Devon has been having a dilemma as to whether or not she wants to stay in band....

My dilemma was not letting her quit just because it was hard at first.

Is the band problem because they have to also do Marching Band? My DS loved band (Music Major in College) but hated marching band!

If she just wants to play her horn I can talk to the Officer in Frederick about practicing with their band. Does she play a brass instrument?

She was doing color guard part of the marching band.... (i thought her dance and baton background would be helpful for this)

The unfortunate part of the problem is that band is handled more like a sport for this HS (opposed to something just extracurricular and fun to do.)

They tend to weed out the kids who aren't that good (ie yell at them until they quit). The other night i talked to a parent who told me more than a few had dropped out of the group (percussion anyway)

DD played the flute in ES but like everything else...didn't practice or should i say refused to practice and wasn't very good.

Anyway decision was taken out of our hands last night....

DD has been having an ankle issue off and on and after seeing ortho and getting an MRI...........



It's a stress fracture..... So we have this big boot thing she has to wear for 6 weeks...

I'm not sure we even should take her to DW with us at the end of this month.

Sure i could just tape her up... (i'm an old pro at that due to my own weak ankles and previous years in volleyball.. i was always taped most of the season but could still play.)

We'll see.

I hope everything works out for your DD! She really seems to be having a rough time lately!

I'm having a glass of wine. Bad day, not enough to deal with angry patients for 10 hours, I had a surgeon call and chew my you know what for 20 min about my "inflammatory" notes. Ah, sorry, that is what your patient said! Can't understand why waiting 2 weeks for a biopsy result was upsetting to her. Anyway, I'm heading home and will soon get a from the pro - DrHug - have a glass of wine and then reset my attitude. If all goes as planned I only have to come here 113 more times. Maybe 108 if I use every hour of my leave. Yep, better do that!

It was a good meeting tonight and now they are all playing BINGO!

Sometimes I think that the Staff has more fun than the Seniors at these camps. I know that it is my favorite camp.

Annette's theme for this year is "Growing Older but Not Up." Of course we had a Disney night program. It was fun.

We are very lucky to have lots of Hallmark items for these kinds of programs. They love it.
