My 12 1/2 yr old DD is a very pickey eater. Would she be able to order off the children's menu even though she is 12+? Or can she go to the kid's buffet at Chef Mickey's or Hollywood & Vine?

Has anyone made requests for items that weren't on the menu and they had it (such as pasta)?

Any advice would help greatly.

Anyone can get food from the children's buffets. I've seen lots of adults taking food from the kids' buffet. Your 12-1/2 yr old will just pay the adult price since she is 12. Probably not a problem to order from the kids' menu.

My 13 year old son was able to order from the kids' menu at the castle for dinner last week. There was nothing he wanted on the adult menu. For the buffets, everyone can eat from the kids' buffet.

No problem ordering from the kids menus for big kids, but as for the buffets, you may want to avoid them, because she will pay adult prices.

My son is extremely picky. At Chef Mickey's for dinner, he didn't try anything in the buffet. We asked for french fries instead and they made them for him. I was told that they will try to accomodate whenever possible. As long as they have the item in their kitchen, they will probably make it for you.

My sister has a seven year old son that is very picky. The only food in likes is pb&j or chicken fingers. We had several places get him chicken fingers even when they were not on the menu. They really will try to accomdate your needs. One place told us they sent one of the waiters out across Epcot to get them from another restaurant and then the chef came out to make sure the chicken was okay. It was great.

I would just ask any restaurant. They also told us if you call ahead then they will make sure they can get you whatever you want usually.

My nephew is a pretty picky eater, although we have been working on this. When we went a few years ago, we dined at the Crystal Palace and there was very little he would eat. We asked about ordering a plate of french fries and we had it within 10 minutes. We had to pay extra for it, but it was worth it. On my last trip, I saw adults picking off items from the kids area and kids off the adult area. I don't think they police these stations all that much. More to keep the food from running out, rather than who is actually taking the food.

They don't care who eats off of which buffet...kids or adults. At least that is what we were told. The kids' buffet is just lower and has more kid friendly foods. Both buffets are open to everyone.

Thanks for the replies. I feel much better knowing she will be able to get what she likes for the most part.

Thanks again

My very picky 7 yr old loved hollywood & vine... I tried the macaroni & cheese on the kids' buffet there because she loved it so much, it really was good!
