LOL!
AAAHHHH!!! We must get that back!!!

I am not a big cranberry fan. I have made the cranberry relish from scratch. And I have been known to open a can of jelly and plop it in a bowl. My MIL is the only one who wants cranberries.....

I do, however, love cranberry mustard. Go figure... because I don't like regular mustard....

We have always done Topsider's for the first lunch so maybe we'll try Parrot Cay this time.
We have also always done Topsiders. I like to be outside. If it is raining or really cold this time we will try parrot cay. Otherwise we are going to Topsiders.

Oh I forgot the fried foods list. Since we get the fryer fired up for TG, I have to deep fry anything I can get my hands on. On the list this year:

Twinkies
Oreos
Shrimp Tempura
Egg Rolls
Calamari
Stuffing balls
mashed potato balls
then the turkey... (maybe I'll do the stuffing and potatoes after the turkey...)

Joy, I'd add cranberry relish to the menu, but since you're not a fan, I'd look to add something cool/fruity/fresh. (just to break up all that rich yummy stuff!)

Ok, never answered this question before,

If there is just he two of us, we will use the whole berry canned. But if we have company, I will make the cranberry sauce, with orange (relish like).

Joy, mashed and green beans, can I come to your house?

Pj

If I didn't have to go to my MIL's for Thanksgiving I'd visit for the cranberry relish. I'll have to get my DW to make me some WW style,

Ok, Wizard of Oz and The Notebook are both on, what to do!

Pj

The Notebook! :thumbsup2 The Wizard of Oz scares me. To this day it is the scariest movie I have ever seen. I have nightmares even thinking of those flying monkeys! {shudder}

Well the only thing I am cooking for T'giving is 3 apple pies to take to my parents. My Mom makes:

Roasted Turkey
Cornbread Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes
Giblet Gravy
Rolls/Butter
Green Beans with Bacon
Corn
Green Lettuce Salad
Pistachio Salad
Pies (Apple, Pecan, Pumpkin)

ETA: Canned Cranberry Sauce :thumbsup2

You've not seen many scary movies have you? The ones I hate are Exorcist (all of them) and other demon movies.

Joy - Cute costumes! I recognize the Power Ranger one! ;)

Yes I have. A a teen I loved scary movies but the Wizard of Oz is truly the scariest movie of all time. There is no way that is a children's movie. I tried to watch is as an adult even (thinking maybe it would be better). Nope - I had the same nightmares I had as a child for weeks. :sad2:

So.... what's on your Thanksgiving menu this year? I'm looking for some ideas -- maybe wanting to try something new.

I have so far:
Deep fried turkey (x2)
Mashed potatoes
Stuffing (Stove Top - nothing fancy)
Green bean casserole
Creamed corn
Candied yams (my in-laws usually bring... I don't care for them myself)
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie
Dinner rolls

Maybe I'll make a cheesecake too -- better yet, I'll BUY a cheesecake and not worry about baking.
This year we have 12 adults and 7 children (all children are under 4) We will be at my house....here is my menu:

Turkey-I will baste it every 30 min for the whole cooking time. My whole family says they love my turkey best
Ham - my mom will bring this because I can't fit 2 meats in my oven
Mashed potatos (these are for me too!)
Homemade potato filling ( my husbands memmy (grandmother) loves these)
Candied Sweet Potatos (yes that is alot of potatoes I please everyone!!) (these are for my mom)
Green beans - I don't know who these are for...maybe this is what I should ditch!!!!
Corn - ummm....who doesn't like corn!
Broccoli with Cheese - the favorite of my, DH, DS, and DDad
Cauliflour - I think...not sure yet
Onion Casserole - my dad loves it!
Cranberry sauce from a can - my FIL loves it but only from a can..whatever!
Dinner Rolls
Turkey (not giblet...I throw those out..gross) Gravy
Ham Gravy
DESSERT
Pumpkin Roll
Cheese Cake - made by me
Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Icing(my mom will bring this...I asked her to bring it yum)
Brownies (the only thing my brothers wife can make...she will bring them)
Cookies (my husbands sister will bring them)

Do you really like the fried turkey? I have cooked every Thanksgiving but one. My BIL made a fried turkey and he over cooked it...it was so dry and crunchy! Now I have all of our Thanksgiving dinners!

Flying monkees can be very frightening!

We like forward but the laundry is more towards aft.

It wasn't as much a question to be near the laundry, just didn't want to be across from it. :smooth:

As for more forward or aft, I like mid, but don't relly care too much. I'll be taking something this trip as I got sick last time. What I really needed to know was, do I wasnt to be that close to everyone! :rotfl: I would need to pack bat protectant and I don't know if I have the room. ;)

Speaking of mid-day redecorating :rolleyes1 it sounds like Caroline is going to have an empty room for the cruise. Perhaps she is going to start renting it out? :lmao:

Now THAT is an idea!! :Pinkbounc I can rent it by the week, the day, or even the hour.
