Sure, Becka! What other excuse will you come up with? ;)

I am sure I can come up with a few more.... ;)

DH decided he was geting tired and didn't want to drag anymore boxes in so we quit for the night. I think pricing clothes was tiring for him so I doubt he will be able to do a Soduko puzzle.... :rotfl:

Last I remember Caroline was going to go to Sesame Place last Thursday, because I made a comment that it was too bad that I was busy and couldn't meet her there.

Hey, I got a TOP - how about a pirate: now?

John1

Alright! Snuck it in on you guys!!!

Good now I don't have to wonder who got it. I guess that I will have to start catching up in the morning too. Night!

Just missed it....so close to 2 in a row.... :)

Congratulations becka on the pirate: It looks like I was little slow in signing on. OOOPS I mean John.

At first it looked like becka had caught the pirate:

Most of you are probably not aware of the communion process in an Orthodox church, but let me just say it is NOT pretty if your child is kicking and screaming that she does NOT want to take communion and go up to that funny dressed man with the beard!

It must be as much fun as I have when DS has to go to church... I volunteer to teach in our CCD and Vacation Bible School programs, so it really looks nice when I have a kid screaming and hitting and saying "NO CHURCH!!!" to the director of religious education.

Yeah, I'm a little bit of an outcast anyway since my DW is neither Greek nor Orthodox, but when my kid starts screaming such stuff in church (and I haven't tried it lately out of fear and embarrasment) all the old Greek ladies dressed in black give me that "look".

If I was not in church, I would bet it was the "Mati" (Greek evil eye).

Well it has been fun but I really should get to bed.

I hope Caroline checks in again soon.

See you guys tomorrow! :wave2:

Well, maybe tomorrow morning we will find out if Kim had a "wicked" night!

Since we got by that Milestone, I think it is time for bed. These late weeknights kill me. I used to go to bed by 10:00 before you guys!

John, does your church have an annual Greek festival with all the food that those little old ladies have worked for ages to prepare?

One more post to answer your question Marielle . . .

We have two Greek churches in town. Ours does an outdoor festival with rides outside and food inside. That festival is in June. This weekend, the other Greek church is having their festival at our city civic center. Their festival is basically food and dancing. There is also a very competitive (believe it or not) Children's Greek Dance Troupe, which Sophia ALSO does NOT want to do!

She is being just like her dad was as a child. I hated being different, and was embarassed of my heritage. Now, I love it, and want to immerse myself more in it. Go figure.

Anyway, the women spend weeks cooking and preparing food and pastries and it is GOOD stuff!

Thanks John. I miss the Greek Festival where we used to live. And having Greek friends who'd bring some extra goodies to share!! There must be one somewhere around here but I haven't heard about it-- plenty of Italian, Irish, Polish Catholic parishes with their festivals, and even an Armenian church with one.

Let me put a plug in for our nonliturgical churches. We did away with communion and started what is called a "Holy Feast". Basically it's an excuse to fix a lot of food without the wine and eat until we drop. In the South we call it "Fellowship"! :goodvibes
