Tonight is Sunday School Teachers and Officers Meeting at my church. I decided to run for the president of the SS. I am very nervous. The woman who has been our president for the past few years has seriously dropped the ball lately. I have been doing a lot of praying and have decided to try and get elected. One of my good friends is running for the VP. We will be partners. I really don't want to anger this woman...but I don't think I can stand another 2 years with her "running the show." I don't really feel like geting into it all...but I think tonight will be the first she realizes that someone is running against her.
Brandi, lots of prayers for you today. Your cousin and family and now your decision to step up. Good for you.

Did Mark cruise with you guys before?
No, we just started talking early on. He and Jordan really bonded. They both were struggling with decisions about ministries at the same time.

I wish he were around more often...I don't fell like I know him like I know you guys!!!

So the airfare....I got tickets for all 3 of us for $805 total including booking fee on expedia. I had not yet seen ANY fares under $311 plus booking fees. I called United to see about using miles for DrHug and I, but they said $700 for Aaron to fly with us. :scared1: So, I went back on expedial one more time :sad2: and found $267 each including all the taxes, fees and booking. I can live with that. The only problem is we have two stops on the flight home. Orlando to Philadelphia (have never been there before) then to Denver then to Portland. AND we fly through Chicago on the way too Orlando which we do not like because we always get delayed there by weather. :sad2: Oh well, we will deal with it and it feels really good to be getting :donald: :donald: :donald:

He is very, very nice. I think he got really busy after he accepted the ministry because he also is still working as a firefighter and all those CA fires I am sure kept him hopping. Maybe he will rejoin us soon. I can send PM again in a couple of weeks and tell him we have lots of folks that have joined and want to get to know him.

We just had our first WW@Work session today. What bad timing! Halloween and Christmas are my favorite candy times .... candy corn, peeps and Christmas Ribbon. :woohoo:

Back to work! Oh, I got really nervous because I got an email from the Chief of Staff's secretary saying he wanted a report from me on a patient he had asked my boss to have me talk with on 9/14. :rolleyes1 I had no memory of talking with this patient, but I talk to hundreds in 2 weeks so....but nothing in his record even jogged my memory. I went to my boss this morning and told her that I was going to just have to tell the COS that I don't remember a thing about this. She then told me that she had given it to another advocate because it was a FRIDAY!!! when she got it (9/15)and I was not at work!! Whew!!! I thought I was having a MAJOR senior moment!! :)

What really bothers me is the man had a 7 year old daughter, same age as some of his victims. I just don't understand how he could've done something like this. It scares me that there are people like this in the world. :sad2:

Listening today I couldn't help but think that it was good the police spooked him so that he ended it sooner than later. As the Captain said, this man was going to kill everyone no matter what else happened, and the things he had planned to do to those girls were too terrible.

This morning while fixing the kid's lunches I thought how those children's mothers fixed their lunches yesterday morning like any other. :( Two of those who died were sisters. Another one in the hospital is a sister to one who died.

Listerine was originally meant to be used as a cleaner....of toilets I believe. :rotfl: I heard that on one of those fact shows.

I can see the connection with some people I know. :cool1:

I need to do some work before I leave for the day so I can have a somewhat clean conscience. I'll look in later. :badpc:

I have had a very stressful day. My DS decided at 3AM that he didn't want to go to preschool today. I literally put him back into be 5 times. He was whining around all morning. I got him dropped off...he was fine the moment he got inside! I headed to Sears to have Eliza's 9 month pictures. She was smiling and happy and the pictures were wonderful!!!!

My DMom went to pick up Jake so I didn't have to rush back home. Anyway, my DMom called me when I was done getting the pics to tell me my cousin (whom I am very close to) was taken to the hospital last night. She is a vet. She was bitten by a cat with a mysterious disease. The skin and fur were pulled right off of the cat when the tech had the scruff of the neck. The tech was freaking out, she was yelling for My DCousin. My DC ended up getting bitten. This happend to her once before when she was still a student at Ohio State. She was in the hospital for 4 days and that was just a healthy cat with a dirty mouth. This time she has no idea what is wrong with the cat. It had to be put to sleep and the head was sent out for testing.

I stopped at the hospital to see her on my way back from the pic's. She was still in the Emergency room. She was admitted...but the hospital is filled. This morning when she woke up her fingers were swollen and the red lines went to her wrist. Now the lines are up to her elbow. She is very concerned because she has no idea what the cat had ( non of the other dr's knew either...they had never seen anything like it before.) and her condition is getting worse. Please send prayers for my DCousin. She is a wonderful person who is in need of any prayers she can get.

Oh Brandi!!! Prayers on the way.....
