DD seems to be adjusting more & has the sparkle back in her eyes. Oh...great news too!!! Yesterday she tested for reading & is at a 5-6 level...which is what is required to move on to 1st grade! I am SO happy! This was a big concern of mine. Now I can relax knowing that she will be even further by the end of the year & with help this summer she will be solidly on track for next year.

Lisa--That's good news. My DD struggled with reading and spelling in 1st and 2nd grade, she was in a literacy program at school, we got tutoring for her one summer, and were really concerned. She has really improved over the last couple of years. Her reading score on her basic skills test (state benchmarks) this year (5th grade) put her at 92% for Iowa and 97% nationally. I'm sure you are relieved. Sounds like she is doing great!

That is great! Actually, she is further ahead than DS was at this exact age...but he was in the 4 year preschool class. Of course he learned how to read the summer before Kindergarten & tested at a 5-6 in the second month BUT that was when he was 5 yr 10 mo. DD is now 5 yr 5 mo. She is so close to the school's cut off date that I wasn't going to push her. It makes more sense in my mind (and my heart) that she be 2 years behind DS in school instead of one...but I guess they will stay that way after all.

DH says thanks for the birthday wishes... well, really he said "how do all these people know it's my birthday?" and I said it's on the birthday list... I think he still thinks it's a little creepy - ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Derek, Jordan and I (with a couple other friends) are going down to San Diego next weekend SANS KIDS to celebrate DH (Derek) and DC (Jordan)'s birthdays. So excited. He asked if there was anything I wanted to do there, and I said I want to take a nap. I want to sleep in without hearing "Mommy I'm hungry" and I want to lounge around without hearing "Mommy come here." All I want to do is nothing. Hee hee.

WOW! It turned out that the ohm block didn't do the job all the time. I just picked up a cable splitter specifically for intenet connections. This thing has NEVER moved along so quickly! YEAH!!!!
