DD's cough is MUCH better! She doesn't sound like a seal anymore and her real voice is back! :thumbsup2 As for DD7's shoulder, she was a bit stifdf when she woke up, but is feeling better as the day goes on. Of course she wore the neck brace on and off at the softball game today. My how she loves attention!

So glad that croup is getting better and glad your dd7 is enjoying the attention, at least there's a plus to her getting hurt!

Ruley3 - we hav enot been introduced - I have been in Florida but I wanted to say congrats!!! on your potential new addition. I have several friends who just had their third and a baby shower tomorrow.

Really good news is when you have 2 boys and you get a girl. that is fun!!
I hit the twin jackpot - boy/girl twins.

keep us posted!!!

Carla - thanks for asking about me - I am sorry to hear that you have been ill. Luckily for me I have been only a little ill but mostly trying to dry out my cough/cold in WDW.

PS. Hubby just booked his hotel in New Orleans - I wish I would get to go but doubtful with the kids in school. I'm not even sure how many of the good restaurants are left at this point.

good morning all

well we finally booked our hotel for friday. we are staying at ron johns. it actually works out better for us since we have 14 people going in our group. we only needed 2 rooms instead of 4 at the other hotels.

did any read that we might get to see the shuttle launch on the 8th or maybe even the 9th. as of right now the launch is schedule for the 7th of dec at night but nasa stated that because of it being a night launch it could easily end up being delayed

Jill

I will be hoping for the 8th, please not on the 9th, I need to make my way to that ship bright and early....... :moped: :moped: I have to finalize something very important :rotfl: :rotfl:

We're planning to take the kids to see Open Season today. It looks like a cute movie.

Well this was where we were today! My DS 11 Loved it and giggled the whole time! Lance did ok but he did better with CARS!!!

ok well Brandi does not like my idea of taking my sewing with me to hotels. Believe me it is not my first choice for relaxation (and I will not be taking it on the cruise - LOL) but I do feel like I have crossed an item off the agenda when I do sew something that has the seam out after one wearing and I am mad about not getting it worn again.

I, on the other hand, am totally opposed to yard sales. Am I the only one? - Carla, you're often with me!!! It's just not worth the effort to make $60. with all the effort Brandi put in on the baking. We have so little free time - I just recycle or give away stuff we don't want. We have felt really good about putting LPO (large plastic objects) with a big FREE sign at the end of our driveway and knowing it is going to any home just not ours - LOL.

Actually, the last time we did this someone took the FREE sign that the kids had painted and hubby was mad about that. LOL.

Think about all that extra pricing time you would have if you weren't having yard sales. ;)

That being said, I thought the kids might get a kick out of actually returning our soda cans to the grocery and getting the deposit money back for the cruise. We usually just put them all in the recycling. I think NY is the last state that still collects the deposit - crazy process.

Life just moves too quicky for bottle deposits.

You know, I don't even want to think about how you check that!

Bad enough you guys had to talk about the scissors, now you tell me they have to check to see if you are shooting blanks? No thank YOU!

All I can see is it is worth that effort to be able to relax and not have to worry about any souvenirs. ;)

Holy cow...we do not turn anyone away!!!! I am serious. Not just where I teach...all of the schools in our area! We love love love band kids! I have never heard of a kid getting turned away before college! Maybe from jazz band or something because they only need a certain amount of each instrument. I am seriously in shock from your comment!

Layne is already playing the clarinet and to switch to Sax you must audition and the teacher will be receiving reports from the core subject teachers and he must have an A avg in Band to switch..... Kids wanting percussion also will have to try becasue there will be only 7spots for percussion. Everyone is welcome in band and band is divided into a few different periods but to change instruments becomes more detailed. I told him I would be happy with whatever he plays but he REALLY wants that tenor Sax spot.

They checked him 6 weeks after. Then they recheck 6 months later...to make sure nothing changed. Now he is totally free. He doesn't have to get checked again. How do you think they check!
Here is a magazine, give us a specimen. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Oregon collects deposit of 5 cents per can. We just let DD have the few we collect.

We have the Florida/Alabama game on and everytime I hear TOUCHDOWN FLORIDA! I have to smile and think of Vanessa! :cheer2:

This afternoon was "the crush" at our house. At the wineries that is a very exciting time when the grapes have been harvested and the wine making process begins. At our house it means Angie in the kitchen pulling grapes off the stems and mashing them with a potato masher for over 2 hours. They are all now crushed and waiting for DrHug to get the yeast in and get them working. This is the exciting time for me, NOT the "crush". ;) Our 40 lbs of grapes produced about 5 gallons of juice, seeds and peels. DrHug has found that with this type of grape you do not add any water and very little, if any, sugar so what we got is what we get. This will mean only between 3 and 4 gallons of wine when we are done and we will need to split that with the couple who arranged for the free grapes. We do have the white grapes coming tomorrow though, so we will have some of that also to enjoy next year.

We got a call this morning from DD #1 asking if we want to meet at 5 at the local Japanese restaurant for birthday dinner for DGD. YEP!! :thumbsup2 DGD is turning 11. Gotta go so we can stop off and get a card and gift.

Should we be concerned about hotel and car availability at the port? I guess we will get a car at the airport but so may a lot of others.
because of the shuttle launch I mean.

Thanks Angie!!

WE WON!!! YEAH!

We actually stayed home and its been great. I was able to get some things done around the house and we went to Home Depot before the game and bought a new mower. We also picked out our patio furniture. I am so shocked we found something we both liked...so we are picking that up next week.

About to go in the pool now. The rest of the Florida schedule is pretty tough......well the next couple weeks. I am hoping we tough it out and remain undefeated simply for the fact a NC on the 10th anniversary of our 1st NC would be awesome!!

I am sorry I missed the unveiling of the new Fl Ring though, they honored Spurrier, Wuerffel, E Smith and one other - inducted I should say. Oh well!

The weather is great - it was in the mid 80's today !!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Wish me luck in fantasy fball...I am playing Charming!

So I think I will be changing my excursion at Cozumel I know DH and I will not be swinging from any trees now! So can someone tell me about the jeep tour some of you are doing? Are you renting the jeeps private or thru an excursion company? Are any of you doing the island marketing company's excursions?

One thing you have to remember, we sail at 5:30 and the launch that time I think was around 7:30 - so we were not RIGHT there. But we did get to see it very clearly from deck 10 as it took off North of us, as we were sailing down the coast.

John1
I still think that would be awesome!!!
