ESPN2 has the Little League World Series on right now and the team from the Midwest is one here from Columbia, MO. It is only the second team ever from Missouri to make the tournament. One of the VP's at my company is the Asst. Coach (and has a son who is a player) and another one of my co-workers sons is a player. It is pretty exciting! :)

ok, i can one up that.... (kinda a 7 degrees of seperation story)

The little girl who won "You've got talent show" was from Philadelphia. She is in the same dance class as my dsis's Step-dd. One of the winner's siblings has down-syndrome and goes to the same work program as one of our good family friends. Supposedly the winner's family is real nice and can use the million dollars.

P.S. Becka,

we lived in South Williamsport/Williamsport Area for 8 years before moving down here. I've been to a few of the LL games but the traffic and visitors are horrible around those two weeks.

I also personally know the woman who "portrays" Dug-out the World Series mascot. Her name is Kathy. She's nice and co-taught at the pre-school of the church i once worked at. Her DD is the same age as my DD and they were in Daisy scouts together and cheered for South Wmspt Pop Warner at the same time.

We go camping and vacationing with friends who always use turkey stuff. It is fine. I don't think turkey bacon is as good as regular.

afrea a couple smores, some rum and a few wines....it's all good!!

Look for the 6 pin sets for 9.99, then you also get 10% off, so around 2.00 per pin with shipping.

Pj

Also, if you go thru ebates, you will get another 4% back so it winds up being around 1.40 per pin...when those $10 sets get back in stock. :)

Love that stepping smilie! Wish that I could still do that. It jars the back too much though so that is out for me now.

PJ! I don't want to leave anyone out for seating purposes. ;) I don't want the Captain's little sister left in late seating on her own. ;)

Vanessa...I bought a ton of pins in February when they were under $2 each. I think that the kids will each have 17 pins to trade this cruise. I might keep a couple in my backpack at the parks. We don't usually have time there but last year after one of the rides there was a cool Star Wars pin on a CM's lanyard after the ride. :)

You know Lisa, they have aqua-steps now that are used in a good water aerobics class. Pretty much no stress on your back unless the water is too shallow. (a good class has water deep enough for chest height)

John1, I heard a story on the radio this morning and thought of you! Seems some lady in Canton, Ohio has been banned from one of the grocery stores because she is taking home hundreds of dollars worth of stuff FREE because they have a policy that if an item's price is incorrect when scanned the item is free. Somehow she has figured out what items will scan wrong??? :confused3 They banned her because she was "disruptive" to the other shoppers. Or so the story was told anyway. Have you heard about this? Funny that this would make news clear out here in Orygun. :lmao: Just human interest, I guess. :confused3

GOOD FOR HER!!! I say that there is nothing wrong with following policy. The first time this happens, the store should correct the error...but they didn't. She went in the next day & it was still wrong. That should have told them something. Yes, stores make mistakes but if they aren't going to correct them, I am going to do what is within their policy to purchase the item at the best price...whether it is a couple dollars off each incorrectly priced item or a free item. This happened here one time. It took two times for them to correct the pricing.

Hi John! Re iRemembeer - no, I think it was much easier than the cut and paste conventional imho just because I find working on the computer easier. My issue was I never read the instructions first  so I didn't find it as intuitive for me. It wasn't difficult as I did make a couple of pages I just need to read the directions a bit more. I just haven't had the time to sit and go through help on it.

Well, I downloaded the trial version, and you are right Bella, not too intuitive, and I am not a big direction person either (I'm a guy after all - who needs directions!?). The trial version does come with some clipart - and you guessed it, one of the items in the limited clipart was a BANANA!

I'm going to have to scan the papers for this . . . there is another chain that my PA friends probably know - GIANT EAGLE who has this policy. Did you hear it on something like Paul Harvey, or just on regular news?

John1

We got some good new today regarding school. DD's friend from PS will be in her class this year. Her sister will be in DS's class. :) Also, my favorite assistant teacher for first grade at the school will be in DD's room for the first half of the year until she starts her student teaching. :) Now DS knows 3 of the kids in his class...he is happier than a few days ago when everyone else we talked to was in a different class.

BTW - if the price is incorrect and lower at our stores (unless it is regulated by law like beer and wine) we give the customer ONE item at the incorrect price and correct it. There's nothing wrong with correcting your legitimate mistake for a customer, and not causing them a hassle.

However, there are always those out there to "beat the system" - I still remember some lady coming up to the checkout back when we "priced" stuff with stickers with a cart FULL of cereal who demanded we give it to her at that price when an employee had made an obvious error. We gave her one - even though the shelf tag was correct - the employee had just forgot to reset their pricing gun.

Can't wait to hear the "rest of the story".
