I am in love..."deep sigh". :love1: I am in love with the fun we (husband and I, married 30 years) had on board. I am in love with the people that helped make our trip so special. The crew members were more attentive then I remembered from our last Disney cruise 18 mos ago and that was pretty attentive. But more then anything.....I am in love with people again. To see so many different nationalities getting along, laughing and smiling together and just having fun gives me hope. Maybe we should have a big Disney cruise in parts of the world that need to see what it can be like and what it should be like. Heck even at Disney prices it probably would be cheaper then politics!! :rotfl2:

The temperatures at Castaway were a little chilly. Didn't stop us from doing the wave runners. Boy was I scared but thrilled at the same time. The waves were a little high for me being on those little water crafts. We did get off in Nassau on this trip. We did not on our first cruise. Atlantis was nice to see but that's it for us. We saw it, we did it, won't do it again. Our first encounter with the tour guides at the end of the pier was a bit unnerving but we got thru it. Braiders left us alone. I have long hair but am older so I guess no problem with that. However, the taxi drivers can be a bit of a nudge. I didn't feel like listening to them arguing over who was taking our group to Atlantis so we walked away with the first guy that was willing to leave. His van was in good shape and clean. However, our cab driver back didn't say word one to us and her cab reminded me of a car that we had stolen and then returned to us after they tore apart every inch of seats, dash, etc. I hugged my bag very tightly just because I was nervous from the way they drive there. It would of been nice to see one speed limit sign. People crossing there really have to be on their toes or they will be on their nose!! THere isn't one complaint I have about the cruise other then a couple of rude people on board. We had our stuff on chairs by the snorkling area and when we came back, most of our chairs were gone and people decided to put their chairs less then 6 inches in front of ours cause they wanted the view. Mind you we were about two feet from the edge of a rocky overlook. There is always that one family that thinks they are more important then the one before them. But on a whole most people were very courteous of each other.

Even things that you don't think could be fun end up being fun on board. The young man that ran the Bingo game was quite entertaining. His name was Michael and he also leads the Pirate Party on Deck 9 on Pirates Night pirate: . He makes a simple game into a very funny way of losing a few bucks.

I'm not sure what people expect in food. I thought the food on a whole was good. Some things were a little overcooked for me but I'm willing to deal with it. Sure looked like everyone was eating enough. I feel like we ate enough for a month in 4 days. You definitely won't starve.

Great report! My 9 y.o. says he plans to eat the whole time we're on the ship :) He's a puny thing, so he can stand to gain some weight. I told the children that my only food requirement for them on the trip is that they have one healthy food each day. They want to know if :mickeybar counts as healthy food. I say if you're on a Disney cruise, it does!

How great! I can't wait to fall in love with the Wonder in a few months  Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Wow is all I can say...Your post was great. It put a big :) on my face. It was "wonderful" to read.... Enjoy your day. :goodvibes

We were on this cruise as well. We really enjoyed Michael's Bingo. We went to one session and were in the internet cafe when he was running another. I felt like he truly made it fun for everyone. He wanted you to make a little noise and have some serious fun.

We were lucky - didn't see too much rudeness. There were a few abrupt folks that we didn't care for, but for the most part we chalked it up to different ways of relating to others. We were impressed at how well the many parents handled their children. My wife and I both remarked at the nice group of parents and children on the cruise (we were also at a late seating, so maybe that had something to do with it, too ;) )

Oh, and we'd agree with you on the food. We thought it was excellent. Our rotation was Parrot Cay, Trintons, Tritons, Animator's Palate. We substituted the second Triton's night for Palo. We felt the food was quite good at all restaurants, and actually enjoyed the food at Parrot Cay a bit more than at Triton's or Animator's Palate.

Our only real disappointment was the food at AP. It was not because it was bad, but we had eaten at Palo the night before, and followed that up with a brunch. I doubt anything can rival that experience.

We largely took the server's recommendations unless there was something we really, really wanted to try. I don't recall going away unhappy from any meal.

Having a veteran server (Lisa Maree was ours) and assistant server (Dee) really made us happy. :cool1:

So we were in bingo together, had the same dinner rotation as well. The only thing was we did Palo's our first night of Tritons. We also weren't crazy about AP. Thought the food was ok. My husband had the veal chop and said it was very fatty. My steak was dry but the rest was good. Overall we had a blast and booked our 7 day for 4/07. Can't wait. Glad you had a great time. Back to the cold weather of the NE now. BLEH!

Thanks so much for posting your trip report!

We're not doing much in Nassau. We were planning on taking a cab to Atlantis, but I'm scared of the taxi drivers. Do you think any will kidnap us and rob us? My husband wants to gamble in the casino, but I'm worried about having money on us.

We just got home from 6 days at Saratoga Springs followed by the 3 night DCL on the wonder................It was a nice trip and we had no issues with the Cab Drivers............we all went to Atlantis to scout it out...............nice place in the Royal Towers section but I would be very teed off if i got stuck in the older section................it is very run down.................The Newer section is beautiful but I think they have to keep up the maintenance much better than they are now or by 2008 the place will fall................the newer construction seems to be where the developer is spending his bucks................THE Cruise was fabulous in terms of relaxation................but i thought the food was very ordinary.

DisTeach1: I doubt you'll ever be "alone" with a cabbie. All cabs I saw were vans and they intended to fill them to the brim before even going from the "negotiation area" to the parking lot. We were like sardines in the one over to Atlantis. When we left there, we came back alone. The driver misunderstood that we wanted to go to the cruise ship dock, and got quite teed off when he went to the water taxi dock and we had to correct him. After that, he never spoke a word and let us off about as far from the dock as he could manage and still be on that street. Just hang on....they drive crazy!

We took the Adastra Zoo & Gardens tour. Loved it, but my goodness, getting there and back was NOT half the fun. Our driver was quite reasonable, but they definitely drive differently in Nassau than here. Even in large cities in the US, I've never seen quite the craziness. They seem to be rather informal (or hazy!) about traffic laws, or perhaps traffic rules are much relaxed. At the end of our tour, our driver offered to drive anyone to Atlantis who wanted to go over (at about $4 a person, I think).

Some folks from our table did go over to Atlantis to see the aquariums. They were veteran cruisers, and they were very complimentary of them.

We actually slept in the morning of Nassau, had a late breakfast, caught Valiant (funny movie) and then went on the tour. DCL had a water vendor where we met. They were suggesting we all buy water.... They forgot to mention that our tour included a free drink at the Zoo. :earsboy:

Thanks for posting your report! Sounds like you had a lot of fun!

As for the rude family - there is always one.....

We've always thought the food was great and the service exceptional. But we have to agree about those veal chops. Never again.

We took a cab/van to Atlantis. This one woman was going to cram about 16 of us in one of those vans when a police officer told her no way and then she argued with him while we went in another one with a lovely family of four. SO there were six of us total. Coming back was different cause it was only the two of us and the woman really didn't want to be bothered but she was called by the hotel for us. I think she wanted more people then just two. The best part was that she charged us more going back then we paid going to Atlantis. She said because she wasn't making any money she was charging us five dollars more. I would of argued it but my husband gave me the look. You know that look, keep your mouth shut and just go along with it. He didn't want any problems for $5. By the looks of her cab she needed the $5 more then we did. We just didn't want to be let out someplace we didn't think we should be wandering around. As far as money for gambling...we had some cash on us but not a lot. I would imagine that Atlantis has somewhere to get cash. Not sure how the ATM's work there. Good luck and hope it works out for you.
