifetime away!!

So I was really down about taking Kimberly out of Middle School for a whole week for this cruise. The school calendar came out last week and I wanted to see what was going on the week we will be away. Don't you know that on Dec 15, 16 & 17 is the 6th grade overnight class trip to Greenkill, NY (an enviornmental park). Kimberly would not be thrilled to sleep in a cabin in the woods in the middle of December to begin with, so her not going on the class trip is a blessing in disguise. In the end, she is only missing 2 school days instead of 5, so I feel MUCH better about taking her out of school.

Em will be missing 6 days. Meh, it's only 2nd grade. :rolleyes1

My thinking exactly! :thumbsup2

Hi, Paul! Heading down to Disney Friday after dropping my DD off at the College Program there 2 weeks ago. Sucks to be me! :rotfl2: How are you doing, btw?

Isabella's missing 5 full days of 2nd also, I didn't give that a second thought, lol.... Bad mommy!!

I can't even tell you how many days my kids missed for vacations - one's on the Dean's List, graduation college in December, and the other's in the CP in Disney - I think they did just fine!

I also hate being told how to raise my kids by people who aren't their parents, but that's another issue! ;)

You should be very proud, you have raised two wonderful young women!

Agreed. We've been pulling Jennie out from time to time for 10 years and she's still an A student (most of the time. :rolleyes1)

Jennie is such a doll

Already, just like old times. :goodvibes:

:grouphug:

Can I play too? I was booked on this cruise but finances and some other medical issues(not mine) cause my vacation days to go a lot faster than I wanted. I just need to live vicariously through you all.

Andrea, how was sauce making today?popcorn::

Whoa!
Is this where we are supposed to be now?

Have we abandoned the 2010 Podcast Cruise sub board of the Podcast board?

Yes, Becky - we would love to have you hang out!

Sauce making was good - I didn't stay the whole time, had to go to work for a few hours. I posted a few pics on Facebook. My parents bought 8 crates of tomatoes, which in the end yielded 150 large mason jars of "sauce". It was so hot today, and I think my parents learned how to do it more efficiently for next year. My mother, sister, and I will split the jars, so about 50 jars each for the year. I make sauce usually once a week, less during the summer, so I'm set for the year. It was so funny to see my girls in aprons hovering over vats of tomatoes, they looked like little old Italian ladies.

Do you have any pictures of the girls? I bet that was so cute.
