That was a bad time for the exchange rate, somewhere in the .65 value /1.50 to buy usd range.

I used to do High school educational trips back then as a tour manager, I was so thankful that the company paid all my expenses while in the US.

Pj

I was thinking that it was closer to 50% value. Like I said though...great for us and we probably spent more money on souvies because of it.

Yep for every USD you gave or pay with, you recieved about 1.48 CAD.

Goodness gracious!!! I have created a monster thread!!!!! :lmao: DS & I ended up with a pretty good sized house...thanks to the 14x14 base we got at DTD's lego store. :) He is accessorizing it now. Looks like a few showers are passing thru now. That shouldn't affect the party since it is a bunch of kids who were going to be playing on the bonsai slip & slide anyway. :)

WELCOME KIM!

Glad to have a Kim on this cruise too! You should book for next Halloween on the Magic aswell, we have three Kims already and could another to round things out, lol.

:welcome: Kim & family!!! :wave2: Glad you weren't :scared1:off by all of our chatter. We were just having fun with alot of :offtopic:chatter last night. :)

I had to read like 5 pages and I was one of the last ones to post last night. Man. I have errands to run so I'll check back later.

Penny, I took my std and here friend on a trip to the hot springs when she turned 14 and the rate then was like $1.58. It was nice we stayed a whole week.

Angie- I'll still look today for the cars.

Lisa your sneaky. And I would like a detailed report of what lind of lego stuff there was and how much it is as my 8 yo wants some and a 14x14 would be nice. Do they have castle stuff and pirates. Mum

Well, we have quieted down, haven't we? We are heading out to the RV show now. See what we can see. We need to find something for retirement. We plan to live at the WalMarts. :teeth: Traveling we will be able to stop by and see alot of folks for mini meets though. Cannot wait! :Pinkbounc 1 year 9 months and 7 days, not that I'm counting.

I am going to send the info to Lisa right now. Thanks for the tip and for being so nice!

Kim
Angie is always nice. Welcome aboard! :sail:

:welcome: Kim and family!! My second DD will have turned 8 a few months before the cruise. But she will also be moving up to the Lab. Why do they grow up?!?! Your DD will just love the Club.

Also Kim - Just keep in mind that your DD will not be able to meet Ariel onboard... I really don't get why since it IS a boat and it IS on the water

If she really needs an Ariel fix you will have to add in a before or after trip to the Magic Kingdom! :thumbsup2

We did get the rain today so the b-day party was moved inside. It wasn't alot, so the kids got to swim, which they like much better than playing at the playground! ;) OY! Why do young parents think their kids need EVERY toy on the sheves! :confused3 DD3 is in heaven when we go over because she thinks she is in a toy store! :lmao:

It also looks like rain tomorrow so I have called the GSs and postponed their party indefinately. :sad2: I don't know how I am going to fit all of this in with July 4th the way it is this year! Basically two holiday weekends! Good for business but horrible for driving, :crazy2: I have to replan this party, fit in a party for the softball team, and I am sure DD8's coach-pitch team will also be having one, although it will probably just be at the pizza place! Nice and easy. :thumbsup2 I either have to try to fit it all in BEFORE July 9th, when I leave, or schedule some for after the trip....

Ok, DNiece is sleeping over and they are begging to go to Rita's. :rolleyes1

Later! :wave2:

Thank you for telling me about Ariel, I don't understand either. Water, mermaids, king triton... makes sense to me. We will make plans to see her at WDW before we get on the cruise. Does she ever show up at castaway cay?

Also, your chatter made you all seem even more friendly!

Thanks!

Kim

BRACK!! I have something very exciting to share with you!! We got an invite to CLUB 33 :Pinkbounc  :yay: :dance3: If all goes well we will go for brunch on September 9, which is the 39 year anniversary of the night we met at Disneyland! :woohoo: We are very, very excited!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! I hope that they let you take photos. In the tour they let me take photos of the lobby. It would be great to have some of the actual club. :thumbsup2

Sorry, Kim. Ariel appears in Disney Dreams...but that is it. A CM told DD3 that she comes onboard briefly but swims along side the ship. See how long your DD will look for her thru the portholes. ;)

That is what it is like in Harrisonburg, VA around JMU. Menonite country...and it is beautiful. Little houses in front of farm land with white picket fences. The people are so nice!

We lived in Staunton, VA for three years (just south of Harrisonburg). That area is really beautiful and dark at night! The stars are extra bright because there is so light light bleed over. :goodvibes

I do not know how I am going to catch up with some of you guys. You have become posting demons! :rotfl2:
