YEAH!!! I DID IT
I DID IT
I DID IT

Jodie - the address is on the main cruise page...in FAQ post....if I didn't have to run I'd paste it here.

See y'all after the next 56 pages you guys post tonight!!

I guess I should let you guys know what I have been up to since apparently there was a rumor that I was being held hostage by DH. ;)

After this weekend’s posting frenzy I was just really, really tired plus I was really busy at work so the earliest chance I had to get back on the computer to check in was last night. I was 48 hours and 1,000 posts behind! I probably would have posted more last night while catching up but I was still tired and I had a stressful evening. So stressful that while catching up was fun it was not the normally relaxing stress reliever it normally is.

The headlights on DH’s car have gone out and we don’t know why so after work he drove his car over to the mechanics and I was going to meet him to pick him up after I ran to the grocery store after work to pick up some stuff for our work goodie day today. It was dreary and raining and just kind of a yucky day. I had been planning on cooking some grilled fish with veggies for dinner but when I realized how late we were running I knew that it would be difficult to get the kids home and get dinner made before they were extremely cranky and starving.

We then had the brilliant idea to eat dinner out. DH’s first thought was to just swing by Wendy’s and pick up some fast food for home. We should have stuck with that idea. Our next idea was Red Lobster since they are having their endless shrimp promotion and DH really, really wanted to go there. It was later than we would normally go out to eat so we had a bit of a wait. Neither kid seemed to be in a stellar mood while waiting but I figured once we got seated and got something to eat things would be better.

While we were waiting a booth opened up that you cannot use a high chair at because it is in a high traffic zone. The hostess asked us if DD could sit in a booster seat. She sits in one at home and does fine (although she is strapped in there) and since we thought they would settle down once we got some food we agreed. (I can hear the laughter of more experienced parents now…) DD was antsy but somehow we managed to keep her in her seat for about 3 minutes. We had ordered and managed to get our salads and the kids got their applesauce. Allie decided that 4 big messy bites was enough for her and she wanted up. Then DS said he had to go to the restroom so DH and I switch places so he can take Nathan to the restroom and I can play defense with Allie. She starts to thrash around and ends up partially sliding under the table and at such an angle that she is kind of wedged between the table and the booster seat all while I have a hold of one of her arms. I keep pulling her up and she keeps sliding down and starting to pitch a huge fit because I keep telling her “No”. :furious: Things just kept escalating and by the time DH got back to the table we had to tell our waitress to just pack up our food because we had to leave. DH took Allie to the car while DS and I waited for our meals. So much for endless shrimp…DH was really upset about that. :sad2:

I was just mortified and angry and getting progressively more worried about our trip where every meal we have to eat out! We have been eating out with the kids since DS was about 3 weeks old and we have NEVER had to leave a restaurant for the kids’ behavior. A few times we have taken the kids out at the end of the meal and one of us stays behind to take care of the check but nothing like this. Unfortunately DD’s behavior continues to get worse in this area and I am really afraid we have made a mistake with this cruise. I just don’t want to fight with her all the time and I am afraid we will be. I know you guys say you can entertain her and that may work for a while but there are times (more than I care to imagine) where she just has it in her head that she does not want to sit still and no amount of entertainment will work.

I was actually considering just seeing if we could leave Allie with my parents for the week but I just don’t think I could do that. This is a family vacation and I don’t want to leave a big part of our family out. I know she will enjoy a lot of things so I think the guilt would kill me. Of course dealing with her may as well….

Anyway I am still pretty stressed out about her behavior and I can only hope and pray that she gets better in the next two months.

Well I need to get going because DH got a call from the mechanic and his car is fixed so I need to pick him up and get him over there before they close. Hopefully tonight will be better and I hope to have a chance to catch up.

Now after reading about how my night went last night don't you guys feel bad for being so mean to me? I really thought I must have missed something and it was stressing me out! I actually went back and did a search on Brandi's posts to see what I could have missed. :sad2:

Becka - Haley is the same way, she sits still for a few minutes and that is it. Heck I can't even get her into a shopping cart these days. I am hoping Flounder's has some extra evening hours! But I wouldn't stress about it. Maybe we can start our own coconut races around the dining room (I can hear the groans now)....just kidding!

I just checked my ressie....no upgrade. I was doing a little wishful thinking this morning.

I was doing the same wishful thinking as you. I really want some extra pixie dust. Well I will just keep wishing. And I hope your wishes come true as well as mine.

you still could be you never know!

(I checked too!)

My TA's assistant didn't call today about switching to a 6. I think I may just not do it and use the $ back (with add'l) for a deposit on another cruise.
Using it for another cruise sounds like a great idea!!!

Ok, I would but...I can't send packaged foods over the boarder, needs FDA approval. Even for private gifts. But I can send spiked homemade brownies without FDA approval. What's up with that!

Don't you all get the Cadbury Creme Eggs down there? I thought they started down there? And the Smarties are different? Cool never knew. If I remember I will bring a couple of boxes down with in December.

Pj

We have the Cadbury, it's the chocolate Smarties for Tana! :Pinkbounc

What!!?! yogurt rules! Now, Cottage Cheese, well, let's not go there.... :sad2:
when my kids were younger, they called cottage cheese "daddy cheese" because he absolutely refuses to eat spoiled milk. They also called macaroni & cheese "mommy cheese" because we used to eat so much of it when I would get home from work.

Of course, when I went back, now I can see it . . .

That stupid pumpkin is driving me nuts . . .

Also, did any of you notice she totally mistook my meaning? I did not mean she would not KNOW directions, my comment meant that (and correct me women if I am wrong) but a husband would rather drive in circles for an hour before asking his wife for directions. That's how stubborn we can be!

So honey, you can appologize when I get home tonight after my school board meeting tonight - and also appologize since you logged in as me, you now lost my place!

I did find a spanking smiley, but, well, you know...

Becka - she will be fine. I had an identical experience when our DS was her age. It was also at Red Lobster...we ended up taking turns eating alone while the other was in the lobby. She will probably be so exausted and hungry by dinner time she will be just fine. Please don't stress about it!
