I hate budget math...It is just depressing. Too many negative numbers! :rotfl2:

hop on over to our car.
I'll be the crazy chic hanging out the sunroof of a white Explorer with Gator tags (of course) waving around a lime green Mickey head poster!

i would think no on jet skis and CC cruise or Jeeps

Lisa might know about ruins tour.... I'm sure they are making a decent amount from us directly contracting instead of going through DCL

ok this is a neurotic question -

but can any experienced cruiser give me what your typical day at sea is.
It would be helpful if PJ, Angie and some families chimed in so I could see the different perspectives - single, w/kids, empty nesters etc.

How do you start your day? what do you like to do during the day - review navigators, wing it? etc.

In what subtle ways is it different from a port day. Like I know I will not be doing .........

just curious. no experience here.

thanks so much.

elaine

Both with and without kids we check the navigators to see what is going on. Sea days are my absolute favorite. Slow pace, sleep in, have a sit down breakfast at Lumiere's, take part in activities that interest us (ship tour, etc), visit the shops, coffee and skipbo at Cove Cafe, sample the drink of the day on deck 9 or 10, test out the loungers on deck 4, and most importantly spend some time in the Rainforest. With kids some of these things take coordination with things they are interested in at the clubs, or shifts if they don't want to go to the clubs.

:goodvibes :sunny: Thank you for making me think of all these things this morning. :thumbsup2

for those of you with young boy cruisers - Giona is almost 6 (in Jan)

what is the most important things to remember to bring -

or I wouldn't want to be caught on a Bahamian island without.....

I wasn't planning on bringing a lot in the toy category because I think there will be very full days. Is this a mistake? just some things for the dining room?

I just need a brain dump. LOL.

elaine
We have never brought toys for the kids. The youngest we have sailed with was Aaron when he had just turned 4, so no toddler exerience here. None of them ever got bored or yearned for toys left at home. Sand toys are probably the only thing other than the obvious clothes, pirate gear, etc that I can think of. We ordered a sand bucket basket from Shirley for Aaron this time so we don't have to try to fit it into suitcase. I'm going to try to convince him to leave it for other children at CC since there are not alot of beaches in AZ. ;) We will see....

plus I am trying to hit 1,000 personal posts - all on this board since August - that's quite a lot.
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I have similiar life goals, Elaine! :lmao: OY what this board has done to us! ;)

another thought ....

we adopt the Walton family way of waking up and going to bed and acknowledge each member of the DIS family in separate posts.
Elaine, you are cracking me up this morning! :rotfl2: :lmao:

I think we will wing it mostly, except for trying to get a few Princess photo ops.

Mostly, the kids will want to play in the pool, I'm pretty sure. They will also love the club, as they are constantly bugging us to go to the gym every day so they can go to the kids club.

We won't be bringing many toys as we will probably pick up some at WDW the week before. DS just needs his GameBoy to keep himself entertained, and DD likes to draw and color. We will pick up sand toys at WDW (staying at BCV) and bring them with us to the ship. Leaving them at CC is a great idea as I am already worried about suitcase space.

so anyone who has one of those neurotic thoughts like I am sure I am going to forget XXXXXX.

Post it here.

up our post count.
Nightmare I already had was the lime green shirts and suits. I think BC for Aaron and our Passports would be way up there!

elaineteresa said:
this way the entire DIS group can also check up on you once we board - like we could say hey Brandi did you forget to bring hair clips?

KWIM?
Or maybe we can all pack extra of the stuff others worry about forgetting. Like, "Brandi, I have extra hair clips if you forgot them." "Angie, extra lime green shirts here incase you forgot yours." :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Today is a busy day at work with a training session so I might not get to do any posting during work.

Everyone have a good day.:thumbsup2
WHAT!!!??? :scared1: Everyone absolutely has to commit to posting at work or Elaine's plan will not work! We all need to keep our prioities straight! ;)

so Becka, if we have 15 regular posters (approx.) and 30 days left to get to 60,000 - how many would we need to post per day so that we hit it.

we can have John1 develop a contract to all commit to 20 posts per day. Just quickly ballparking it with no other factors thrown in there - we should just about make it by cruise day.
