12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

I was thinking of checking out GW too BUT then I thought about how I can't go there during the summer with the kids in tow and when school starts it is going to be getting busy for me. I just found out that the PTO VP probably wont be back in town until her father's battle with cancer is over. I am preparing myself to be responsible for alot more. DH will be out of town more with the new graduate program that he will be starting in September, & honestly I just don't want to spend possibly hours looking for something that I may not find. I need to destress as much as possible. I will think about this for a couple more days before I decide. I know that we will get at least two uses out of it since we just booked #4 for 2006 & he can always dress up as a pirate for Halloween. :)

I think the Kohls shirt is a great idea. I think my DH would look good in it too, I may go to Kohls next weekend and take a look at it in person. We do have a Goodwill just around the corner from the house. I will definitely have time after school starts. I am hoping to cut back to 2 days a week at work, even if that doesn't happen I still only work 3 days a week and the occasional weekend.

The hard part will be finding a shirt for me to wear now. If I get one for DH there is me & the kids, though DD already has the shirt.

I like the shirt. It would be great for pirate night. I havn't mentioned to my family about pirate night yet pirate: But I hink it would be fun to dressup as a pirate. What kind of activites are there for pirate night? Is this something that you do for dinner? pirate: pirate: pirate: Diana

DH and I dressed for Pirate night on the 10 day cruise. I wore a Tavern Wench outfit and we rented a very cool pirate costume for him. The local costume shop let me keep it for the 18 days we were gone for only a 2 day rental fee. Very fun. DH was picked to help Mickey save the ship from the pirates because he was such a good pirate. ARRRRRR pirate: We are 55 and 60 years old, but still enjoy being kids. :Pinkbounc

Angie...sounds like you got a great deal last time on your costumes! That is great that your DH got to help Mickey. Did you get any pictures?

At dinner your servers are dressed up a bit as pirates. Your menu is rolled up & looks like a treasure map and you are given a red bandana with "Pirates In The Carribean" on it. When you wear it at the deck party it glows in the dark. They had a mariachi band walking thru the dining room playing while we ate then at the end of dinner they do what they did at the tropical night and have a song with a limbo bar in the middle of the room. If you want to go under it (or your kids do LOL!) get up & in line right away or you wont make it there before the music ends. At the deck party Mickey saves the ship from being taken over by Captain Hook & crew & there are fireworks.

ARRRR! pirate: We did get photos of our outfits. I tried to take pics of DH on the stage, but it was pretty crowded and hard to get close so they are fairly dark and you have to know who you are looking at to know who you are looking at. :teeth: It was a fun night.

Here are the kids on pirate night last cruise. I had already bought the matching outfits for us though.

Lisa, Very cute picture. You have cute kids! :earsgirl: :earsboy: I am so looking forward to this cruise. 5 months seems so far away! But I know it will be here before you know it. I will be so busy these next couple of weeks My olderst daughter is getting married on the 23rd of July. So it has been crazy around here. Trying to get those last minute details together. :groom: :bride:
 Diana

I had to get us off page 3!!!

How is everyone doing? Sorry to see the weekend end....DH did a ton of yard work yesterday ALL day - he is fried today! I am starting to get excited about the cruise!! What is the official word on CC members as far as how many days out to book kid's club etc?

CC members get to book everything at 90 days out. First timers are at 75 days. I have the countdown on the website too. :)

Has anyone seen the new pirate stuff they have at Oriental? I am getting us some of the stick on mustaches. pirate:I need to get to WM to look at the fabric for DD's pirate skirt. I finally ordered the top for DH last night.

we will be going on the december 10th cruise too...i have a question it may sound dumb..but what are all of these DD's and DH's and DS's??

DD - Dear Daughter
DS - Dear Son
DH - Dear (or D$mn)Husband
DW - Dear (or D$mn) Wife :)

Don't feel bad - it took me a while to figure out this shorthand too, and I still haven't figured it ALL out!

John

We have a quiet group this week. We were all the way down near the bottom of page 2. Happy Friday to all tomorrow! :jumping1:

Hi...im only 14..and i posted in the teen forum but no one has replied..so i was wondering if any of you have anyone going with you around 14..and i also have a brother hes 11 and he would like to know if any of your children are around that age also..thanks

We do have another 14 yo in this group and some kids around your brother's age. Lisa has a webpage set up for us. She can let you know how to get to that so you can get to know everyone and we can get to know you. Our group is just "old folks". Although, I am a kid at heart and DH is a teenager at heart, if that counts. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
