12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

We are now linked with Cristi for dining. We have requested PLA rotation. If anyone else having late dining wants to link and sit in the same general area as us, just send me a PM with your ressie number and last name.

Hey, where is everybody today? :listen: Are you all like working to pay for a cruise or something? :confused3

Lbgraves...

We will just have to keep our hopes up.. I sailed this time last year after Castaway got nailed by quite a few hurricanes, and I was amazed at how much they had fixed up... It's a shame though about the sting rays. Well I suppose they survived, so that is good... but I was hoping to get to do the excursion. I wonder how long it will take to get the sting rays back???

hmm, I have been keeping up with the 10/22 live from the Magic post from Timon, and she mentioned that as of today, DCL hadn't made any annoucements that they had cancelled their stingray excursion at Castaway. She said she'd let us know when she gets there on Friday!

I just realized that when we are on board... they will have chicken little and Narnia... We will have some great movies to watch on board!! Thats exciting. I love watching movies on the ship. I am really hoping they play Chicken Little on the new big pool movie screen!

Disney is coming out with a new movie in Feb. called "Eight Below". Could that possibly show on the ship or is that to far ahead? :3dglasses I'm ready to watch movies under the stars. But if I get to relaxed I may fall asleep so if you hear snoring that is me getting to relaxed under the stars :rotfl2:

:wave2: Diana

The movies premire on the ship the same time they do in the theaters. The 7 day usually has a movie night in the Walt Disney Theater, and they usually show the latest Disney movie to come out...

I'm thinking we'll get Narnia as the movie they play in the Walt Disney Theater... then they have other movies playing throughout the day in the smaller, Buena Vista Theater.

Diana,

I think a movie coming out in February would be just a tad too soon for them to show on board, but you never know.

Narnia and Chicken Little would be more logical choices of "new" movies they might be showing. I would also assume that Shopgirl, Flight Plan, The Greatest Game Ever Played, Dark Water, Valiant would be among the other movies they might be showing as they were/are all Disney/Touchstone releases.

I am finally looking into a shore excursion--the Scream Power Boat Ride or something like that. I've seen alot of promos on different shows and it looks like a hoot. Plus it's only an hour to an hour and 1/2; so we would have time to sight-see or go to a beach. My cousin is a little apprehensive about it as bouncing for 40 minutes on water does not sound too fun......

Thanks Jordon, I figured feb. would be to late for Dec. I am looking forward to seeing Narnia. Flight Plan I've seen very good movie. I also plan on being busy I don't want to sit around watching movies.

How is everyone doing this evening? Is their a thread I can go to that explains how to add pictures to these chats?

Thank you Diana

Kirsty,

Pixie dust for your daughter to get better. :wizard:

Oh, for the men here who are afraid of shopping, did I fail to mention that I am working Thanksgiving until I can start the line for Best Buy so I can buy DH a big screen tv so he can watch his hockey on? :goodvibes That will be his Christmas present, if I can get my hands on one. With luck it won't be too cold and the line won't start too early. :cold:

Have fun all,

Deidre

From Timon's live thread from the 10/22 Disney Magic....

"On a side note…the Captain just made an announcement that Castaway Cay did suffer some damage from Hurricane Wilma and that the crew are doing their best to get the island all fixed up for us. The family beach I guess was hit hard but they are trying to do their best to have it open for tomorrow. On a sad note, the Castaway Rays have been cancelled, as they had promised (it is their environmental policy) that if a storm was near they would release all the stingrays so that they may find their own way to safety. So for those of you who have the Rays booked on the next few cruises, chances are good that it will be cancelled since they have to wait for the Rays to come back on their own."

So sounds like they let the rays go intentionally... and eventually they will be back, so hopefully in a month or so, things will be relatively back to normal at Castaway, especially since it sounds like they almost have the family beach up and running again..

Ducks finally WIN last night against the defending Western Conference Champions, the Calgary Flames. They looked good for anyone that cares about hockey. I hope they keep it up that's for sure. Can't believe the cruise is just 6 weeks away.....I'll be at WDW in 5.........

Oh, and my cousin is now talking about doing door magnet signs. Hmmm...I don't have an artistic bone in my body, but maybe I'll have to try something OR just have my cousin do it.

Not that I have an artistic talent either!! And yay Ducks... finally!

I hope the rays come back before we cruise! :boat: :sunny:

Jordan I'm not that artistic but I am going to try and make the door magnet for ours & my SIL' room. Going to the Magnet door thread gave me some ideas. Diana :wave2:

DrHug is assigned the task of making the magnetic door signs at our house. Not only is he more artistic, he also is more computer saavy. :badpc:

I know that they will have CC up & running. We went 12/4 last year & enjoyed ourselves. It was different though. The dredge work equipment was docked when we were on the island, the water on the family beach was much more shallow where we were since they hadn't gotten to that part yet, the platform was closed due to shallow water, and the worst thing was looking out over the island & seeing the brown where there should have been green. I was just looking forward to seeing the island in its complete beauty again.
