EB repo is still out. August 1 - Sept 25 or so is like tax season for accounts, but buying season for me.

John, trust me on this and I know Angie and Dennis agree with this, stay at the Disneyland Hotel! Seriously, with Sophia, it is the best. Angie and Dennis?

Hmmmmm . . .

I've heard you guys say that . . . I was considering the lodge hotel since we like Wilderness lodge so much, but you guys are the experts, and I will trust you on this one.

Not a word. After my State Audit horror, I went to help my friends whose mother just died, finish thier quarterly payroll and state sales taxes for the restaurant she owned. I figured doing a good service for someone else was probably a better use of my time. I will watch the recap tommorow with Matt and Meridith.

You did not miss much IMHO . . . and doing a good service for someone was a better use of your time. What a nice thing to do Kim!

Of course, I was focused on the education part, which was when I started yelling at the TV - I am sure he did not hear me. Yes of course Mr. President, if kids are not doing well in school, changing the building, is the answer. Yes, we should let them transfer to private schools where of course things are MUCH better. Maybe you should read the Department of Education's reports on that experiment in Cleveland. Of course it would take reading!:rolleyes1

So for after the WB we can all stay at the lodge together right?:rotfl: Can you link DVC ressies to get rooms close by? Or is DLH is cool enought for the walk we could do that again,:woohoo: .

Personally I love the DLH although many say it doesn't have personality... and it doesn't have much theming compared to WDW resorts... but I still like it the best. Great pool, convenient access to everything... we usually request an upper level view of Downtown Disney (sigh -- it used to be an upper level view of the park before they installed all that stuff there....)

But you can't go wrong with the Grand Cal and if you can afford it (points are *too* bad either) and you're not here all that often, then go for it.

Good news....she called and left another message to go ahead and to the drug test/background info and that they would like to extend an offer by the end of the week. (contingent on the results of course).....:)

Yippeeee!! I'll save the wine for tomorrow night! Thanks for the good thoughts, please keep 'em coming!

:yay: :yay: :dance3: Good for you, Vanessa! I will keep the good thoughts going. Hope they make you an amazing offer!

Hey Angie and Kim . . .

(and Jordan if you are out there somewhere in the cloud)

I just found out that a conference that I can attend is in ANAHEIM this year!

We are going to look into this, and maybe go to Disneyland this year. The conference is November 4-7, and the hotels are the Disneyland Hotels. I could bring Amy and Sophia along for the weekend, and I would be free Saturday all day and Sunday night. Sophia just might have to miss maybe one day of school. ;)

Want to talk me into it?

Any possiblility of a mini-meet?

Which hotel should I book if we go?

John1

:yay: :yay: :yay: Disneyland in November! YES! I'm up for it. I have Jordan's phone number. If it works out for you to go we will call him. I know he will love to see you! If you are not paying for the room yourself, our favorite is the Disneyland hotel. More magic there we think. The Grand Californian has a beautiful lobby(much like WL), but we were less than impressed with our room the one and only time we stayed there. If you have to pay for the room yourself, then across the street at Best Western is where I would stay. Much less $$, clean, comfortable rooms, and a closer walk to the entrance to DL and DCA than the Disney hotels. Keep us posted!

DLH, not the lodge for us. However, I would say that we did not like VWL either, so we may have very different tastes. Our room at the GC had a view of the roof below us with plastic cup lids and straws on it. :sad2: It was "just a hotel room" in my opinion. The DLH has pixie dust around the top of the room, Mickey hands for faucet handles. Much more Disney, less Northwoods.

Hello everyone! Thank you for the emails checking on me. :) The kids, Mike, & I just spent alot of time together since I was off the computer. I needed the break from everything last week. They were off school on Monday so we spent the day with friends and relaxing. It's been a long time since I actually sat on the couch watching TV curled up under a nice cozy blanket and not on the computer while listening to it. :goodvibes Mike is in MS for a few days so now I don't have to worry about cooking & cleaning as much. ;)

Becka...hope that you are feeling better!

PJ...Congrats on the promotion!!!!!

Vanessa...still have my fingers & toes crossed for you.

Amy...in my prayers today.

Kim...sorry to hear about your friends. :grouphug:

BTW, PJ forgot to tell you that I LOVE the design you did with Barbosa. :thumbsup2 It looks all spooky & everything...WAY COOL! :thumbsup2 DD like it too. :cutie:

Ok, here is the thing. The Grand Californian is a nicer hotel. It has a more upscale lobby, the restaurants are a little nicer, and the grounds are nicer. BUT, if you want the atmosphere of Disneyland, you will not get it in the Californian. The soaps are cheesier at the Disneyland Hotel, the rooms are cheesier, the restaurants are more kid friendly, and it could just be the nostalgic kim talking, but it just felt like I was in disneyland all the time. The californian takes you away from all that and is very relaxing, so I guess you have to pick which one suits you better. One thing, if you can get concierge level in the disneyland hotel, you can watch the fireworks and hear the music from the concierge lounge while you drink your soda and have a cookie.
