12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Sounds like some people have exhausting Thanksgivings planned. I am thinking I will work late Thanksgiving night and just start the line at Best Buy, if they have the big screen tv's on for a good price. I really like Black Friday shopping, I will miss that when I get home.

I get to pick my own hours so my Supervisor is thrilled that I'll be working Thanksgiving. I am going to be VERY busy that day.

Have fun all!

Some of us at our house do the early Friday shopping too. I have 2 nieces that are the shopping queens! They get us out there at 5 am and we are done by 10 and then we meet all the others that don't shop for breakfast.

Thanksgiving is not a day we celebrate in UK.

We will probably put our xmas decorations up last weekend in November.

We leave for USA 7th Dec and will not get back until 23rd Dec.

Getting excited now, have ordered our travel money and it seems so much more real!

Hopefully everything will be fine, just have to get Naimh checked out first cos since September she has had a broken arm, (due to her sister and involved two operations) singles, then chicken pox and now undiagnosed spots. she is being tested for her immune system, so please could everyone cross fingers etc for nothing to be wrong.

counting days now not months!

Kirsty

I've been doing the Black Friday for the past 9 years and I LOVE it! (with the exception of last year because I was on the way to the Magic). I study the ads and map out my route. I'm usually out of the house by 3:30 am.

Kirsty, will definately keep your little one in our prayers. Pixie Dust on the way for your entire family.

Kirsty, I also hope that your DD receives a clean bill of health very soon. It is so hard when they are sick. (((HUGS)))

I talked with a friend today about possibly getting our families together for Thanksgiving. We cook a meal for DH & I and the kids eat their regular food. They do the same. It would be nice to cook for more than just the two of us.

Compared to the carnival, nothing seems very demanding anymore. LOL! I went thru the treat closet today & took out everything for the kid's Halloween party bags for their classes. I am the homeroom mom for both. I will be stocking up for next year next week when the stuff hits 75% off. ;) I also moved some of the things that can be delivered for Christmas if we go up to VA this weekend & see my sister & her family. One less box to ship out! :) I will start wrapping the rest of it next week. I like shipping everything out before Thanksgiving. It is almost time to print off the Christmas card envies!!! If they don't go out before our cruise, they just wont get out.

I sure hope that the house gets put back together before DH gets home from school!

Kirsty
I will pray they find out the cause for the spots & it is easliy taken care of! & Here some pixie dust for good measure. It is hard on everyone when your is little one is sick. Be sure & take care of yourself for your DD. :wizard: :grouphug: Take Care Diana

Hi everyone. :wave2: I am MrsMork's DH. I just wanted to sign on and say "hi" to everyone. I don't get on the Boards much. MrsMork does all of the talking. :rotfl:

By the way Jordan, I do love MrsMork :earsgirl: because she knows football and bakes a great apple pie. She's pretty awesome in every way.
MrsMork says you are a Bruin fan. Is that right. YIKES !!! Well, your boys are doin' great. PAC10 is the best. :cheer2: :teeth: , but, I hope we will WIN out. Maybe you guys can be second. Is that okay? :rolleyes1

Is everyone hooking up for Dining? It is going to be AWESOME !!!!
"scuse if I am not adept at this board yet. I need practice.

See ya soon. :hourglass

Phew!! Another dude.......Dennis I am a Bruin fan by default. UC Irvine has no football team so I root for UCLA. I am not as diehard as most
UCLA fans. I actually respect SC and SC's elite status just bolsters the PAC-10's reputation and ability to recruit.

We are not linked but are currently late dining. We have 9 in our party and all Japanese-American. We'll be hard to miss.

Hey Jordan,

Here I am . . . Finally watching the BB game, where Chisox just pulled ahead. Tough to stay up for these games in the East when you get up at 5:00 for work. I was out tonight becuase we had a fundraiser for our school district for our levy campaign. School financing in Ohio is an absolute mess, and you can guess what our chances are with the price of gasoline and gas this winter. We have not asked for additional operating money since 1996! We lost by over 70% in May.

I'm not much of one for shopping on sale days. When you've worked your whole life in the retail industry (even though it is grocery) you take a whole different view of the holidays and shopping. I bet Vanessa's DH feels the same way. I love a deal as much as anyone, but not the craziness of that Friday after Thanksgiving.

We will be having lots of family over at our house. We will probably have about 15 for dinner counting us. Amy's sister is coming up from VA with her kids, and our house seems to be the meeting place as we have the most room.

We'll say a prayer for your little one Kirsty. Our Sophia has had a rough time with the change of seasons again - with her asthma, the change really messes with her lungs, and she has quite a bit of coughing every day which requires breathing treatments, which are no fun at all. She has taken to Kindergarten so well though, that she HATES to even think of missing school!

Less than 50 posts to 1300 Jordan.

John

Jordan, We'll have to get together for some shopping. :rotfl2:

Actually, I do like to shop; for guitars, :rockband: for computer stuff, for cameras. Would like to shop for a Dodge Viper but mean 'ol MrsMork gives me a frown if I mention it. ;)

I look forward to meeting all 9 of you. Hope we sit close together. I don't want to have to throw the football too far. :thewave:

Hmmmmmm? How do I do the signature thing?

Kirsty,

Best wishes for your little one. We will keep her in our thoughts and prayers also.

Bad news guys. :( I was really hoping to see CC in it's glory again this year after a brown visit last year.

Now some not-so-pleasant news. CC was apparantly hit fairly hard by the hurricane. The netting is down on the family beach so the "swim" part of the family beach is closed. The adult beach is now open to all people. Not ideal for DW and I, but I suppose they had to do something. There are also a few shore excursions that were damaged. Firstly, the stingrays are no-more. The netting came down and all the stingrays have escaped. This is no joke. DW and I were very upset about this but the stingrays are gone. Our money has already been refunded so this is definitely real. There were a few other boats that were damaged as well. I know banana boats and parasailing are in operation still, however some boat tours were damaged. If I get an actual list I'll post it but I'm just going from memory on an announcement from Captain John. There is also a fair bit of cleanup that needs to be done so we'll see what happens tomorrow when we get there.

Hey everyone - Kirsty - I hope DD is ok...lots of thoughts and prayers your way.

Watching the bball game - alone!!! DH played ball tonight and is now conked out! I am rooting for the Astros!! :)

Gators have a HUGE game Saturday......of course that is the night of Samantha's party! - we'll be able to see most of the game though....:)

Sorry to read about what has happened to CC but that comes with the territory. The beaches and water will still be breathtaking to me, and hopefully by next December the vegetation will be on its way back......of course it has to make it through another month of hurricane season this year and all of next year's season.

oh my goooooooooodnesss - who is watching the game??? What a steal!

Oh yeah...the Ducks lost AGAIN. It's gonna be a looooong season. I guess I can rationalize that 3 of our star players are hurt right now.

For those of you who having monitoring the number of my posts. Did any of you notice who had post 1250? That truly was unintentional. But I did get a good chuckle as I was writing that post. As for the others.....well, I'll tell you on Saturday, Dec 10th.

Since I usually do my Xmas shopping a few weeks before the 25th, it looks like alot of friends and family will be getting gifts from WDW/DCL and the Caribbean.

It's almost midnight West Coast time, so I know I am pretty much just writing to myself right now........

I forgot to mention that my cousin was able to book Palo online last week. However, the only times available were on the first night and last night. So half of us are going Sat 10th and the other half on Friday the 16th. We may try and change once we get on board.

Thankyou all for your replies and hopefully the pixie dust will do its work! :goodvibes

Hope everyone did not suffer with Wilma.

Kirsty
