My kitchen is closed on Sunday. Of course it's closed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday also!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: What I wouldn't do for Oprah's cook :cloud9:

Just wanted to pop in and thank you all!! Especially PJ & Lisa... I loved reading the August Dis Geeky Banana Newsletter!! We should really make our logo include that awesome dancing banana... maybe with those Mickey ears? hmmm just a thought :lmao:

Goodnight All!
Elizabeth

Good Morning! I'm on my way to the mountains of NC for a week. It's called Lake Junaluska which is near Maggie Valley and Cherokee. The nearest "big" town is Ashville about 40 miles east. I'm taking my laptop but there may not be an internet connection. I'll check in if I can but if not it will be late next Sunday. Be good.

Brack - have a great trip!
Great newsletter PJ!

I love Gymboree clothes and have found they run large and hold up very well, Haley is wearing lots of Samantha's old clothes.

What is everyone selling on Ebay? I have tons of boutique and name brand clothes to get rid of but the last time I listed something it was canceled because I put PP only instant transfer. I guess I need to read up on the new rules.

We ended up watching Chicken Little and crashing last night....we are going to Publix and breakfast now...it's beautiful out so hopefully we can get outside today!

Into the office on Sunday? Sorry! Many grocery stores here are closed on Sunday. Kind of nice for the employees.

Kim

We have been open on Sundays since 1986 - Have Sunday openings not gotten that far West yet?

And, yes, I would agree, it would be VERY nice for our employees. Unfortunately, it would be nicer for our competitors.

Vanessa, if you accept paypal on ebay you now HAVE to accept every form of it. You could just accept MOs if you wanted to.

Hey Todd - what is it like at the port now? I remember our first time after 9/11 it was REALLY evident with BIG guns, and lots of soldiers. The last time we were there, I don't remember it being nearly so evident. Just more like normal security.

I wonder if this would have anything to do with the fact that where the Magic docks right next door is or should I say was a Mexican Naval base , that also docked there ships at the same pier as the Magic ...Thats the reason for the m-16's ...

Does it look just normal though, or "bristling" with M-16's now?

For all of you Ebay Sellers, what is the easiest/best way to get started selling on Ebay on your own? I have a basement FULL of stuff that Amy wants me to get rid of - she is threatening to have a dumpster pull up!

I'm fairly tech savvy, but not too commerce or Ebay Savvy other than BUYING - Savvy?

Good Morning Everyone!

I am still tired from yesterday even though I slept in a little bit but my back is also aching pretty bad. I think I am going to need to go see my chiropractor this week and hopefully that will make it feel a little better.

I think we might try heading over to the 1st Annual Central Missouri Renaissance Festival with the kids here in just a little while. It sounds very, very small so I don't know how long we will stick around. I guess it is a warm up to the annual Kansas City Renaissance Festival which is HUGE and is every weekend from Labor Day to Columbus Day. DH goes every year but the last 2 years or so I didnt' go because I was either pregnant or had a real little one I didn't want to take. I think we will probably go around the end of the September. Maybe I can find some good pirate stuff.... pirate:

Well I probably should try to get ready while the kids are distracted by watching Mulan.

I hope you have a great trip Brack...we will see you when you get back!

I found some software for the Mac called "Garage Sale" that is supposed to make eBay listing and selling easier . . .

To me, the biggest PIB sounds like it would be figuring out how much to charge for shipping!

John1

Well, first of all, John, use Turbolister on Ebay's site. It is the easiest way to complete your listings. It can keep all of the basic info the same and you can just modify the things specific to each item. It will upload a batch of auctions at the same time to make it easier to manage, IMO. You can work on your listings at any time and then upload them all to Ebay to start at the best time. One thing that I found was that once fall TV starts you don't want to have your auctions end during the big shows like Survivor. Also, you should have them end later on the east coast so that people in CA will be home from work to bid on them...for all of us who like to do our own sniping. ;)

Shipping costs aren't difficult at all! :) Depending on the size & weight of what you are selling, you could order free PM boxes & supplies from the USPS site. They will send you lables, packing tape, and boxes right to your door. There are boxes that are one price no matter how much they weigh now too. If you are selling bigger items, FedEx will be the best way to ship for the cost. Set up your own account and you can get the rate for the box size & weight before you list your auction. I always used 90210 to figure the highest rate for US shipments. You can get quotes on the USPS site too. Either way, once you set up accounts on those sites, you can print off postage paid lables. USPS includes free delivery confirmation online. Depending on your mailman, you can have the boxes picked up at the house or just drop them off at the PO. I never had to wait in line since they were already paid for. I got to know the people at the PO & would just go in with the stroller & boxes loaded up with DD & pile them on the side of the counter. They took care of putting them in the back when they had a break in the line. :) For FedEx the Accucopy down the street is a drop off point so I just took them in & they took care of them too. Easy! I did get a free postage scale thru Stamps.com when they had a promotion going. A basic 5 lb cooking scale would work just as well for smaller items. Anyhow....that's what I did.

No one shops here on Sunday.... Now, if you want to go fishing in the canyon or have a picnic up there, you better get a spot early.... We are and outdoorsy religous bunch... However, if you do have to go to the store, and there are a few open, it is easy parking and no one is there.... Today I need soy sauce, so I will brave the store, but everything is so beautiful here this time of year, who wants to be in the store anyway....

kim

Went to Publix....and now Dh is reading up on FF magazines and the girls are watching Little Einsteins.....I think I may drag out all the Gymbo stuff and list that.

Elizabeth, the dancing mickey banana I found would not blow up enough, but I guess he could be a hidden DMB.

John - you really think - Maybe I can start a new Yankee sensation in Ohio, and open up my very own fluffernutter sandwich shop . . .?

No John - that won't do in Ohio. We are Buckeyes here and we don't take fluff, on sandwiches or otherwise. We eat our peanut butter sandwiches with peanuts still in the shell, piled high on the bread. No fluff here.

that sounds like one of the radio beer ads!! :lmao:
