Wow - has it been that long ago? I guess it has.

Happy Birthday to your little Princess!

For us, no cruise in sight. We have had to cut back due to the economy, and just use our DVC points to visit WDW since our PC Cruise. We are hoping for sometime in 2010 or 2011.

wonder if any inside staterooms will open up?

April a cat 8 is only running us 4400 after the 10% is taken off. :) The airfare is going to be 1600-2000 one way to Barcelona. There are some of us homeschooling from the beginning of the year until the kids get back from the TA too. We will be meeting onboard on sea days to have school in the morning for a couple hours. :thumbsup2

BRRRR!!!!! It is down to 64 degrees outside today. ;) DD was upset that winter is back. ROFL! It will be back to the 70s tomorrow.

Another 3 or 4 days and we should be into the low 70s during the day and out of the 30s at night. :thumbsup2 I was upset yesterday, weather dot com said 70 for us for Mother's Day. Dennis planned to make omeletes on the patio, (well, not actually ON the patio, on the grill that is on the patio! :rotfl:) it only got to upper 50s. :sad2: We put on the sweatshirts and ate out there anyway. :)

It looks like I am off for the summer a couple weeks early. My carpal tunnel started bothering me on Friday and did it again today. I went to the chiropractor this afternoon and my back is very tight and my left arm is aggrevated so I am calling it quits as of today until September and will see how it goes then. I worked on the office today and will work on pictures uploading and organizing tomorrow. Lots of stuff to go through before the kids get out on 6/10.

Lisa is that because you booked onboard? And that is all 4 of you? Are you still driving up North to do your own flights?

Yes, that is with the 10% discount applied but that only takes off around $400. The prices are LOW for 2 weeks on the ship!!! :) We are all going and we are planning to drive to Philly to be able to book British Airways to get the 2 bag allowance and carry on. :thumbsup2 We will book SW to get home...or maybe rent a minivan if we can get a good rate. We can take an extra day if we need to since we won't be enrolling the kids in school until we get home that year.

Are you flying directly to Barcelona, or to Paris first? We could fly Philly!

Pricing it all out Paris would add about $3000 to our total cost for just 2 nights/3 days with DLP and taking the train to Barcelona so that is out for us this trip. :( We are flying to Barcelona the Tuesday before the cruise with a stop in Heathrow. There are a couple of tours that we are going to do with the two families we are going to home school with that year but you guys are welcome to join us. There is always room for three more geeks. :goodvibes

I think PJ has her heart set on Paaris, but I don't know if we will want to spend the extra $$. We may just fly to Barcelona the day before the cruise. We will see how it goes. I know we do not want to spend the $$ on hotels in Barcelona. I think we could to DLP using our points for less, even adding in the train. What to do, what to do?????:confused3

Angie, Paris is becoming a dream a this point. I have been looking at heading right to BCN a couple of days early. Visiting some sites and doing the segway tour. I have looked at some of the higher end hostels and can get a single/private room for under 40 EURO/night and be right in the middle of it all, I don't need fancy just a place to lay my head. I hear the Aquarium is wonderful and there is a historical "town".

Mini budget (US$)

BCN
$500 air to BCN from BUF
$40 Transfers
$120 hotel/hostel for two nights
$175 food and activities for two days in BCN

PAR
$425 air to BCN from PAR
$100 transfers
$150 night hotel DLRP
$120 tickets
$125 food and such
$175 night train to BCN

BCN would be way less rushed and cheaper.

That is why we decided what we did PJ. Maybe Paris can be a seperate trip in the future! :) We are looking at renting an apartment for 5 days. It is a few blocks out of the main area but walking is good and we won't be around the louder night life that I have been hearing so much about. It will also let us all stay in one unit, unlike most of the hotels I have seen so far.

I looked at some of the apartment offerings, but for a single it was always a room in with others, I am not comfortable with that. So a hostel, in a private single feels better.

We are able to get 1 rollaway in the place we are looking at and will be there the Tuesday before the cruise if you would like to sofa surf in Barcelona. ;) You can sleep on one of the twins in the second bedroom with Kaitlyn and William can actually sleep on the sofa or with one of the other families and his buds.

Lisa, what a generous offer, we will talk more as we get closer. I don't mind a hostel, use to do it when I visited Washington and NYC, ah to be a kid again, but it would be fun to spend time with friends.

A couple more days of rain here and we may have to pack up and sleep in the boat. It is supposed to be dry for two days starting tomorrow but then another week of rain. :( We have gotten so much of this stuff this month that they have taken most of NC off drought status after years of it being in place. It isn't supposed to rain this much after April.

Hope everyone is doing well and has a great Monday! :)

I don't know where the PD came from but the forecast is completely different than it was a couple days ago. We have sunshine through the weekend now. :) Hope everyone is having a great week!
