Our Thanksgiving will be nice & quiet. I fix a turkey...was going to just do a turkey breast in the crockpot but there was a sale for .39 lb this weekend so I grabbed one today...mashed potatoes, brocolli, maybe corn, biscuits, gravy, & stuffing. DS will eat chicken tenders as usual but DD says that she will eat turkey, potatoes, & gravy again this year. IDK what I will make for desert this year....I really shouldn't make anything but they wont let me get away with that.

Why only a room for 4...what are you doing with the extra?

We're getting two rooms, one will be a "spare." The other needs the 4 beds. Dina will just squeeze in with someone.

I am having a candy treat for the kids issue. I was making up my bags and my DH said...why did you get chocolate. It will melt. Followed by....you have about 7 pounds of chocolate...you will have about 7 pounds of mushy mess. What should I do?

Should I use that for something else and get skittles or what????

I've been busy tonight with WDW Reservations (Logan was the CM and was VERY helpful).

One of my DSisterILs wants to meet us after the cruise at WDW with her DD and DD's DS(4). So I booked a room next to us and bought tickets to MVMCP on the 19th for them. It is DD's and her DS's first visit to WDW (Newbies!). It will be fun.

That sounds like a nice addition to your vacation. Getting to see it new all over again!

Oh...now I understand. We went with our friends last time. They have 3 girls. They got adjoining inside rooms and it was much cheaper than the suite.

I like the veranda. I don't splurge much, so this is a gift to DH and I.

I think we will be down at Parrot's Cay, but essentially doing the same thing!!

We did Parrot Cat last time. When DH was along, we went right to the pool and ate there. We'll have to think about this.

So.... what's on your Thanksgiving menu this year? I'm looking for some ideas -- maybe wanting to try something new.

I have so far:
Deep fried turkey (x2)
Mashed potatoes
Stuffing (Stove Top - nothing fancy)
Green bean casserole
Creamed corn
Candied yams (my in-laws usually bring... I don't care for them myself)
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie
Dinner rolls

Maybe I'll make a cheesecake too -- better yet, I'll BUY a cheesecake and not worry about baking.

It's funny, dinner is always at my house, but I don't cook it. I do the mashed potatoes and everything else is brought by the family. My uncle who just moved used to do the homemade stuffing and pumpkin pie w/ whipped cream... I've gotta call my mom tomorrow!

Yes I have. A a teen I loved scary movies but the Wizard of Oz is truly the scariest movie of all time. There is no way that is a children's movie. I tried to watch is as an adult even (thinking maybe it would be better). Nope - I had the same nightmares I had as a child for weeks.

This is one of those things that VCRs, etc have ruined for me. It was a Thanksgiving tradition to come home from gramdmom's after dinner to watch Wizard of OZ this one time of year. Now you can see it anytime... KWIM?
