I have choir tonight. I will be out. I think we will watch a movie after I get home. If I don't check back tonight I will catch you crazy kids in the morning!!!

Thanks for all the tips on taking care of tips, etc, for Mom and Dad. I don't have their ressie # (it's not the same as ours), but I may be able to get it from Mom... she knows I've been on DCL's site to set up kids for the clubs but she hasn't done anything online... so I could offer to do that for her. Or I could check with her travel agent...

Great job Jill! I think I would just die if I began thinking about cruise clothes right now! Procrastinators just can't DO that!! :teeth:

I have no choice, i live in wisconsin. I have been buying stuff for the last 2 months. i just wish i knew what size i will be wearing by cruise time. i may have to shop in florida. i am hoping to have another 40 pounds off by the time we leave, which would then make it 150 lost since june.

I guess I should let you guys know what I have been up to since apparently there was a rumor that I was being held hostage by DH. ;)

After this weekend’s posting frenzy I was just really, really tired plus I was really busy at work so the earliest chance I had to get back on the computer to check in was last night. I was 48 hours and 1,000 posts behind! I probably would have posted more last night while catching up but I was still tired and I had a stressful evening. So stressful that while catching up was fun it was not the normally relaxing stress reliever it normally is.

The headlights on DH’s car have gone out and we don’t know why so after work he drove his car over to the mechanics and I was going to meet him to pick him up after I ran to the grocery store after work to pick up some stuff for our work goodie day today. It was dreary and raining and just kind of a yucky day. I had been planning on cooking some grilled fish with veggies for dinner but when I realized how late we were running I knew that it would be difficult to get the kids home and get dinner made before they were extremely cranky and starving.

We then had the brilliant idea to eat dinner out. DH’s first thought was to just swing by Wendy’s and pick up some fast food for home. We should have stuck with that idea. Our next idea was Red Lobster since they are having their endless shrimp promotion and DH really, really wanted to go there. It was later than we would normally go out to eat so we had a bit of a wait. Neither kid seemed to be in a stellar mood while waiting but I figured once we got seated and got something to eat things would be better.

While we were waiting a booth opened up that you cannot use a high chair at because it is in a high traffic zone. The hostess asked us if DD could sit in a booster seat. She sits in one at home and does fine (although she is strapped in there) and since we thought they would settle down once we got some food we agreed. (I can hear the laughter of more experienced parents now…) DD was antsy but somehow we managed to keep her in her seat for about 3 minutes. We had ordered and managed to get our salads and the kids got their applesauce. Allie decided that 4 big messy bites was enough for her and she wanted up. Then DS said he had to go to the restroom so DH and I switch places so he can take Nathan to the restroom and I can play defense with Allie. She starts to thrash around and ends up partially sliding under the table and at such an angle that she is kind of wedged between the table and the booster seat all while I have a hold of one of her arms. I keep pulling her up and she keeps sliding down and starting to pitch a huge fit because I keep telling her “No”. :furious: Things just kept escalating and by the time DH got back to the table we had to tell our waitress to just pack up our food because we had to leave. DH took Allie to the car while DS and I waited for our meals. So much for endless shrimp…DH was really upset about that. :sad2:

I was just mortified and angry and getting progressively more worried about our trip where every meal we have to eat out! We have been eating out with the kids since DS was about 3 weeks old and we have NEVER had to leave a restaurant for the kids’ behavior. A few times we have taken the kids out at the end of the meal and one of us stays behind to take care of the check but nothing like this. Unfortunately DD’s behavior continues to get worse in this area and I am really afraid we have made a mistake with this cruise. I just don’t want to fight with her all the time and I am afraid we will be. I know you guys say you can entertain her and that may work for a while but there are times (more than I care to imagine) where she just has it in her head that she does not want to sit still and no amount of entertainment will work.

I was actually considering just seeing if we could leave Allie with my parents for the week but I just don’t think I could do that. This is a family vacation and I don’t want to leave a big part of our family out. I know she will enjoy a lot of things so I think the guilt would kill me. Of course dealing with her may as well….

Anyway I am still pretty stressed out about her behavior and I can only hope and pray that she gets better in the next two months.

Well I need to get going because DH got a call from the mechanic and his car is fixed so I need to pick him up and get him over there before they close. Hopefully tonight will be better and I hope to have a chance to catch up.

:grouphug: I remember how frustrated I used to be when my DD was a toddler and did things like that. They do outgrow it but of course you want her to outgrow it by december. ;) Try not to fret about it though, I'm sure everyone will help you out with her and I'm sure the servers probably have some neat tricks up their sleeves to help out in situations like that. :grouphug:

The import/export book for postal services is huge, think IRS code huge, well sort of.

Awwww...that sounds so darn cute! Do they have a web site?

Brandi -- Do you have a little girl? It'll take me forever to log off the DIS and get over to AOL and check the cruise newsletter (yes.....still on Library computers). Anyway, if you do -- I'd be happy to bring a set of those pony tail holders for her!

Anyone else with a little girl who wants DIS lime green Tinkerbell pony tail holders? Just let me know -- pm is best. I may never get caught up and see your reply here.

Wow! 40,000 is closing in fast!!! :yay:

The kids put plastic flamingos on sticks in your yard. we had a total of 13 flamingos. as the year goes on, less and less flamingos are present--they tend to break pretty easy. It was really funny. they also leave a note with a phone number. it costs $10 for removal, $25 to flock someone else & $50 for removal & flocking insurance. it was all tax deductible

That would be so cool to see! Got any pics??

Forgot to ask all of you who have cruised DCL before: Have any of you seen Taylor Mason, the ventriloquist/comedian?

When I come back tomorrow, I'll tell you my midwest connection with him! :cool1:
