Lisa - I would SO drive 45 minutes to a fabulous stylist!!!

The guy that cuts my hair the best has has moved to a bunch of different salons all over D.C. and Maryland. I followed him for years, then switched to someone else closer and was never as happy with the results.

I tracked him down again about a year and a half ago and now happily drive the 40 minutes (mostly traffic) to get there. Will be making the trek again next week! :goodvibes

I like it! :thumbsup2

Photobucket may not work as an image link on these boards. I know some sites have issues with this. I always use imagestation for my pics and I don't seem to have that problem.

Okay Ipod Geeks, I need a recommendation.

I have a Nano, but eventually i will probably get a video ipod.

I need a ripper -- something to get the music from my nano back onto my new laptop (originally the music loaded onto my old laptop).

Eventually I'll probably want to rip video to the video ipod.

What's the best thing to download/buy so I can take care of current and future needs?

Thanks!

Want to know the answer to this, too!

Thanks Becka,

Is Imagestation what you used for the Stealth pics?

okay - I'm back from the dead...at least it feels like I've been there. I'm wiped out! Slept all day. My tummy feels better but I still feel so naseous and dizzy.

Okay - better go get ready for 5 wild childs - 2 hours and counting!

....think I can put a sedative in their root beer?!!!

just kidding people!!!

Yes. It is also a free site and I have never had any problems with it.

.....Does your Santa wrap?

:santa: did not wrap when we were kids. Somehow that fact was forgotten the first year our kids were big enough to really know about the big guy.....and their gifts arrived wrapped. :confused3

My DB (who I would've thought was the last person on earth to care about this) was horrified. Santa's stand-in unwrapped them and Christmas was saved. :rotfl:

All of my smileys are posted on Photobucket and they work fine...

Just read this on our local news. Thought you ladies with the bad haircuts might appreciate it.

OLYMPIA - Talk about having a bad hair day.

A local woman's bad experience at an Olympia salon got way out of hand. One thing led to another, and now she could go to jail -- all over a haircut!

"It was bad, I cried when I got home," said Dana Kelly. It started Oct. 8: "I was getting ready to start a new job on Monday."

Kelly went to Audrey's in Olympia. It's a salon she says she's been using - happily - for six years. But this time, Kelly says the cut was bad, the customer service was worse and the manager wasn't interested in her complaints.

"I said, 'you know, I'm not comfortable paying for this,' " says Kelly, "and I took my credit card back from her and I walked out."

But Audrey's reported her to police.

After investigating, Olympia police cited Kelly with theft of services - punishable by a maximum of a year in jail and $5,000 fine.

"Those are kind of scary words," says Kelly.

KOMO 4 News tried to talk with the owner or manager at Audrey's, but both were unavailable.

According to the police report, the manager says she warned Kelly that she would call police.

Olympia's Prosecutor Paul Wohl can't remember ever prosecuting anyone over a haircut. But he says although the amount of money is small -- just $37 -- it's typical of the 3,000 cases they prosecute in a year. And, Wohl adds, business owners deserve action.

"It wouldn't be any different if a grocery store experienced a shoplifter, or any other business experienced a loss by theft," Wohl said.

Wohl also says there's something called a "Compromise of Misdemeanor" law where Kelly could pay restitution and then the charges would be dismissed.

But Kelly's not buying that; she says it's a matter of principle.

"I'm not going to pay it, I didn't do anything wrong," she said.

So Kelly is looking for an attorney and planning for her court date, the day before Thanksgiving.

It was like something I've never experienced in my life!!! The skies looked ominous!!

Yesterday around noon, the wind sounded eerily similar to when Hurricane Isabel hit a few years ago.

So what do you guys think of the TomKat wedding?......

It was in The Washington Post yesterday that Dan Snyder (owner of the Redskins football team) and his wife will be attending the soiree. Snyder became movie-making partners with Cruise a while back when his other studio dumped him. Tom and Katie flew out to D.C. to attend a Redskins game shortly thereafter and supposedly, the families "bonded".

(Amazing how easily you can bond when several million dollars are at stake.)

I had a great afternoon at work too! I got a new boss (my second line supervisor), met with him and first line supervisor today and he is SO AWESOME!! Oh my, he is just what this medical center needed. He wants everyone to understand what a veteran is (whoa, imagine that in a VA hospital!!), communication both with staff and patients is a priority (!!!!!! Just what I have been saying for the past 8 years!) and he looked me square in the eyes and said that we advocates (there are 3 and 1/2 of us) have done a phenomenal (yes he used that word!) job! I tell you, I have not had a senior manager acknowledge the work we do in 8 years. I was absolutely giddy by the end of the meeting, as was my first line supervisor! Now I get the next week off to absorb this, and will just keep praying that the rest of senior managers don't eat him alive!

Angie -- This guy sounds great! It would be wonderful for the Vets to have another person like you on their side!! :thumbsup2
