Okay - at this rate, I'll just keep taking up the whole page.


Has anyone been out on Oriental Trading lately? There's a bunch of great pirate stuff.

Question - if we plan to bring some goodies for everyone...especially the kiddos...should we coordinate thru someone or just bring what we want even if it is duplicates. I just wouldn't want to get the same thing as someone else.

Any thoughts?

Angie - I had a feeling you worked for the government. I work for Navy as civilian. I admire you're love of those military men and women. They really are a great group!

Yep, I figure I am able go on these cruises and do all the other wonderful thing I do because of the things these men and women were willing to do. I ask God to bless them every day.

Angie - I can't wait to meet you! You sound so awesome!!


This may sound a little odd, perhaps others can relate....one of the reasons I want the house to be clean and perfect is b/c my mom and dad will be coming up from Florida. My dad has been suffering from cancer for a very long time...really bad...actually surprised he is still with us. Anyway, my mom has been spending every waking minute taking care of him. So basically, I see this as a little vacation for both of them. I'm trying to make it extra special and really have all those extra touches to make my mom and dad feel welcomed and appreciated and know just how much they are loved. I have fresh flowers ordered for their room and bathroom...lots of great food for the days before and after the party.... I just want to pamper them.

So on top of the party, I'm kinda hosting some ESP (extra special parents) who deserve lots of TLC. Guess that's why I'm going out of my way and stressing more than normal. I don't get to see them very often...and they haven't been able to travel in years. So this truly is a special weekend!

Okay - I'm getting teary eyed. Better get back to work.

Karen, what a special daughter you are! I know your mom will really appreciate the special touches and bit of respite for her. Glad your dad is able to make the trip. We will put them in our prayers too.

You are right, Karen! Angie is an awesome person.

I think it was you who asked about the goodies. I know that I have seen a list made up for huge groups like the repo cruisers so I don't see why we can't just add a page to the website for that. DISgoodies. If you want it to be a surprise, just state that. It will be a good way for someone who comes in later & wants to bring something to see what is already covered.

Karen - I will say a prayer for you. This is a big weekend not only for your son but for the whole family. Try to get everything done before your parents come. It is so important to enjoy them being around. I am sure you know that already!

I survived the morning off! Eliza did so well at the doctor. I have to laugh because she is off the chart for height. She weighs 3 pounds less than my son did at 4 months but is 1 inch longer!

Pooh bear picture frame for $2.50. Pajama pants for $3.00, boy's dress shirts for $6.00, buzz hoodie for $4.00, and jeans for $5.00!!! They had all kinds of stuff! All redticket items are half off!

I think folks bring whatever they can find/make large amounts of reasonably. Lisa is doing stockings for each family, I think. We still have some glow sticks for the kids for pirate night. Last year someone made little door magnets for all of us that said "Got DIS?" I just always tend to think of the kiddos - Grandma, ya know.
