We have been kind of quiet this week. I have been lurking, but not posting much this past week. I fininished Harry Potter on Monday and spent awhile lurking on the Community Board thread about HP. None of my friends have finished it yet, so I don't have anyone to talk to about it.

Welcome b314! My daughter will be 10 when we cruise. I don't think we have any boys your brothers age yet though. I am sure that we will get more people closer to cruise time.

My son just finished Harry Potter, and now it's my turn - just finished the "Historian" and had started reading the "Traveler". There seem to be a lot of good books out this summer!

Haven't had time to post much, it's been too hot, and we have been going to the pool on a regular basis. I'm not complaining though, after last winter, it can get as hot as it wants to!

DH has started reading DS's copy that they picked up last week. LOL! I didn't expect him to since we only have the first book & noone here has read that. The kids LOVE the movies though. I have started reading book one to DS and have found a deal on the other PBs so will be picking the rest of the set up this week. I have read the spoiler threads though...very sad. Having seen the movies before reading the books I feel like it wont be any different. We are already talking about the differences between the movie & book one...the extra details.

We haven't been able to go to the pool as much as we would like to this week. The TSs around here come & go during the day...every day. DD is to the point that she doesn't want to go at all because she is afraid of a storm coming. Friday's effort to go to the pool didn't go well since DS fell head first down our front steps, which are brick. He was pretty scratched up and has some bad bruises. His last minute decision to put on a baseball hat ended up saving his head. That wasn't touched but the brim of his new hat was scuffed up where it scraped the sidewalk.

I have a DD that is 14y that will be on the ship. She is very excited to finally know that someone else on the ship will be her age. Her cousin will be going with us & she will be 12y. Glad to have you aboard.

I just ordered my tickets for MVMCP. We are going to that on Dec 9th. Now, I just need to get plane tickets and a hotel (and a car). I haven't decided where we should stay. I am thinking about POFQ or maybe one of the All Star resorts. I am thinking that we will probably be hanging around the resort on Friday, so maybe I want to go with a moderate.

We now have boots for DD's pirate outfit!!! A friend gave me 4 trash bags of clothes & shoes & those black boots were the first thing that I picked out of them.

Have you seen the new pirate stuff in Oriental Trading? There is light up pins and all kinds of things!!

I think we are going to MVMCP on the 9th too!! I am trying the AP best rate program every night till a woods view WL opens up!

Well -we will be there on the 9th for sure (well after I buy the tix tomorrow) I just booked our rooms through the Best Rate program at the Poly for 12/8-12/10 and there pretty much is no changing them and they have my deposit so it's a done deal!! I am psyched!! My first stay as a paying adult there!!! This was my Grandfather's favorite resort...but back then there weren't as many to choose from!

Does anyone have a DD that is 7ish who would like a pen pal. My DD Lexi would like to write someone. She will be in second grade this fall. Her older sister has a pen pal and she really, really wants one of her own. Anyone out there???

Hi Guys,

Just checking in - been absent for awhile. It is the beginning of the Pro Football HOF Festival here in Canton, OH, and we went to the beautiful balloon festival liftoff tonight. There must have been 50 hot air balloons taking off from our local branch of Kent State University. The sky was unbelievable, littered with all of those beautiful hot air balloons. Since the HOT weather left us for a few days, it was a beautiful, cool, clear evening, and I got some great pictures!

Hope everyone is enjoying what will soon be the last month of summer - with back to school sales starting, it seems like no time at all before our cruise will be here!
