We booked in Dec 2004, but then we also booked one for Dec 2005 at the same time so that eased the pain a bit. :teeth: It is still a long wait from year to year. :bored: :hourglass The DIS gets us thru it though. :surfweb:

That must be why the three months seemed to drag by, I didn't have DIS!! I'm sure the time will fly. We're off to church, we have family night on Wednesdays. Tonights theme is Luau. It should make us forget about the snow outside. :)

The fires in CA sound scary, you guys out there stay safe.

Actually, you DON'T have to belong to AAA to get the AA AAA Family Plan. ;) We haven't belonged to AAA in over 10 years & have used that plan for four years. :)

ROFL! :) The second time we used it the rep asked for our AAA number & wouldn't let me get it. I questioned her because the cruise we were going on in a month had that same coverage & I was told that we didn't need to belong to AAA. Well, then she tried to tell me that our current coverage was null & void & we needed to pay for another policy...or the difference in cost between the two. I was so upset that I hung up on her. I called back when I calmed down & asked to talk to a sup. The rep asked if she could help & I told her of the previous call. She said that person was wrong & booked our next cruise with the AAA plan. :)

Gosh Lisa, maybe you got the very very very nice lady that I spoke with.

I kept waiting for them to ask for my AAA member number, but they never even asked. Hmmm...

Guess I can start making my door signs and t shirts to make this time go by quicker. Better to do this fun stuff than the painting and other oddities that I've been slacking on.

:rotfl2: For some reason, every time you write that, it makes me laugh. It really conveys how "nice" she was.

Yes, the DIS is what helps me get through the wait! Our last cruise was booked like 20 months before and I thought I'd never make it. This one was a little better...I think 18 months.

Well, right now I'm sitting here reading the DIS with a pint of Ben and Jerry's "The Gobfather." Okay, I'll defend myself by clarifying....there was only a tiny bit left when I pulled it from the freezer (thanks DH!) and I didn't want to dirty a bowl since I figured I'd polish it off while enjoying all your posts.......mmmmm, yummy! :p

DH had to go to Orange County yesterday and he said he could see a portion of the fire. He said the ashes were everywhere in OC, and that's saying something...it's a huge county! We lived in the Laguna Canyon area in '94 when they had those huge fires. I'll have to admit, that was the most scared I've ever been. I remember driving down a street near our home and I could see huge flames literally on every ridge I turned my head to look at. It was terrifying. We had the car packed up and then encountered grid lock where all you could do was watch the flames. I don't ever want to experience that again, although where we live now, it's a possibility...we basically back up to an ecological preserve called the Santa Rosa Plateau....there's lots and lots of flora there. Eeek!

I guess it's my time on the thread. I would've been on earlier, but I was watching Idol and Lost. Today was actually hot...80's I think.

I have so many other things going on in my life right now that I don't have much time to think about the cruise, except when I'm on here. It's a nice little island of peacefulness that definitely relaxes me.

Okay. Here's some dreaming about the movies that will be on board in December....I'm just speculating and having a little fun to see how many actually make it....

Pirates--Dead Man's Chest
Cars
Meet the Robinson's (Computer Animated)
The Mel Gibson-directed movie don't remember the name

Of course, I only saw one movie on board this last time. I didn't even see Narnia....

Good morning everyone!!!

I hope everyone is feeling okay. Lots of sickness going around in my office.

Jordan - hope you guys are okay out there. I can't imagine what it is like to have fires close by your house. You are in our prayers.

Speaking of fires - a friend of a friend asked me if I had any clothes for a family who's house burned to the ground...nothing left. Mom, Dad, 2 kids. So, I sent emails to all my friends, went home that night and you wouldn't believe all the clothes that we got together in 2 days. The response was overwhelming.

One of my friends responded with this verse - 1 Peter 4: 10 -- As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. And I just think about how true that is.

So many give so unselfishly - whether helping a neighbor, saying a prayer for someone in need, always being a friend. And here on the Disboards, it is so nice that so many people seem to care so much about each other - from wishing each other a happy birthday...to asking about a sick family member...

guess I'm just saying thanks!! Thanks for spreading the love.

Not sure why I feel so sentimental this AM...maybe I'm just so darn grateful for everything in my life!!

love ya guys!!

Very nice post, Karen. :grouphug:

Well, DS was still coughing...constantly...yesterday so I took him out of school early & went to the doctor. The poor kid had a bad sinus infection. The antibiotic helped him stop coughing almost right away. :) He was doing much better this morning. :) I ordered our train tickets last night too. Lost was great last night. :) Can't wait to see Survivor tonight. I hope that I can catch up on it since we missed it last week.

Hey Karen--
What a sweet post. I haven't been around all that long, but everyone here is very accepting and helpful. It will be a whole different experience to go on a cruise with people I "know". :grouphug:

Here's get well wishes for you DS...sinus infections are not fun, especially when you're a kid!!!

Speaking of LOST....wow! I'm just dying to know where this whole thing is going. Charlie completely shocked me, completely! And the whole Sawyer thing...scammer. I'm wondering what's going on with Walt and Michael. Should be interesting!!!

I feel so out of touch. We don't watch any of those TV shows! :confused3 We watch old Seinfeld reruns twice every night! :teeth: Well, I do confess that we occasionally watch Idol.

I have just updated the website with everyone's info that I have received to this point. If you sent information & didn't get an email with the site link, please pm me. :)

I have heard back from the Costa Maya tour group. He says that he can do the abreviated tour of the ruins with a site seeing tour of Chacchoben. It will last 4 hours. The cost is $43 per person, $40 per child under 12. I have asked for a date when we need to give him a head count & how he processes payment. I have also requested a morning tour so that we will get back to the ship early afternoon.
