Those of you who are DVC members - do you love it? Was it worth the investment to you?
YES!!! We do love it. :goodvibes We love the resorts, we love the gatherings they have, we love that fact that 30 years from now we will still be able to take these wonderful vacations using our points. We were able to take all our kids and grandkids to WDW for 4 days and on a 4 day cruise (12 of us) by banking and borrowing points. I don't think we would ever have saved up enough $$ to do that. Don't get me started..... :teeth:

Wondering if I can get some prayers - I'm being nominated for State Officer position for a Church women's group. I feel like I'm so young and unexperienced and they want me to run for President. I was going to try VP ... figuring I'd learn from others.

Anyway - can you guys keep me in your prayers that whatever God's will, be done! It is all so overwhelming right now that I don't know that I can make the right decision OR hear God's message.

Thanks!!!
K
For sure!! :angel: Prayers coming your way

John, enjoy the zoo and the chance to see the enjoyment of your daughter at the zoo.

Karen, you are in my thoughts, make the choice that feels bests with your heart.

Brandi, what tipped us over to DVC was that we could have paid off our membership with the five pervious trip we had taken before we signed up. I finally understood that we would be going back to WDW for many years to come and the Canadian dollar was so much better then when we looked at VWL, we couldn't say no. There will be guides on the ship to answer questions. Signing our documents on deck four, with the sea salt in the air and the waves rushing by made the experience extra special!

Karen - prayers will be duly noted..... I myself just got involved with our church's property committee. (We have land and now newly built catholic school but no plan for our "church" buildings yet.) The Lord calls us all in mysterious way.

But a favorite priest of mine once told me "God does not give you anything that you can not handle."

(ok God must have a sense of humor, sometimes. But i try to think about the above statement and let it help me lead me every day.)

Kliney - another DVC member checking in. DVC has been a great choice for us. It makes us invest in our vacations. We used to only be able to stay in Moderate but since joining love the deluxe accomadations. We stayed at WLV in a 2 bd before x-mas and it truly was like living at the "world".

When I look at what regular costs are at those type resorts. I know I've made the right decision. I just can't wait until our initial loan period is up though. Then it's strictly maintenance fees.

Thanks for the response about the DVC. My husband and I are seriously thinking about joining. We say we will only go every few years but we go every year or more. We are going June 2007 for a 10 day stint for my mom's 50th B.Day. Thanks again for your info!

Brack - did you find out about the job move? I guess you have no choice, right? Prayers and pixie dust to you too!

I was told today and it becomes official tomorrow .... it's Baltimore. That was a real shock to us because it was not even on our list but it seems that they need someone to come in to "right the ship". They believe that I have the most experience so here we go! We have to arrive there by in end of June. We asked them to reconsider but they said "Go" so we go.

We do have friends there so it will be good and it is much closer to my DW's Mom. It is much farther from our DS and DDIL, It is closer to WDW by about 8 hours! So there are some good and bad points.

Thanks for the prayers and pixie dust.

Brack, like others in this group....I'm sure God has some plans for you! :) Glad you can see some positives in the scheme.

Brack - good luck with the new location. Baltimore is a nice city. We have gone there many times for hockey games (AHL), inner harbor visits, and to see the aquarium. I am sure all things will work out in the end.

I am praying right now as I am writing this. Hope God doesn't mind the multi-tasking...as God is the ultimate multi-tasker.

John, Let me know about Spring Break '07 as it gets closer. We are either going during my friend's spring break or June '07 as she is a teacher. We all prefer to go during her spring break as the weather may be a bit better....we'll see.

Karen, Good luck and prayers going your way!

Brandi, DVC is the greatest! We have not regretted one bit - just can't wait until it is all paid off (joined in 2000, and added in 2001 and 2005). Feel free to ask away with any questions.

Jordan, If we go, it will be the week of March 29th. I'll keep you posted.

The Zoo was a great time (even with some rain). There is nothing more affirming and special than spending a day with a group of 5-6 year olds at the Zoo! We should all pray to have such energy in our hearts, and wonder in our minds as those children!

Then I went to our school's "top 25 banquet" - each kid of the top 25 gets to pick a teacher that made a difference in their lives, and honor them at this banquet. Almost as good as the little ones at the zoo.

Thanks Jordan. I'm still sad that I won't get to meet you. Hope all is well with you - glad you are still checking in with us!!!

Good Morning! [HAPPY FRIDAY

I hope everyone has the weekend off! We finally got rain :umbrella: last night - it was wonderful!

Good Morning to all. I am sitting in my office early today because it is the day all of the moves are announced. I know mine but there will be several others throughout the south who will be told they are moving also. It is always an exciting time.

Blessings to all. I hope you all have a great weekend.
:thumbsup2

Good Points -

I live nearby - plenty of other Dis'rs too!

SWA flys from BWI really cheap...... (will save you money getting to FL in December for the cruise.)

Our weather isn't that bad. (anything's warmer than PA in winter)

There are some nice rural counties that can be commuted from.

We hardly ever get tornados.

No brush fires.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know it's hard to just pick up and go but I wish you the best. :grouphug:
Thanks Brandi! But I am working on Saturday. I have to build up days for the vacation in December. Even though I have been with the company for three years on a hourly pay basis, since I have switched to a different position and salary at the end of February, I will only be getting two days vacation until May '07, (our year runs May to May and one earns vacations days in the pervious year for the next year's allotment.) When I was offered to the job, didn't even submit my resume for it, I told them if the cruise was a problem, I would be staying in my old job.
I need to build up 7 full lieu days to be able to take my vacation, ouch! So I think of my Saturdays as days on the ship or at WDW, it makes it easier. Money's better, great health benefits and pension is I want it. I can't complain too much, lol.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOMS!!!!
I'll be laying down 30 cubic yards of muchl - thank you DH - on Saturday and laying around all Sunday...recuperating from the mulch and being pampered.
So I had to wish you all a happy day today!!
Penny - I will think of you tomorrow when you are at work! :surfweb: What a bummer!!!! You most certainly must think of the cruise!
Karen - I hope you have a wonderful time relaxing :coffee: on Sunday! I don't really know what my hubby and kids have planned.
Brack - I hope the announcements are going well. Keep positive.
