John is right. It takes experience to even understand the manuals, and I still have trouble. Manual is my favorite mode, but.....not if you don't know about apertures and f-stops. Sports mode will be handy when in bright sun on excursions, or on the Safari Ride, for animal shots. Allows a fast shutter speed to eliminate blurring as much as possible. There has to be bright light though.

For close up people pics use the portrait mode. That makes it pretty easy . Just read the Modes part of your manual and don't stress on the rest. That way you can click it to a mode and snap the 'shutter'. There should be an icon for each mode that represents the type of photo you want to make.

John, we could do a class on board. LOL. Maybe explain composition, etc. I need a review. My pictures suck lately. LOL!

Yeah, like i said, I am trying to figure all of the shutter speed, etc stuff. Our camera isn't top of the line (not an XTI :snooty: ) but its good enough for the casual photographer...Canon Powershot A95...

I think a small "class" would be neat...just as long as its not aimed at you professionals out there...

I see all the special scene settings on our camera but there's one I know I'll need, but just can't find it...."Uninformed Spouse"...Would that be under the Sports setting (I imagine there will be some running...) :confused3

Egads! I haven't worn mascara in years and years and years. It is filth to clean out of glasses. Did I say filth, what I meant to say was
F I L T H!

ok Patsy - have a green tea and chill. ;)

I use waterproof clinique - it comes off pretty easily.

note to Karen - I got Jill's birthday daughter a really cute gift. Should I leave it in her door stocking or deliver it to the birthday party at dinner?

An 18 something girl who was shopping too helped me pick it out. after she vetoed everything the shop owner and I had picked.

I can't believe it!!!

I just called WDW again, to see if we could switch to a value resort next week knowing nothing would come up and ready to cancel and bunk with my mom...well, she found ASMusic!! So I am getting back $200 (well on my room credit, my Poly deposit covered two nights and $200 back!! Yippeeeeeee!!!!)
My reservation number stayed the same??!!! and CM Ruby, remembered me by my email address!! Anyway I am happy we are not going to stay with my mom!

This reminds me of the Crust or No Crust debate...

This looks like more to do with the John Thong issue.... :sad2:

Elaine,
I just got word back from Lamar my crusin' friend. He said he hasn't has a problem with bugs. When he does he goes with Skin So Soft.

You might want to toss the misquito netting hat question to the main board though.

Branndi - that was so nice making a special Christmas for a child. I wish in our school we were allowed to assist more in the classroom to see what is going on. You just don't really get to know the kids your kids are in school with. Our K classes of 14 have a teacher and aid and I just get the feeling that they don't really want the extra help.

One of my friends noticed that when she went in to offer reading help to a boy - he also wore the same clothes all the time. we bought him a big box of stuff - mostly from old Navy in their $1.99 sale. Clothes are so cheap these days I don't think it is always about the money - more about quality of home life. Anyway we shipped it to him but the post office didn't want to send it without a return address - then when we said why - he said that was an ok reason to not have a return address.

I hope your little friend has a wonderful Christmas again this year too.

That explains it all. When I gave up mascara (College) I couldn't afford clinique.

YIKES!!!! Not a good morning here. This is the second morning I have turned off the alarm without waking up to it. Both kids heard it & got up but I opened my eyes at 7:44!!!! UGH! I told DD that they were going to be late & didn't rush but DS insisted that he didn't want to be tardy. Somehow they got dressed, ate, I packed lunches & dropped them off with 2 minutes to spare at 8:13. I am going to have to move that alarm clock.

Perhaps she answers later, but yes.

They decorate the park...Christmas Candylane.

They also have a drive thru displayof Christmas lights...pay for a carload and just drive thru. Kinda neat.

DIS MEET KAREN?

Kim - it sounds like you had a fun time being a substitute Santa. We don't really have this - just Toys for Tots and used coat drives. Some agencies will
match you up with an individual family if you request it.

It always amazes me how much abundance there is and how much need. You would think there is a better way of making those 2 come together.

WOW! You guys were chatty last night! :chat:

We got some ice and freezing rain last night so of course all the schools are closed but the kids' daycare is open plus both of our workplaces are business as usual. We are going in together so we only have one car out and we were waiting until the sun came out. The major roads are said to be in pretty good shape but side roads are very slick. It will be an interesting commute.

The worst of the storm will develop late today. They are calling for up to a 1/2 inch of ice then followed by another 8-12 inches of snow.

Hopefully we will make it to work/school and back home again without too much trouble.
