12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Wow- you all have been really busy since I left for work on Friday. It seems like I didn't really get home after that until late last night. What was I thinking???

Anyway, we are all packed, I hope, I need to wrap the gifts for the people I need to mail out for and I need to still pick up some things for my best friend so I can send all that off. I don't know when I'll get it done as I'm working straight through until we leave on Thursday.

DD's birthday is Thursday, need to wrap her gifts and buy cupcakes for school.

I can't wait until we're gone and I can relax.

Have fun all, I'm off to take the kids to school and then I'm going to work.

What a day it has already been. I spent some of the morning at the school then hit WM. UGH! After I got home & unloaded the car I grabbed the mail. Lots of catelogs then I saw a PM envie from our TA. DOCS are here! I said 1 1/2 weeks before & today is 10 days before we leave. :) They have the old cabin number on them though, so I need to find out what to do. I don't want to have to wait longer to get our bags.

yeah for getting docs!!!

I just got flowers delivered!! My dad - so sweet - he forgot my birthday! :)

Lisa, we upgraded at the Port last year and we just went to our old room and picked the bags up out of the hall ourselves.

Good afternoon. Just checking in. Packing is coming along. I am trying to stay motivated to work, but it is getting hard. By Friday, I will definitely be checked out. However, I am working Monday before I leave.....still thinking about that decision.

Did I miss your b-day too, Vanessa? Well, happy belated birthday.

it was the 20th!!! But I count UF's win as my bday!! Usually every couple years it is played on my bday and every 5 years it is at home!!

What is everyone up to - working? packing? I am "checked" out already. Can't concentrate but I have loads to do before we leave!!!
:) :) Better get moving!

That is exactly what I want to avoid. This upgrade has already been done by DCL so I want to know how to get the bags right to our correct room.

OK, everyone who has been upgraded with old info on your docs....here is what you need to do! :) This if from one of the DU cruise concierge team.

You need to black out the bar code on your luggage tags with a black magic marker or a Sharpie and write in the new stateroom number. Then the luggage will be delivered to the correct room. You will also cross out the old number and write in the new number on the other docs you will surrender at the port.

Bon Voyage!

I have such a headache because I have TOO MUCH TO DO before we leave!!! And I'm tired and two kids doesn't help (ha ha). I am going to have to work like a dog until we go, but hopefully that'll make next Sunday that much sweeter (when we leave for WDW). However, it's going to be a rough start because the shuttle driver is picking us up at home at 4:15 IN THE MORNING. Egad. Hopefully kids will be ok and Mom and Dad too. Eeeks. Hopefully everyone will sleep on the plane. This is the first time travelling with 2 kids, double stroller, many suitcases, etc. Gasp.

Wish me luck!

I don't know about the rest of you, but today was even worse than a typical Monday at work. It did not help that it was warm outside (60's). Every day from now until we leave is going to be a real labor at the office, and all I can think about is this vacation. Our last vacation was in JULY - over the fourth when we visited the beach and Lisa and her family in NC.

My mind is on vacation, even though my body isn't. Sophia wanted to talk about the cruise all night tonight, and she is really getting excited too.

How much quicker can these final days before we leave go?

Not quick enough for us.

Oh, and Lisa, BTW, we have not packed ONE suitcase yet. Supposedly we will get that done this weekend. :rotfl2:

We have decided to take the non-stressful approach, which means we will not stress out about leaving until 24 hours before our flight takes off!

We are paying for that 60's weather tonight, as storms and a cold front are trying to move back in - it is some kind of wind out there. I wonder how many of my outdoor lights will be blown down by morning?

John

That is the NON stressful way to pack?!?!?! OMG! I would be too frantic the day before. I am working at the school tomorrow morning then meet with a rep to get quotes for windows. Most of the seals are broken & we are tired of them being fogged up. :( I started working on the girls' pirate skirts tonight. It is all ironed out & pressed for a hem. I just have a few more red points to stitch witch & then I can sew everything together at the waist & put in the elastic. :) I WILL get the suitcases out this week. I will probably start packing up DS's outfits since he is the easiest. LOL! DD's involve putting the matching hair accessories in the zip locks with the outfits then of course her dresses should coordinate with mine for dinner. DH picked up a new suit on Friday so he & DS will be looking sharp. :)

ok - I got the bags all out tonight and the adult garment bag is quite full already, the girls garment bag is stuffed and now I am working on the "toiletry" bag which is kind of a catch all!

Watching the Colts game and hoping Vanderjet doesn't score too much. (fantasy)....DH and I have been sitting here talking "cruise", I want to get there early but then again.....how many others do you think will be there early? I can hardly remember our last cruise and I am pretty sure we were one of the first but we leisurely parked, got our stuff together, checked in and were probably 10th in line to board. Now - I don't know why - but I feel more of a race, if that makes sense??!!

Oh - BTW - if anyone needs OTC drugs, sunscreen, first aid etc....DH just informed me we would be able to dr the entire ship.....:) BUt come by 6548 or call if you need something. I like my insurance policy even if it means lugging one extra bag.

and it is POURING here!! My pool is getting filled!!! I haven't checked the gulf but it makes me wonder if anything is out there??!! VERY unusual for it to rain here this late in the year!

and I just tried on my formal dresses....both black....:( oh well.....DH thought they were the same dress!!! Men!

I've packed one suitcase. Gotten most of my stuff together for the garment bag. I am now figuring out what I am wearing on the non suit nights on board. I also need to leave space for the souvies I'll be bringing home. Oy. I may have to repack.

Still warm during the day, but cooler at night. Low 50's/High 40's. Burrrrr....the central heat actually kicked in last night.

Its rained most of today here in Orlando, and I think tomorrow is much of the same. Supposedly a cold front is moving in.

On a much better note.. just got home from work today and my docs for the 3day I am going on this Thursday came today... ! We were assigned room 7516... Now I gotta pack for that cruise! And just TWO more work days before I am officially on VACATION!

Well off to bed for me, Tuesdays is EMH for the Studios, so that means early morning for me... :faint:

I am totally new to cruising, and totally new to this forum discussion! With a little over a week to go, bags packed, I am starting to look around to see what everyone has to say about this cruise! My husband and I will be on the 12/10/2005 cruise to mark our 25th anniversary (9/13/05). We are so excited!!! Lillygator, are you still discussing??? :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I just realized that's a four letter word! We had a blizzard today, makes me so anxious to take off. We still don't have our docs, supposedly by today at the latest - until the snow, ha! We booked cabin 6562, but it sounds like you can't be sure??? Oh well, gotta go.

Hi and welcome Magic for 2! Of course we are still discussing!!!! We are close by you in cabin 6548...:)

It is raining here and the cold front is supposed to move in tonight/tomorrow....not really what I wanted. I would rather it be 80 or higher while we are at Disney! But I guess it will get us more in the xmas spirit. Tomorrow the high for Sarasota is 73......brrr.....:)

I didn't get much more accomplished last night. Trying to pack a two night bag so that we can just leave that in the car, trying to figure out what time to leave the world....etc. etc.

With all the rain we probably won't get a tree until the weekend. Have to move some furniture around the living room as well. Fun stuff.
