My best friend who moved to San Diego is waiting for her stuff to arrive so they can officially move in. She told me about a friend of hers who lives in Cape Cod, the last place they lived. This friend of hers has a teenage boy who got his lisence a little bit ago. She has always been worried and didn't let him drive much. Apparently, he was driving with 3 friends in the car around the base. They were down the street from home (on the actual street that my friend used to live) when some of the boys had the bright idea to "ride" the bumper. One of them fell of, cracked his head and died. :sad2: They couldn't have been going too fast as it is a residential area and the roads are a bit curvey. My friends feels extremely guilty that she can't be there for her friend, as her son is in shock from it all. I can't imagine being any of those parents right now. :guilty:

So very sad.

What a fun idea!!! Did you make the costumes or buy them? Do you have a pic to post?

We bought them from a costume website. Not very much money. No pictures though.. I am camera averse....

Yes,V, we were talking about how many not so bright ideas we had as kids. I always use this kind of thing as a seed in DD's head. One of them may just stick with her and save someone from this kind of tragedy.

Those poor parents.

It is a dark and dreary day today. Wish I was in bed reading.

How incredibly sad. It's weird how almost universal it is for teens (myself included)to feel invincible and do dangerous stupid things. I can't imagine the pain that family is feeling right now.

At the risk of sounding like I'm pushing drugs, you need to get that caffeine Brandi! You wouldn't want to miss DWTS tonight!!!
I am the choir director at our church. Wednesday night is my choir night :sad2: . I will be at church from about 6 - 9. I will miss the show! I am deciding if I want my DH to tape it or if I just want my DMom to give me a recap. The vote off night isn't as important to watch IMO. I love to see the dancing. There isn't much dancing on the second night KWIM?

I'm sure someone on here will be able to recap who was voted off. Rock Star Supernova ends tonight as well.

I am in the midst of planning a 50's party for our fiscal year end at work. I love the movie Grease so that is pretty much all I know about the 50's. The rest of my committee picked fried chicken and mashed potatoes for lunch, I thought hamburgers but oh well...outvoted. Now I am making the fliers.

We often end our days or start the mornings off with everyone in our bed. We talk and laugh and chat...its is so nice and cozy. As a mom, i'll take those moments for as long as my little boys are willing!!

Try to get some rest.
Jake and Eliza are with us in the morning doing the same sort of thing. I just mean...we don't want them in our bed all night..KWIM?

Does anyone notice we really don't get all that excited about the pirate: anymore?

What would Jordan say about us?

We still get excited but just for the bigger milestones now. We have so many of the hundreds' milestones that they don't seen as exciting anymore. :confused3

Brandi – I am sorry to hear that Eliza is waking up so much. I know that is no fun. How many teething tablets do you give her? We used to give DD 2-3 when she was that age right before bed and then another 2-3 if she woke up again. If she seemed to be in a lot of discomfort from teething we would also give her some infant motrin right before bedtime. Is it possible she might have an ear infection or something that could be causing her pain? They say the pain is worse at night when they are laying down.
I was giving her 2 tablets at bed time then one during the night. I think I will up the dose tonight. As for the ear infection. I thought about that but she doesn't have a fever and she has been fine all day. If she is up all night again I will call the Dr. I guess they can have an infection w/o a fever.

Pirates – I don’t think DH could carry off the pirate look very well for you guys. Besides I think I have him considering shaving off that beard so hopefully that won’t be a factor. ;)
:cool1: ;) Nice and smooth!
Driving to work this morning I noticed gas was down to 2.19/gallon. I hope it stays this low or lower by early December because that will save us quite a bit of money.
You are so lucky! Our gas is down also but it is down to 2.45 a gallon! We travel alot and for some reason our county has the highest gas! Even the county right below ours is usually about .10 per gallon cheaper! I wish we could have 2.19 gas!

Hey guys,

On the santa hat issue

DH is going to ABSOUTELY REQUIRE a Stitch Santa Hat. Any idea how I can get ahold of one before the trip? Are they available online somewhere?
Try Ebay! Especially as you get closer to Christmas.

Brandi, don't come closer to Philly for gasoline; we're still higher...
and I realized I'll miss the results show tonight, too, for PTO at the elementary school. Oh well.

I ran by Dillards at lunch to buy some shoes for DD and of course I had to check out the clearance racks while I was there. I ended up getting a pink princess tank top, a black skort and some adorable little pink sunglasses for DD. I also got two t-shirts for DS a red Scooby Doo and a navy T-Rex shirt. Without the shoes the total was just under $20 for the 5 items. I then headed over to the woman’s section and I found a shirt for pirate night for $11 on sale. :woohoo: It is a black tank with a sort of drapey wrap around it (all one piece kind of hard to describe) with a silver decorative medallion thingy right at the cleavage. I think DH will like it…. :rolleyes1 I figure I can pair it with black pants and some fun accessories and be done.

I would love one of those pirate mickey magnets as well. They are sooo cute!

Our gas is around $2.35 here, when just last week it was almost $3, wait until a storm gets nearer and it will shoot back up again. Luckily this weekend the Gators are away and we don't have to travel anywhere. I need to take time this weekend to rest and catch up on sleep and housework! It seems everything has been crazy busy lately.

Well, only 2pm....another day slowly dragging.....trying to get some work done but I am waiting on others to finish up their month end so I can get on with mine. With is closing the year next month we are keeping the ledger open longer this month to deal with issues but it puts everyone a little further back......

two more work days this week! Yippee!

DS never ran a fever with ear infections. One time we didn't know he had one until his eardrum burst. There are not many things scarier than seeing blood come out of your kids' ear. :scared1:

:thumbsup2

It wasn't all roses because once she was transitioned to a day bed (ie could climb out of crib; so side had to be removed.) We would have to stay with her until she fell asleep (sometime i would fall asleep first  ) or she would get up and play in her room.
When my DS went through that stage I would just let him get up. He would play for like 5 min then crash on the floor. I would then just put him into his bed. The getting up and playing thing only lasted a week or so.
