I refuse to be as strict as my mother.

I love her dearly but she stifled me. I was a good kid. My parents were always always always worried something would happen. There is such a thing as being over protective. My parents were that.

My inlaws were the extreme opposite. Jason and I want to try hard to find the balance in the middle.

I would lie to my parents over really stupid stuff because they were so strict. I didn't want to lie, but they needed to know EVERYTHING. I had no privacy.

I am sure you realize that Jason and I are strict with our kids. But we leave lots of room for self expression.

I know it isn't easy raising an older kid. I just hope I can find that middle ground.

My heart really goes out to all of you with children (young and older). It is a tough job! What is too strict? When does it stifle them as individuals? Also, when is it not strict enough so that they are safe. When do you reign them in so they don't grow up being so self centered and of little use to society as a whole? (God knows we have too many of those adults now!)

We raised one child and we had no idea how to do it. I am so glad he turned out to be so good. I often doubt that I had much to do with it. I tried to let him know what was right and how to interact with others. Most times when a situation came up where we had to decide yes or no ..... we had to guess. It seems to have worked.

All that you can do is the best you know how and then just love them.

Off my soapbox now. Sorry.

did you really get one?

I picked up our photo cd's yesterday so now I can format or erase or whatever 2 1g cards. I have a third that is no where near full but I am going to take and get them downloaded as well so I will have 3 cards for the trip.
Yes I really did! Trust me I have lots to hold in!!!! It is nude....I want to be able to run around with the kids on deck 6! :goodvibes :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I am really upset about leaving Carla though... :guilty: We were neighbors on deck 8. I'll be sure to visit Carla!!

Karen do you have a packing list?
I have been packing and I just made a sheet with all four of out names and then as I put something in the suitcase I wrote what it was....I haven't done this before but I forgot DH's unmentionables, socks and not enough tshirts last year...so I figured I better make sure we're covered.

I do have a packing list. A pretty extensive one. I just dust it off each trip/vacation and do an update. I'm known as the spreadsheet queen in the office.

I have spreadsheets on what spreadsheets I have!

I need to give Lisa the other ressie number now. DU said it should still be linked since it is linked with my other one that did not change. :thumbsup2 She said they are manually switching all of my other ressies. Still have to look on DCL, but she said it could take until tomorrow for everything to show.

We've done Disneyland so much that I wasn't sure I wanted to do Magic Kingdom but then I realized I'd regret it if I didn't. I think I'll love the cruise the most though. I've wanted to take a cruise since I was a little girl so this will be a dream come true. :cloud9:

I can never go to WDW and not go to MK even after all of these years. If I HAD to miss a park it would be AK (I'd be unhappy) but not MK. I always start there the first day and end there the last day.

Just call me a Hopeless Dreamer!

ok I guess I have to re-think my packing a little then. I was packing several pairs of pants. By evening, the kids don't want to be in pants? I hate air-
conditioning and always feel cold then.

elaine

We were never cold, but some people find certain rooms chilly, such as the dining rooms.

That is also the first place we head! I could never skip it either!
