Patsy - goodness I am lucky a million times over and not sure exactly what it is I ever did in my life to deserve any of it.

~I have an adoring husband who I am head over stilettos about.
~that adoring husband loves his girls (all three) with all his soul and would never let anything happen to us.
~two beautiful, smart and loving little girls.
~the fact that we can walk down to the beach and watch the sunset on any given day.
~ a roof over our heads that hasn't been destroyed by hurricanes (fingers crossed that it never is).
~we both have jobs and earn a steady income otherwise we would never be going on trips anywhere.
~caring friends, both in life and on the net who consistently make our day by having them around.
~my grandparents for raising me, showing me what true love really is.

gosh - there are so many things to be thankful for.....it's hard to nail them all down...I am getting teary eyed at work!

Thanks for making me stop and think for a moment about what is truly important in my life~~! ;)

I read this in someones sig line one time...
I think it's a great quote

Believe in Magic, Dream in Color, Live in Wonder

I'm thankful for good friend, good family, and good health
and sand, sun, seas!!

next time someone is on the DCL site would you check to see if the personal watercraft eco tour "double" is listed on Sunday...I can see it listed for Friday only on mine.

Thanks!

re: challenge

doing great on workouts this week - bad on eating.....
having a mexican FEAST for lunch right now!!!

V - what is this mexican cooking class you mentioned earlier?

under the Mexico excursions there is one listed as a cooking class I was wondering if this is new as I haven't heard or read about it in the main forum even.

Ok - just got a phone call finalizing some (not necessarily fun) things for me.

My old job (I left them in Feb - not enough money, not enough time at home) called and is taking me up on my offer (made in a short lapse of good judgement and generosity) to help them out if the new guy didn't pan out for them. They are letting him go and hiring someone that is starting on Oct 2. In the meantime (on short - less than 24 hr notice), I will be doing my old job then training her when she arrives. They actually offered the job back to me at the salary they are offering her, but that doesn't solve my time issue, so I said No (I LOVED being home this summer!)

My husband thinks I'm totally nuts for doing this. I like to think of it as not burning any bridges, keeping my options open, staying on top of my 'work' game, etc! LOL

SO, in summary...
Bad - less time here to play with my friends, exercise schedule may get nixed
Good - only temporary and during school hours (and see reasons above)
Better - negotiated a 30% raise in the daily rate that I charged them in August (filled in while he was on vacation for a week)
BEST - depending on how long it takes to train her, this $$ (plus the money made in August) will pay for most if not all of our cruise by the time I'm through with this assignment!!

hmm...I totally overlooked that when I was putting things on my wishlist (or maybe didn't even check, since I already had plans for the Mexico ports) - sounds fun!

are you thinking of not doing the jeeps? we're taking our kids btw - will just have to limit consumption! :)

Just had a really nice lunch at this hotel - Raddison in Worthington for you Buckeyes . . .

I have so much to be thankful for, that the list would be incredibly long.

Every time I get discouraged by my work, or other things in life, I find that I have to think of some of those things to balance my outlook. That's what keeps me going, and keeps my "keel" level.

One of the things that I am thanful for is that several years ago I found this web site, and have had the opportunity to meet some amazing and wonderful people to share a common interest with, and develop friendships with them!

That's just one . . .

Back to the seminar - we are going to get a presentation at 1:00 on fraud investigation techniques. I hear it will be entertaining. Maybe I can get one of our frauds to go on a DCL cruise, and I can monitor them on their excursions!!!

last time I attended a workers compensation seminar, I got home and my 2005 dodge van caught on fire. they have never figured out what happened but I told my employer I was going to file for workers comp since it happened because of the seminar. well I never could figure out how to get them to cover anything. insurance ended up paying for everything which was wonderful since we were very upside down on a lease that we combined into the van.

those seminars are always so much fun. I work in nonprofit with no real chance of much of a claim being filed. so I get to sit and listen to all the others in much bigger companies and lots of manufacturing people tell about all the hassles with the system.

I have been in my position for 15 years and have only filed two workers comp claims. both have been because of me. I fell down a set up metal steps and screwed up my knee before our last cruise. the other time I tore a rotator cuff while doing remodeling. I had to file all the paperwork since I am the finance person. it really was a pain.

John1 hope you are having a great time. :dance3:

it's great to hear that some people are still participating.

keep up the great work Dsharpe. the excercise is always where I can't seem to stick to it. I told DD & DH that if we don't start walking soon, the cruise excursions are going to really be hard to keep up with.

how do you insert a quote? I do a cut and paste & it is obvious I am not doing it correctly. thanks :confused3

I have been so busy here today I have not had a second to check in. By the way there are 85 days left until our cruise! :yay: I sure need it after today. We are having a production problem and one of our systems is down until we fix it or back out some changes I installed last night. All of this works in the test environment but won't work in the production environment. Aaararrrrrggggghhhh!

Brandi - I think you are already gone but I hope you have a great trip.

A co-worker of mine brought over the grocery ad to me because they now carry Disney Magic Selections Mickey Shaped Hamburger Patties and Mickey Shaped Cheddar Slices! :rotfl: They are on sale and I need to go to the grocery store anyway tonight so I think I might just have to pick some up. We can have Mickey burgers this weekend for dinner!

I will let you guys know about the jewelry when I get it. I hope it is as nice in person as it looks on Ebay but it will be hard to complain considering the price I paid.

I bought DD her new shoes yesterday and she loves them. She was so excited about them....she is such a girly girl. Her sandals magically disappeared last night ;) so this morning all that was out was her brand new tennis shoes. She couldn't wait to get them on this morning. Something tells me that new shoes may be a great bribe for her in a few years... ;)

I am so ready for GA to start back up. It is my #1 show right now. I wish they would show it Thursday night on the cruise. A Ladies Night Special.... ;)

I am also excited about Survivor starting back up again tonight.

Now that TV is back I will have to cut back on my DIS time but I am sure I will still be here way too much.

Caroline, right now Angie, Becka, and myself will be spending the morning at the Mickey pool. DH might decide to do something. :confused3 She is welcome to stay with us. DS would not mind. :goodvibes

Well I will have to check my spreadsheet to see if that is still the plan.....I can't remember! ;)

we just got TIVO, haven't set it up but I'm very excited!! I've been taping my soap opera daily and it's such a hassle.

Oh Tana - you just wait. I would shake my head when DH tried to convince me to get it. Now - WOW! What's nice is being able to pause and fast forward or rewind things. Whenever someone wants to talk or the phone rings, ya just pause and voia...start when you're ready. Taping is also very easy and you can program a season pass and it will record whenever it comes on....even if the network changes the day. I never believed in DH's desire to get Tivo, until we got it! This is the ONE TME he was right. And this is another time, I'm glad that DH isn't on these boards to read me admitting.

no I just wanted to learn a bit more about and maybe hear some reviews for next time.

I had to convince Amy too, because I am the gadget hound at home.

Last month she made me go out and get another one . . . :sad2:

Some of us just have no losses to report, sadly. And increases are really not something we need to report!

Ahh but you could still report activity hours....
