Now why would you do a thing like that???? :goodvibes

There just comes a point in your life when you realize there are some people who have incredible talents on the piano and you are not one of them. Now don't get me wrong, I used my talent to pay for expenses. I was an accompanist for the choirs and private vocal students. I made $20 an hour. It was great! Much better than I made on my first job out of college... It is just really humbling to listen to some of those people and I realized I was never going to make any money doing this. On the positive side. No one wanted to be an economics major, so boy did I get a self esteem boost there...

Maybe this is too stupid a question, but am I going to be able to get DD out of the pool? And I am not talking because she needs help, but because she will NOT want to get out? ARG I dislike the drill, understand it, but not my favorite thing...

Kim

Kim...remember our strategy? Safety in numbers? LOL! The trick we used for the kids first cruise was ice cream on the way back to the room. We can use ice cream sodas. :thumbsup2 The three muskateers will rule the ship! :dance3:

Todd - how did you like the suite? Was it amazing???? I would LOVE to see the inside of one!

Me too! My TA thinks I am insane because I ask her every day about an upgrade. She says "they were very efficient with the first one, I am sure they will be with the rest". I keep telling her my DIS friends don't say that... I think she is about to say "Do you do everything your dis friends do?"

Pre-DIS meet 3pm Goofy Pool - Deck 9 mid-ship, add it to page 4 (Mickeyplan)? and whomever shows up will be cool?

Pj

PJ, it is on the plans but I am thinking of altering them a bit with this info. ;) I will have the banner strung to the railing either on deck 10 or deck 9. We'll see how it goes.

This loose tooth is going to drive me nuts!!!! OYYYYYYYY!!! :( DD is still not brushing it and is shoving food into her cheek to eat. Nothing is touching the tooth...which is now hanging forward even more.

John, remember how DH didn't want me to touch DS's tooth on the last cruise...kept saying that it will fall out when it is ready & it would hurt more if it was pulled out? Well...for the second day in a row, DH has tried to convince DD to let us twist the tooth to get it out. :lmao: Yes, I have tried the floss a couple times. Not sure what I am suppose to do to get the tooth to come out. :(

By the time I catch up, that tooth will be out.

My technique was to wrap the floss around whatever the tooth is hanging by, grab both ends and do a swift, tug like trying to pull a tablecloth off a table. Worked for Sophia.

Hey all you band geeks - better to be a band geek than just a geek! At least band geeks have someone to associate with, and then there's that "band camp" stuff.

Anyway, I was just a geek. Practical joker, etc. etc.

I wrestled my first two years of HS, and would have probably been varsity my junior year but then I got a job at the company I am still at. That about killed extra curriculars. I realized I had to work if I wanted to go to college, or have a car. I was in NHS, was in French Club and Drama Club (behind the scenes guy), and dabled in art, and loved reading, math, and those first computers that were just coming out. Speech coach wanted me on the debate team, but the job killed that (DS took 2nd in Ohio in 4 person debate as a freshman, and 3rd in the state in two person as a Junior before he got burned out).

No band - my total musical talent consists of listening. In grade school during a musical (when I thought I could sing, and no one told me better) the teacher took me OFF the stage where the kids were singing ("Feeling Groovy" - it was the sixties) and asked me if I really wouldn't rather carry this sign than sing with the rest of the kids - yes, I must have been that bad, and still am.

Cheerleaders scorned me, and I never even went on a date until college!

Geeek all the way, but a real :stir:

Can you believe that?? My how I've changed . . .

Back to catching up.

But now, you get to go to reunions and show off your stunning daughter and talk about your successfull careers and so on.... And all of the mean stuck up kids have hopefully been in jail at least once.... Well, I guess that's ok as long as Amy can keep you from talking to yourself :rotfl2:

Patsy, you are suppose to be behaving, lol.

Also was a Girl Guide, just what they called us up here in Canada, still have a uniform hanging in the closet with all the badges and my all around cord. I loved Guides, and I am thinking about volunteering to be a leader, but as I don't have a DD, it might look kind of odd :~. Most leaders up here are DM's of troop members.

Pj

Penny, don't let that stop you! I think anyone who takes the time to do this w/o their own child is a saint!

Kim...don't call your TA...call DCL & ask them if there is a 1 or 2 available on this cruise. ;)

OY!!! My headache is back! Kim...please remember not to believe everything you read on the boards...or hear from DCL CS...or your TA for that matter. ;) I can't believe that I have actually seen in print someone comparing Palo to Denny's. :rolleyes2 :faint:

John
My 6th grade text book has "Feeling Groovy" as one of the songs. I use that song because one of the 6th grade teachers always says "Groovy" (He was also a kid during the sixties). The kids think it is great and they call it "Mr. Kessler's Song."

WHOA!!!! We could have our own trivia contest onboard based on posts in this thread. :lmao:

I took a peek at the 8/19 DD cruise thread. Trust me....we are not crazy...yet. They passed 9000 posts this morning & have been singing "977 posts on the board 977 posts....." At least we are still carrying on conversations. ;)

OMG! I was just thinking this earlier today about scanning through the posts and making a trivia sheet for the adults! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Okay - update - I'm now on page 550 and if john and Becka's posts are any indication....I have this picture....

December 9 (or December 8, if you are me)....40 adults wearing green t's standing around talking to themselves. Mumbling about b-dazzlers and wondering where their tiara, I mean husbands, are.

I know - it's been many pages so many of this might not mean much to you guys now.....but go back to page 550....I'm actually having a blast!!

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

I gave my presentation today. It went very well. Now I hope I get an A. I have a 4.0 GPA so far in my masters program. I really want it to stay that way. I am a bit of an over achiever
