Wednesday 12/11. Cast: dh (34), myself (33), dd1 (8 1/2), dd2 (3 1/2). This was our 5th trip, dd2's 2nd.

Headed to the MK right at opening. Pretty much walked on to everything. Within about 2 hours we rode Mad Tea Party, Pooh, Dumbo, Peter Pan and BMTRR 3 times. Dh and dd1 rode BTMRR the first time with no wait and then dd1 and I rode with no wait at all. We got off, didn't see dh and dd2, so we ran to get on again. This time the wait was about 5 minutes. Went to Tomorrowland because dh and dd1 wanted to ride Space Mountain, but the line was too long. We knew we'd be coming back, so they skipped it. Went to Tony's for lunch. We've eaten at Crystal Palace a few times and love it there, but it was closed and the characters were at Tony's temporarily. The food at Tony's was good, but I wasn't happy with the idea that you pay an all-you-can-eat price but the menu is pretty limited. 2 appetizer choices, 5 main course choices and 2 dessert choices. You pick one of each and can eat as much as you want. But when I eat an all-you-can-eat, I want VARIETY. I like to eat a little of everything. Character interaction was good, though. Tigger, as always, was hysterical. While we were waiting for our table, we browsed in the shop next door. Saw Mary Poppins but then dd2 said, "I see the princesses, I want to go see the princesses!" and there in the back was Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Belle!! There was only 1 other kid there at the time. I guess they were kinda hidden back there. This was dd2's dream come true! I don't know what happened, though, but she would NOT go up to them for a picture! I was heartbroken!! DD1 got her picture taken with them and got her and her sister's autograph books signed (dd2 wouldn't even give them her autograph book). I guess she was awestruck or something, I don't know. She wasn't afraid of any of the other characters, so I'm not sure what happened. After lunch we walked back to the Contemporary, dh ran to the room to get jackets and sweatshirts in case it got cooler at night, and we took the bus to MGM. MGM wasn't very crowded either. Did Little Mermaid, Muppetvision, Playhouse Disney (dh and dd1 waited for us outside...no interest in this), WWTBAM (this time dh and dd2 waited outside and ate popcorn...dh doesn't care for this show). Before we went in for the show, I was a "complete stranger!" That was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I didn't know the answer. But I got a button that says, "I was a complete stranger." DD1 got a big kick out of it. After the show dh and dd1 rode STar Tours. dd2 was really unhappy about not being able to ride (she was a little tired at this point also). After dh and dd1 got off, I decided not to ride so dd2 wouldn't be upset again. Went to see them turn on the Spectacle of Lights. Yes, it was crowded but it was definitely worth it to see the fanfare of turning the lights on. Didn't know it would snow. :) The lights were great. We were at WDW at this time in 1997 and saw the lights then also. After the lights, dh wanted to leave but dd2 really wanted to ride a ride since she didn't get to ride Star Tours. So we rode the Great Movie Ride with no wait. Then it was time for the park to close, so we headed to the bus and back to the hotel. Note that we saw Fantasmic and the parade during our trip in March, so we skipped those this time.

A full day - cute story about dd and the princesses - thanks for posting!

Oh, how lucky to see the princesses! I hope to have an encounter with them for my 5 1/2yo dd. She LOVES the princesses!

Does Fantasmic play year round? I hope so because I would love to see it again. We saw it in December 1999, but I thought it only played at Xmas time so didn't think about it our last trip in 1/2001.
