John - the author again please? I can't find my piece of paper for that scifi author and I thought I had added it to my library queue and I can't locate it. :guilty: Then I thought I had ordered it from Barnes and Noble - nope.

did any read that we might get to see the shuttle launch on the 8th or maybe even the 9th. as of right now the launch is schedule for the 7th of dec at night but nasa stated that because of it being a night launch it could easily end up being delayed

Jill

Hello Jill. I really hope that it doesn't launch on 12/9. The traffic hassles that I have read about sound awful & not a great way to start the cruise.

Is it worth reading non-double dip navigators for the same port days? I wondered whether some of the activities would be the same and assist with planning.

So sorry DD had to miss the team picture. Here's what you can do. Ask at the next game she can attend if the kids will pose with her and take a picture yourself! DDs team did this in the spring because they only do the professional ones in the fall.

I already planned that. ;) I will ask the company for a mat and have her make up picture done on 10/21 then put the real team picture there as a 5x7. It is her first one so I really wanted her to be there.

April...will you really be able to keep your big news a secret until the cruise??? I could never keep a secret like that from my mom and dad for that long!

We found out about DS in February. We didn't tell either parent until April when we made trips to both houses a week apart. LOL! I had to make sure that I had on leggings and a big baggy shirt & sat down alot until they were both home & we could tell them.

One thing you have to remember, we sail at 5:30 and the launch that time I think was around 7:30 - so we were not RIGHT there. But we did get to see it very clearly from deck 10 as it took off North of us, as we were sailing down the coast.

Did you have late dining then, John?

Shirley has noted to expect it to take twice as long to get anywhere with the shuttle traffic.

Regarding the library, I have read that there is an exchange bookshelf in the Cove Cafe.

I don't think it will be to hard to keep hidden because we live 3+hours away and I will only see them probably a few times till we cruise... I still cannot BELIEVE it...

So how are all the injured and ill children??????????????? Oh and adults that had a little extra OOOO Wine?

I meant that you wont be able to hide it for long on the ship. No wearing a bathing suit and hiding the little bump. ;)

Both DH and I drove it. I have long legs and he has a long torso so that is why we commented on the seat adjust. I am always moving the seat back while he moves it forward. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the info Carla. For the first time in years, I am having a problem deciding on a car. One thing I do love about this current car (Ford Freestyle) is the memory function on the seats. All I have to do is push a button to change from Amy to me. Amy is a good deal shorter than I am, so this helps a lot.

I want to wait to see what the new Ford Edge is like, but our lease is up in mid-Oct. I think I will tell the dealer that he needs to figure out how we can at least try it. I thought about the Escape hybrid, but while I love the gas mileage, I have heard the power is VERY lacking with the small engine.

DW would like a Volvo XC90 (not a vulva Kim), but I called to get pricing, and it is just about ridiculous. That vehicle costs more than our first house did.

Then I get ready to say the heck with it, we'll just buy a sedan, but then I wonder how we will get to the beach once a year with all that STUFF. Decisions, decisions . . .

Not sure which one we were talking about . . .

Maybe Robert A. Heinlen?

Books . . . "Time Enough for Love" one of my favorites, but you may want to read "Methusala's Children" first - it is actually a short novel that the second one took off from.

Heinlen was a contemporary of authors like Isaac Asimov - another one of my favorites. Heinlen also wrote "Stranger in a Strange Land".

Oh yeah, just remembered, I also mentioned the book "A Canticle for Lebowicz" which is another one of my favorite SF books from long ago. A classic.

Kim, I think you would like these too, if you haven't already read them.

I could really go for a pumpkin frappachino.

Amy just said she has been getting these lately. I think Amy likes frappa "anything".
