Hi Karen - I am glad to see you on the boards this morning. Have a great day at work!

Good morning all,

Lisa, you must think I'm completely crazy since I've allowed my kids to fly alone!!!! Well, until this past year they've flown 4 or 5 times as unaccompanied minors (extra fee, tagged, paperwork, pickup person ID'd). But Southwest and AirTran allow 12-year-olds to count as adults, so DD has now flown twice on her own (the airlines have given me a gate pass to wait at the gate with her, but that's not guaranteed). Then on the other end she makes it to baggage claim where we meet again. In July DD12 was the "adult" for DD8 when they flew to Charlotte to visit grandparents for a week.

Actually, in a way, that was less stressful than flying with all three kids without DH. I'm constantly making sure everyone is staying on task for that. I have to carry the giant car seat for DS while managing my laptop bag, one DD is pushing DS in the stroller wearing a backpack; other DD is managing other carryon until we have to gatecheck the stroller. Then she has to carry her brother when we board until I install the car seat. It's quite a production.

This is what I read about it.

So it is just for those sailings. I thought that you meant in the future for every cruise. I haven't been reading about the Med cruises since we wont be on one. There is so much to keep up with just for the regular ones. That sounds like a deal for you then. Don't give up hope! They haven't gone up like the Panama Canal & West Coast cruises. Maybe you can still save some money in December. :wizard: From what I remember, they weren't offering deals like that to begin with.

I just emailed my TA and he said he mailed my packet yesterday! I should have it today since he's in Tampa! Whooo hooo!!

~is anyone bringing a stroller? We've always brought an umbrella one - great for getting around on CC but I am contemplating not for this cruise....hmm...

We are bringing our Combi. I love that stroller and it was so useful on our last cruise. It is small and lightweight so it did not take up any space in the stateroom either. DD still naps and it was nice to push her around up on the decks during naptime so we didn't have to stay in the room all afternoon. :)

I can appreciate what you go thru! When the kids were 11 mo & 33 mo I took them to Dallas on my own. Double stroller with DD in the front, both 5 point seats in the back seat, carryons strung over the handle, DS on a harness walking with me. UGH! The airline on the phone is much different than the ones on the plane. The gate agent wanted the stroller checked in but I had been told I could wheel it down the walkway to the door of the plane. The ones on the plane couldn't come off to help & the others couldn't go on. OY! Other passengers came to my rescue and grabbed carseats & bags for me & put them in our row. One woman held DD while I installed the carseats. Thank goodness both kids slept the entire way there. In Dallas DH was able to walk us to the gate (pre 9/11) and they had people there to help moms like me.

We are bringing our Jeep stroller. Either of the kids can ride in it, has a big basket, and we store it in the tub. Last time we just used one on the ship. IDK! :confused3 I like the jeep & I will have alot of stuff with me that day.

Well, goodnight all! I am going to take something & go to bed. It has been a rough day.
What did you take and did it work? Something like a shot of wiskey :) ?JK

LOL! No, I didn't have a shot. No one would hear from me for a couple days if I did. :rotfl: The doctor gave me some Rx motrin that do the trick...along with helping with my neck being so tight.

I met a DISER from spokane :cheer2:  We have chatted over the last few days and know what she said

THERE IS A DISNEY STORE IN SPOKANE at the valley mall. I never go there becouse it is anoughter 1/2 hour away but I will be making a special trip next week. They have pins for 2 bucks. Guesse the boys will be pin trading after all. Well just wanted to tell you about my great discovery. Now I have to track my Disney order and then shower and head to Canada

Mommy Minny It is about 45 min from here. 15 min past the lake. When we were kids we used to spend tons of time up there. Movies, shopping, chassing boys and drinking in the bars at 16, There limet was 19 but we always got in. Maybe the fake I.D. helped :rotfl:

For got to add my moms is on the way 15 min from the boarder also. Anyway if anyone wants pins let me know and I will see what I can do. Brenda

Motrin...that's it..... You must be a lightweight Lisa... I can pop those like candy... (well unless they are motrin 800's)

A funny story... DD was born by c-section so i got a morphine pump that day. The next day they switched me to percocets. (which made me itch). So then they changed the prescription to motrin 400's (over the counter motrin is around 200 BTW). I asked the nurse if that's all they could give me since i was still in alot of pain. They said that was it but i could have 1 pill every 4 hrs as needed. You bet i chased that nurse down every four hrs and still was in pain.

Well I think we are staying at WDW the 7th-9th and going to hit MVMCP on the 8th....not sure where to stay yet - no discounts out but I looked on AAA and got some quotes:

values $63.20
Mods $111.20
AKL $205
BWI $305
Poly $315

We'll see what the ole ball and chain has to say....he has a ball game tonight and here's hoping they win since he can be pretty much convinced of just about anything after a victory and a few beers with the guys! ;)

BTW - he doesn't use the computer except for setting his football lineup so don't go telling him my bad girl secrets of getting everything my heart desires!

I am anxious to get home to my packet - I know it's nothing to write home about but hey - I need some excitement in my life.

I just pulled out a box. It is called Mobic. Yes, I am knocked out by it. The first time I took one I felt ok for a couple hours but went up stairs to watch a movie with DD in our room. I couldn't get up off the bed. When they were fighting I did manage to drag myself to DS's room but had to hold onto the wall. I ended up sleeping for an hour or so with DD in bed with me watching another movie. I felt OK after that but it knocks me off my feet.

Lisa - I can totally sympathize with you on flying! I haven't flown now for over 4 years and decided I was done! Dh has to take the girls to Egypt himself if he wants them there. I feel really bad because DD3 hasn't seen her grandparents yet. :guilty: But I did make a deal with him to fly there again. That is where the Med cruise comes in. ;) I'll fly over, stay with family for a month, drive through Europe, and take the boat back. It is the only one that comes back before school so it works out great. We'll see if the plan goes through or not though. I was first looking at cruising over with DD3 alone first, but the logistics for us to get to Egypt from Spain alone would be too hard.

Hence the reason I drive to Florida in the first place! Everyone else loves to fly.

Just back from lunch....exciting! I can't wait to get my lime green shirts - they should be here soon....:)

Just got an email from DH (who is at home). The shirts just came - he said we "will be easy to spot.":cool1: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Ahhh... had to look that one up but it is a little different than Motrin. It's active drug is Meloxicam. If i read all the side effects i'd be scared to take it.

They had many precautionaries for people with heart issues or family history of heart issues. Did your Dr. know that when they prescribed?

(i know you expressed concern before when you had tests done.)

We will be bringing 2 strollers!! We were deciding if we wanted to take the double stroller or 2 and we decided on 2. We will have one bigish stroller for the baby and the umbrella for our DS. We are doing days in Disney World pre and post cruise. They are also great for at the airport.
