12/09/06 Geeks.... Lost, but not forgotten

Sophia went swimming today, and it was 56 outside - YIKES!

The pool was 82, but I was NOT getting in!

We went to Hollywood Studios, and by 11:00 ALL the fastpasses for Toy Story were GONE and the wait was 70 minutes - it went up to 110 minutes! The CM told us there were about a bazillion tour groups, which we could tell by all the "follow me flags" and all the kids were from South America. I am guessing they are on summer break down there? Lots of kids from Brazil.

So, we stayed long enough to get a FP for Rockin Rollercoaster for later, and left for DTD. Sophia and I went back to Hollywood, rode RR, and left again because it was so crowded! Middle of January, and crowded - all teenagers.

We are going to try MK tomorrow morning, and EPCOT tomorrow night as there are extra magic hours until 11.

Yes it will be getting warmer, just in time for us to leave.

Pictures after we get back. The internet connection here stinks! I can't use my airport express to make the room wireless, and I am darned if I am going to sit here to be on my computer. I called tech support and they told me the issue is the AE - even though I had absolutely NO problem at OKW or SSR.

Did you get to see the video Lisa?

Yes we did! :) Can't believe Sophia got on that after last year. LOL! Kids are funny. Do you have pictures of Angie dancing with the scarves? :cool1:

John, there are several threads about not being able to get AE to work at BCVs. No one has been able to figure it out.

Was just reading back in the thread, and found the clown car posts, sounds like fun was had by Phil.

Oh, I got it to work, just very slow and spotty. That stinks as this is my favorite place to stay. Guess I will have to live with wired internet here.

The Halkias clan was not with us at that point. Whew! :scared: The camera was in my purse and Dennis was too busy with the tamborine to take photos anyway! :lmao: I can tell you that I am NOT a natural born belly dancer though. :rotfl2:

DARN! Always missing those "dancing on the tables" and "bellydancing" Kodak moments!

Finally had a nice day today - great warm (67 and sunny) weather, and no crazy lines early at MK. Sophia and I rode BTM three times in a row in about 20 minutes this morning. We rode Space Mountain twice with FP's, then BTM again with a FP. Rode the carousel, got lunch, had the obligatory Dole Whip, and then back to the hotel for a swim.

Much of Stormalong Bay is closed, so we went over to Luna Park at BWV. Didn't really like it that much. Disturbing to come out of a clown's mouth on the slide.

Just bathed and showered for our last night. Extra Magic at EPCOT until 11, and we are having dinner at Italy. We liked it the other night, so we are having it again, just like we had Boma twice.

Last night, Sophia had her caricature drawn at AKL, and I talked to the artist, who drew baby Hercules in the movie, as well as Pegasus, did work on the Hunchback and Pocahontas as well as other movies - even drew battle droids and Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars "The Phantom Menace". Really nice guy.

Back to snow and cold tomorrow . . .:sad2:

how cool - I am scared of clowns but I did fall in love with Boardwalk. Are you cold? I am finally able to breathe but want John to make me soup....doesn't look like it is going to happen, he just got home and is almost asleep already!

Cold?

Finally warm today!

Went swimming for two hours!

Hope you guys feel better - we are actually feeling really good - no one sick. Usually one of us is during a vacation. This one has been good so far.

just me so far, hope no one else gets it. John has his heart appt this week so hopefully all goes well.

not sure I posted this prior - but Samantha rode Tower of Terror and Rock and Roller Coaster - I think she has been tall enough before, but I was skiddish putting her on. She was fine! Loved them both!

Give John our best V. We are worried about him, and hope it is nothing that is any big deal.

Post that picture you took of the screen with Samantha on the rides!

She was telling the "bigger girls" she was NOT afraid at all!

you would think my two girls have never seen any kind of electronic gadget.....I mean really!

I will say Steve certainly had a harem!! And Haley is still asking about him, and wanting to go to the hotel.

John - we are not ready for you to go home yet...I am enjoying hearing about my favorite place on earth from you guys!!!!!

We are not ready to go home either . . . Sophia is almost in tears that we have to leave.

We watched Illuminations, finished dinner at 9:30, and got through Test Track, Spaceship Earth, and ended the night with Soarin by 11:00.

We had a wonderful time, even with the cold - thanks in no small part to our wonderful friends from here who could spend time with us. Wish you all could have been here with us.

When we get back, I will post some pictures. We have some time to play a bit tomorrow morning, flight leaves at 3:55, but Sophia does not want to do extra magic at Hollywood at 8:00 am.

We have one counter service meal left, so we will be eating late lunch at WP Express DTD - one of the best deals for a decent CS meal. I had wonderful Penne pasta with chicken alfredo there the other day.

We have to transfer in Atlanta, and won't get home until about 8:00 in the evening. Will be incommunicado tomorrow afternoon.

doesn't Kim (behind Samantha) look like she is yawning?

ROFL!!! I didn't even recognize her. :) Samantha looks like she was having quite an experience. I wish that we could get our kids to go on those rides.
