I always loved Wizard Of Oz. I remember they'd show it on tv once a year and it was a highlight for me. I'd always cry when it ended because I knew I wouldn't see it again for another year.

DD was screaming that she wanted to watch that one tonight but I told her since we have the movie on tape, we will watch amazing race. LOL! I bought the movie when it came out. I was a senior in HS. My best friend & I sat up one Friday night watching it. It was a hoot watching all of the slip ups...like the wire floping the lion's tail around.

Do you guys put your kid's names on door signs? I have some cute ideas for the kids but I can't decide if it would be a stupid move or not? :confused3
Yes we do.

That's a great party :) So did you close it out already or do you still have time to decide? What do you need? The cookware and the knives are really good, but most people just get tons of gadgets... The stuff I use the most are: batter bowls, scrapers, cutting board, knives, bamboo spatulas/spoons... basic stuff. It lasts forever. Oh, and the stoneware too....
The choppers. Save my life at Thanksgiving! I love the batter bowls and scrapers too. I'd love to have the cookware.

DEAL ALERT!!!

My 33yo DS appears to still enjoy going with us. If he ever stops wanting to go I will be heart broken.
Two out of 3 of ours love it. DS and DDIL are "almost" as bad as we are. That would be Aaron's parents. DS called today and was asking about DL at New Years. I told him to sign onto these boards, gave him the web address, and ask folks on the DL threads about NY. He :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: and said "Mom, you are just trying to suck us into your cult!" Now is that any way for a young man to speak to his Mom? :confused3 I bet they sign on though. :teeth:

O.K. -- everyone else bored with my incessant laptop woes.....feel free to skip this post.

Anyone else, here's the update. BB has finally (FINALLY) resolved my computer issue with a store credit (like a gift card). I can order online or buy something in the store. They do have a Mac listed online.

I was hesitant to consider a Mac because I had one years ago that had problems :badpc: and finding software (then) was a pain. Also, DH is more an IBM-compatible kind of guy.

So, as I said in the pm to John.....Mac lovers.....convince me. ;) (Preferably break the convincing posts into many smaller ones to up our posting count at the same time!)

I don't want to start a war here or anything, so I will just tell you. My graphic arts people have only macs. My IT people only have PC's.

Yeah, when staying at a hotel with free in-room wireless... turn on the powerbook and it instantly finds the connection. No problem.

My Dell does the same thing. Are others harder to use?

I always have and will continue to do so. I have our last name on the family sign. The kids love seeing them. They are not left alone on the ship so with one of us with them at all times when they are not in the clubs I feel they are fine.

That is exactly what DH said and it makes sense. I guess I will make them each a small sign. :)

I already told you about my car not starting so you know how my day started. Well DH ended up having to go back to the doctor because he thinks he is developing an allergy to the pinkeye medicine...sound familiar? The doctor agreed and prescribed some non-sulfur drops for his eyes.

He got out of his appointment around 10:50 and he didn't want to go back to work for only 20-30 minutes or so before the lunch hour so he called me to see if I wanted to eat lunch with him. Since we don't get the opportunity to eat together without kids I really wanted to go. My WW meeting is usually over lunch on Monday but I decided to go ahead and weigh-in and then skip the meeting so I could meet Aaron. I had packed a tuna thing with some crackers and an applesauce but DH wanted to go to Chevy's (Mexican place ... I don't know how national they are). Chevy's is my FAVORITE restaurant and I am absolutely addicted to their chips and salsa. I am a salsa afficianado and their salsa is in my top 3 ever! It is fabulous!

Ack! Here I just had a fabulous weigh-in and now this on top of all the other temptations awaiting me later this week. We were seated and of course the big basket of warm chips and bowl of salsa were placed right in front of me. Somehow (I think a higher power was involved) I only ate 4 chips with some salsa!!!! It is some kind of miracle.

Ordering was a little harder because Mexican restaurants are not known for being WW friendly. I decided on the chicken quesadilla with no sour cream or guacamole. It was quite tasty and I loaded it up with that great salsa! I swear brussels sprouts and lima beans would taste great with that stuff. The quesadilla was big and while I managed to finish it off I was stuffed and I had not had anything else to eat all day. That was also amazing to me because I used to be able to polish off a quesadilla and a basket of chips and salsa and still not feel really full! It is no wonder I need to lose a ton of weight.

Anyway the hard part is always counting points when you don't know calories. I ended up looking up the points for other restaurants quesadillas and averaging the points and I came up with 20 points which seems a little high but I would rather count higher points than necessary than under. Because I had so many points at lunch that meant tonight for dinner it was a 4 point Smart Ones turkey dinner.

Becka, Yep, sounds familiar! BTW I was horrible this week. I was exhausted every day because I was at th conference from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. I ate everything to just get energy. It was horrible! I ate WAY to much!

After getting back in from lunch I settle in for what appears to be a pretty normal Monday afternoon. Then I get the e-mail. Late last year while working on state withholding taxes I discovered that our payroll system was not accurately calculating state withholding for a number of states and situations. We have been trying to get this corrected before 1/1 and I have been in charge of all the programming. Our HR VP and Director of Benefits has been working with me. Last week I pulled some data from our system that was used to send letters to approximately 500 employees in 7 states and agents letting them know that they needed to fill out a new state W-4 form and it showed was the number of federal and state exemptions that are being used to calculate their withholdings (Note: The # of exemptions being used to calcualte is often not the number of exemptions listed in the payroll system. Got all that?)

I get an e-mail from the Director of Benefits that on first glance makes me think I have made a BIG mistake and that about 2/3 of the letters that were sent out had incorrect data on them!!! OMG! OMG! OMG! How could I have done this? I was panicked and I was feeling physically ill...I mean I actually moved the trash can closer to me! I have to type up this big long e-mail detailed how I think I have made a huge mistake and I sent them the wrong data...blah, blah, blah.. The whole time I am feeling sicker and sicker. I send the e-mail to VP's and Directors and my boss, etc..

About 5 minutes after I sent the e-mail I go back into my program to see what I need to fix to get them corrected data when I get confused and I go back to read the original e-mail. Guess what? In my panic and confusion I had misunderstood the e-mail and the data I pulled was actually CORRECT! But of course by this time my previous e-mail had already gone out! ACK! I hurried to write another e-mail apologizing for my stupidity. How embarassing! I can't believe I did this still. :sad2: I am glad the data was good but I think I did some serious damage to my professional reputation. :sad2:

If I had children with me on the cruise I would put their names on the door signs. Lisa is right, when you keep up with them they will be as safe as they possibily can be.

then the LETTER - does anyone else send the letter? I sort of hate the concept but that is the reality of what time is available. I try to call people and also send the card with letter.

No letter here. I just had those pictures made into a card, they gave me the envelopes. I have a book with all my holiday card addresses and I will address them this week.
