As I told Jordan on the last cruise's thread, I walked around in pain for years before I finally woke up one morning not able to get out of bed feeling like I was having back labor for a third time...without being pregnant. My doctor referred me to an orthopedic surgeon but I cancelled that appointment & went to the chiro. IDK when I injured my back so badly but the xrays were terrible! I had 2 45 degree angles in my spine & a disc was twisted 90 degrees in my neck...which was actually causing the carpul tunnel in both my arms. It took a while, but I was finally able to live with little to no pain & I could pick up my kids again. I would definitely recommend at least an evaluation to see if there is something wrong that isn't going to fix itself. I will never be 100% again but I can keep up with it & manage well.

Lisa,
Your right. I need to go. I call tomorrow and get looked at. It feels like a muscle strain not a spine problem, but you never know! Thanks for the convincing.
Mark

Hey, it was worth any price for my DD to hold my hand without cringing in pain.

I am just absolutely amazed. I could not get on again until late tonight, and what catching up I had to do - Wow! We are putting the '05 thread to shame.

Jordan, our sincere condolences to you and your family.

Why did I think we needed passports in '06 - is that incorrect? I could swear that the customs person at immigration when we disembarked told us we would need them?

Of course, I would not be able to even catch up with all of you if I did not have a laptop and wireless in my house. I need to be able to watch a 5 year old and then a puppy while trying to read this and watching James Bond on AMC. BTW - I am an Apple guy - PowerBook laptop. Apple is doing great things, and yesterday released new Intel powered laptops. Easiest computer to use, and just read consumer Reports about quality and consumer satisfaction. I do have to use a Windoze machine at work.

As to schools - it is the same everywhere. Many of you know I am a school board member. 10% of the parents do 90% of the work, and take responsibility. We also can never get parents to support our ballot issues so we can fund schools.

It is a sad but true state of parenthood in our country. Then they all blame the school if their children don't learn, while they never participate in their education. I could go on and on. Next month I get to go to Washington with the Ohio delegation for the National School Board Association to try and get our national legislators to financially support what they mandate to us.

John

Wow its 9:00 and I only missed two post. :hyper2: Where is everyone? I just got back from church. I put the kids to bed got a bowel of cereal and here I am. Now where is everyone?
Mark

West coasters where are you? Is everyone already asleep? HELLO.... CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

It just took me a while to read the last couple of pages. I go to the chiropractor and take the boys. It only costs us $30 and we only pay$10 a visit for the kids. DH has a bad back and my neck hurts often. Is there a chiropractor near WDW that isn't too much. When I drive for a while it hurts really bad and the last time I flew, It hurt so bad I wished someone would have thrown me out the window, would have felt better.
Lisa I came from a town of 250 people, there was 12 kids in my kindergarten class and 12 in the 12th grade, 8 were the same. Now I live in really big city of 5,000. My frien grad. with 2000 in here grade lol. gotta find more to read on wdw, I'm having withdrawls. DH had to work again tonight after today, last night and yesterday. But I'll get my disney fix in. lol.

Jordan and Wendy, so sorry to hear about your aunt. Wendy's mom???
We will be praying for all of you. How comforting to know she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Tammie

I'm sorry ladies and gentlemen, but it doesn't get any better. I was the room mom, team mom, etc. - all the way up to Sr. party mom in charge of putting together the grad night to keep them off the streets. Huge function with lots of fund raising - always got the same handful of parents all through school. DH was always the coach, etc.

We got the, "I'm busy, I work, I have kids," as if the rest of us didn't??? You can be proud that you care enough about your kids to be there for all of them - don't burn out :scared1:

Tammie, My mom and Wendy's dad are brother and sister. Their older sister, our aunt passed away. I think we're all doing good. I talked to my mom a few hours ago and she seemed like she was fine. My aunt lived a long and fruitful life...

Thanks to all for the support. I would've never thought in a million years I would make friends with people from the internet--some I have yet to meet in person...again thanks..

And now back to posting......

I could try posting a few more.......

That's quite a few posts of meaningless text...so I'll let this one slide..

Good night all...

Good morning all...trying to turn it into one anyway. I planned to scrap today at the local shop but since I have been up since 5:30 am I am reconsidering that. I might just come home & take a nap after dropping the kids off first.

Caroline--I don't know if youv'e already left for FL or not but have a great time with your girls. What a special thing to do that they won't forget!!!

It's looking like another beautiful day in Iowa. Yesterday it was sunny and 50. Today it's supposed to be 47 and partly cloudy. I'll take this in January anytime.

Dutch

Same kind of day here in T.O., we are cloudly and 41 degrees, tomorrow it will be 45 degrees. Feels odd, since December was very snowy and cold, right up until the 23rd.

Still raining here. Lots of concern about flooding now. 11 days into January and we already have half of the amount of rain we usually have for the whole month....and more on the way for at least the next week. We all are having flashbacks to 1996. MY DN (SpoiledBrats3 who will be sailing with us) has moved the things that mean alot to her out of her house. She lost everything to water that was over 4 ft high in her house in 1996. The weather forecasters are trying to reassure us as we are not having the snow melt that the warm weather of 1996 brought with the massive amounts of rain, but when we see rivers already over their banks and nothing but heavy rain in the forecast we get anxious. :scared:

Too many people competing for the computer last night. I could not get on. :sad1: We will be sooooooo happy when we are able to get something other than dial up. We are rural and nothing else available yet. :(
