I have had a very stressful day. My DS decided at 3AM that he didn't want to go to preschool today. I literally put him back into be 5 times. He was whining around all morning. I got him dropped off...he was fine the moment he got inside! I headed to Sears to have Eliza's 9 month pictures. She was smiling and happy and the pictures were wonderful!!!!

My DMom went to pick up Jake so I didn't have to rush back home. Anyway, my DMom called me when I was done getting the pics to tell me my cousin (whom I am very close to) was taken to the hospital last night. She is a vet. She was bitten by a cat with a mysterious disease. The skin and fur were pulled right off of the cat when the tech had the scruff of the neck. The tech was freaking out, she was yelling for My DCousin. My DC ended up getting bitten. This happend to her once before when she was still a student at Ohio State. She was in the hospital for 4 days and that was just a healthy cat with a dirty mouth. This time she has no idea what is wrong with the cat. It had to be put to sleep and the head was sent out for testing.

I stopped at the hospital to see her on my way back from the pic's. She was still in the Emergency room. She was admitted...but the hospital is filled. This morning when she woke up her fingers were swollen and the red lines went to her wrist. Now the lines are up to her elbow. She is very concerned because she has no idea what the cat had ( non of the other dr's knew either...they had never seen anything like it before.) and her condition is getting worse. Please send prayers for my DCousin. She is a wonderful person who is in need of any prayers she can get.

I love that Wonder kids lline of clothes from Kmart. The cottons are really nice. But I think they have cut back on producing it.

I guess it gives Sears stores in markets where they don't have a store but the shelves always seem really poorly stocked - I don't know if Sears will keep them open or not.

Jake had some wonder kids clothing already and it was nice. Our kmart is very small and you can barely fit through with a cart. It makes shopping with the kids a real pain...that is why I never go there. He was given it as gifts...like I said...it was nice.

I'm not Becka, but my kids have all started about age 2. Of course, when your MIL is a dental hygienist you don't want to mess that up. Poor DD8 has really bad teeth (probably my fault because I didn't take enough vitamins or drink enough milk while pregnant). She's had a number of cavities already. DD13 is great, and so far DS3 is great.

We started them at around 2 also. I also started with a Ped dentist, but I got tired of driving 30 minutes away and he was only down this way limited days and hours. Taking the kids out of school was getting more difficult to go to the dentist. So now they go to my dentist and he absolutely loves them. They all are really good.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I thought of that too. :rotfl: Some poor family looked at the DD.com site and thought "Hey! If we all wear these green shirts I will be able to spot the kids easily in the crowded terminal!" :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So yesterday came and went. Loved all the smilies.

(i probably won't get a chance to check in again till tonight but wanted to share.)

My doctor called though with results of my Sleep (no-sleep) study. I say no sleep because the rooms weren't very sound-proof at all. 1) there were tons of crickets right in bushes outside the window. (my brm at home is on 3rd floor so cricket noise is never that bad) 2) The techs were using a microwave to heat their meals in a room right next door to mine and you could hear the beeping. I think they had cell phone going off too. 3) The other "sleep" guests kept needing to get up during the night and i could hear every time they opened/closed doors. 4) i could even hear the person in the room next to me snoring. 5) someone must have had oxygen on because i could hear that whoosh sound i kid you not every few minutes.

This was a torture study; not a sleep study... :sad2:

It's a wonder i had any results at all...

Anyway, they said i have moderate obstrutive sleep apnea and actually am getting lower o2 levels in deep sleep. :scared1: They said they wanted to have me come back for another test. (As if i'm going back to that location!!! It'll be a cold day with my mp3 and ear plugs before that happens.)

Well don't post too many more pages today. Have to keep up ya know... :smooth:
What a PITB....I hope your next test goes better!!!!

OK all you crockpot experts....what do I do with this situation?

I love my crockpot but most of the recipes call for something to cook 6-8 hours on low. That is great except I leave the house a little after 7:00 in the morning and the earliest anyone is home to turn off the crockpot is 5:00. 10 hours is just too long and things get dried out. I really want to be able to use my crockpot more this winter and I even found some suitable WW friendly recipes but I don't want overdried chicken, etc.. Can I just add twice the water to keep things from overcooking? Any ideas?

My DD had dark spots on her teeth also. We were told they were just stains though.

DS's teeth were another story, by the time he was 2 he had to have his top 4 teeth pulled and 4 other teeth needed root canals and caps on them because of "baby bottle decay" :sad2: Made me feel horrible.

We have gotten them yearly cleanings ever since, which reminds me I really should get an appointment soon for this year's cleaning.

Dody, that sounds like something hereditary. Some kids are born with stronger teeth than others no matter how good you take care of them.

Brandi - there is a free character meet and greet at Epcot - open only to Disney Visa card holders. I believe you also get a free pic with it too. It was being offered in the afternoon at either the east or west Innoventions pavilion. That offer also may be ending now that the happiest celebration is ver. But it was a nice benefit.

Don't forget the discounts at WDW with the visa. World of Disney, tours, boat rentals etc.

Listerine probably still has some alcohol in it - most of them did/do. check the label or call their customer service line.

Hydrogen peroxide is a great bacteria cleansing rinse. Dilute it with water - it's great for the gums and tongue - brush the tongue a little too. It's a little nasty tasting but not too bad - drink a little clear water after. and very cheap!!

Listerine was originally meant to be used as a cleaner....of toilets I believe. :rotfl: I heard that on one of those fact shows.

Becka when did you start taking the kids to the dentist? I need to get on that.
My DS 3 had his checked when I had my last cleaning. When I get my next cleaning in about 3 months he will get his cleaned for the first time.

Brandi, :grouphug: , prayers and pixiedust: for your cousin and your family...I hope they can figure out what is wrong. It almost sounds like a case from "House."

I just add more liquid. I seriously have never had anything get dry in the crock. It usually cook from 7 - 4:30...same time frame. Although....I use frozen meat instead of thawed meat..which means it needs a longer cooking time.

When I worked at the restaurant in HS and College...we mixed water, dawn, and listerine to clean the tables.

I never saw "House"....but I am now hoping that the people in those cases turn out ok.

Becka - we stayed at AKL in Jan. for the kids 5th birthday. It is a great resort with 2 great restaurants. But if you are not able to spend time enjoying all the activities offered and have a chance to dine in Jiko or BOMA , it might not be worth the money.

I am a big advocate of splitting your stay. You do have to buy a full price one day ticket with each package or you could do room only.

We just were over at AKL on this last trip to eat at BOMA and they have several new activities for kids there including a sat. 4 hour camp and a ceramics class. The CM's from South Africa are great with the kids.

We had the dining plan for one part of the trip and no dining for the other - I just don't enjoy having all those big sit down meals. On this last trip, we had so many leftover counter service and snacks. We started going to signature restaurants just to use up the credits without investing the time into big meals.

have fun deciding. Most of the moderate resorts are really large and you should try and request a room close to the main building.

Well, my best friend has a much newer and nicer crockpot that has additional settings/timers. I think you can delay the start, or have it automatically switch to "keep warm" after cooking. That would work... My very small-tech crockpot can't work that way! (And now the DIS Geek peer pressure squad says "Get the new crockpot! More settings! Digital readout!! Auto-switch to warm!")
