12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

this packing is killing me.....we are up to 7 bags and most of them weigh more than 50 lbs.......50 lbs comes quick...I don't know what to do! this too much too early...I have to get ready for Jonny's birthday party...6 am tomorrow is coming way too fast!!!

Is the weight a problem? Are you flying out? Since you are traveling with 5 people, can you get some smaller bags to help distribute the load a bit more?

You could get a kid swap pass and after (or before) we ride you and Brad could ride together and we could sit with the kids, if you'd like to go together.

That would be cool. We have never actually used the kid swap thing, so I don't even know how it works. I think Jacob would be okay with the up and down part of it, but is it dark and scary in there? I think I have talked hime into Space Mountain at MK too. He likes roller coasters as long as they don't go upside down or anything.

Well, I'll say "bye all" until we meet at the Radisson on the 9th :) We leave tomorrow so I may or may not be on before we get there.

Pack safely and see you all soon

Bye Deidre!!!!! See you soon!!!!!!!

Have decided to keep the girls off school now until after Christmas, so that they do not catch anythingelse before we go.

See you all soon.

That is a good idea. If I didn't already feel guilty for having the kids off for 8 days, I would do that too. As it is I am pushing the vitamins and handwashing like crazy.

John- I had to laugh out loud - plywood?? now that would give me something to do with all the extra hurricane supplies!! But, no - it's lime green poster board! :)

Wow, that would be a heavy sign! :rotfl2:

In ToT, there are a few times when it is completely pitch black. So beware........

50lbs does come quick. Last cruise one of our bags was 51 and they did let it slide, but I am not counting on it this time. One thing I did to try to make the big bags lighter was to have a smaller bag that held all of the shoes since they weigh so much more. I would have been in trouble if that bag go lost, but we lucked out.

Okay, so I am thinking it might be better if Jacob doesn't do it. I don't want to terrorize the poor kid. ;)

Yeah if darkness in rides affects him, it might be better to wait another year. BUT...if he rides Space Mtn first and doesn't have problems with it, then it might be ok.

Cristi, when are u getting to WDW? I am arriving on Tues morning at 9am;taking a red eye on Monday night.

We won't be going to MK until Friday, so I won't know how Space Mountain affects him. I will just play it by ear and see what he wants to do when we get there.

Sounds like a plan

The kid swap, or stroller pass as it is really called, allows the party that stays with the kids to enter thru the fast pass line so your party does not have to wait in line twice. We have used it many times over the years with grandkids and it is quite handy.

I found out that one of my cousins has a daughter (Katie) that works at WDW and I called her and we are going to meet her Wed morning!
:Pinkbounc This is very exciting. She is late 20s and I have never met her. Our family is quite scattered and we keep in touch but some of the younger generation we have not met. This one grew up in OK then after college went to FL to work for Disney. I also found out that another cousin lives in the Tampa area and I called him and we are going to meet on the 17th after we get back from the cruise. Very cool. I have not seen him in over 20 years! Katie said she will take the 17th off too so she can meet her mom's other cousin also. :grouphug: Family reunion too! :sunny:

Angie - that sounds like fun!

Since we don't have far to go and no flights, I am not worried about the weight of the bags. :) I am sure they are all well over 50lbs. I just want this weekend to be over with so we are that much closer to going! But on Saturday I think we are going to get out xmas tree....then Sunday I can decorate it!

Cristi, the kid swap is wonderful!!! Head for the ride that you want to ride the most first. Get the kid swap pass. Let the first person go thru the line then head off to something else. The pass is good for up to 3 people at any time that day. Actually I think the pass doesn't expire for a few days. ;) Also, if Jacob wants to go to the neat stunt show at MGM, go there & get a fast pass ASAP. :) That show's FP does NOT count in your total of FPs, so you can have another one at the same time. We went in June & always had a FP or 2 in our pockets. We didn't have to stand in many lines at all. :)

That's good to know! We will get a stunt show FP right away when we arrive then go to TOT! :earseek:

It definitely helped us in June. There was a huge line for the show but everyone with a FP went ahead in another queue. They told us this when we went on the backstage tour or we wouldn't have known it either. ;) The CM said that there weren't many people let into the show without a FP because so many are given out & they get to sit down first.

Well, I have one gift wrapped & just ordered the last one. I have been putting off getting Cindy's prince & just included it in the order for some ls polos for DS at WM. It might get here before the cruise. I wish that they had some nice ls shirts for boys around here. All that has been left for a month are some weird colored stripes & white ones. He will probably end up in ss polos for most dinners anyway.
