DD is working on cleaning her room. You'd think it was a fate worse than death (of course when I was a kid I felt the same way and my mother would eventually become exasperated with me and clean it for me)

Anyway DD just said "How about if we worked in ****s?" I said shif ts, there is an f in there - S-H-I-F-T-S,okay?

Time for me to go see if I can rustle up some breakfast. Pancakes sound pretty good. Maybe I'll fry an egg to throw on top. Yummy!

Oh Becka - you changed the picture for your daughter. WOW they have changed so much. Both still incredibly cute.

Yes. That last picture was a few months old and she has changed so I figured it was time to switch out her picture.

Hi guys. I'll go back and catch up to the 50 or so pages that I'm behind...but in the meantime, I'll give you a recap on my life...

...work stinks....60-70 hour weeks...really killing me lately....
....football banquet last night...lots of fun but 4 and a half hours...come on people!!!

...of course nothing was organized so I jumped in to work the admissions table and then jumped in to help sell and organize the spirit table (sweatshirts and stuff)

...boys are at the "super bowl" and from the looks of my house when I walked in after church...I'd say they had some trouble finding all their stuff.

...why do DH wait till the last minute to get stuff together...they find time for fantasy football...catching up on ESPN, reading the sports section and even making themselves a hearty breakfast....and then trash the house when looking for stuff b/c you're late to a game? :sad2:

....okay moving on....

...I am so behind in cruise prep stuff...no costumes ready...packing consists of throwing stuff in the guest room to be sorted out later.

....I am finished Christmas shopping for my parents and my kids...kinda/sorta....I'll pick up a few more things. I really need to get stuff for my nieces and nephews before I leave on the cruise otherwise they won't get anything.

....like I said to my best friend at the banquet last night...I haven't taken a deep breathe all day!

...okay...breathe....breathe!!!

now I'll go catch up...

hope everyone is well.

warning....catchup posts ahead!!!

Didn't you know Becka that most men CAN't listen to a woman? They are physically and mentally unable to comprehend when someone else is right. ;)

Hmm....guess there will be some interesting responses to this one....can't wait to keep reading..

I am thinking on this bulletin board of using the letters in DS's name to show things that he loves and then have a few pictures that correspond. I can't get his big loves in just starting with the letters in his first name so I will have to scatter them. So far this is what I have.

disNey (picture of Nathan at WDW/Cruise)
Allie (picture of him with Allie)
T-rex (picture of Nathan in Dinoworld at AK or just playing with his dinosaurs)
Hakuna matata (picture of Nathan in his Lion King shirt)
animAls (picture of him at the zoo)
power raNgers (picture of him dressed as a PR for Halloween)

What do you guys think? Each letter a different color that he picks out?

Becka you are too creative.

i am so mad right now...(i could spit) :furious:

DD's former GS leader sent us an e-mail yesterday.....

(some background first)
DD sold over 100 boxes of cookies last year for the troop.
Around $50 in profit from DD's sales alone.
The troop leader never planned any activity to use the money from the sale.
Then the leader with no notice disbanded the troop in June...
Finally the leader sends an email out of the blue saying the money will be used to take the girls to lunch and a movie and SHE PICKED THE DAY....

Nice planning...

Well she picks this coming Tuesday during the afternoon....(kids have off)
But DD has riding lessons and works on Tuesdays... Even if she missed her lesson, it's too soon to get a worker to fill in for her...

So now my DD gets NONE of the profit from all the cookies she sold....

(but even if she did go...Whoopie...She makes the troop $50 in profit... and then gets a what $10 meal and $7.00 movie ticket.... BIG WHOOP.....)

I so want to tell that woman off... How dare she keep all that money!!!!!
Or I guess the other girls are getting a free ride off of devon's profits...

:furious: MUST :furious: CONTROL :furious: URGE :furious: TO :furious: FLATTEN :furious: TIRES :furious:

Kristina that isn't right at all. ARe they starting up another troop and can't the money be transferred over there? Some people just don't think at all.

I was thinking the same thing. Mine are the same way...SCARY!
There are almost no pictures of me with the kids as newborns ... then again, there are almost no pictures of me since I'm the camera geek!

Tomorrow morning is Sunday School Election of Officers!!!! I am nervous. Strange feeling!!!! I may need some pixie dust!!!

Brandi - I've been thinking about you....hopefully there will be an update in the next few pages. Fingers crossed that everything went okay.

And on the political side...

....went to church today...had to serve as an Extraordinary Minister....after communion, our priest made an announcement that a political candidate had "tresspassed" on church property to leave propaganda on everyone's car. I thought for sure it would be some liberal candidate that the church would never support.....here it was the conservative...but our priest believes that what the candiidate did was wrong...even if his political position is closest to the Catholic Church so he got a little lecture in front of our congregation. It was very interstesting to go out and see which candidate left their stuff.

My friend sent me this in an e-mail. I am sharing it with you folks.

I'm not sure who wrote this but the message is incredible! This is

worth passing on, printing, framing and applying to most if not all

of it.

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9 Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
17. You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
18. A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second
one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take
no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years,
will this matter?"
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your family will.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you
did or didn't do.
35. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
38. Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,
we'd grab ours back.
41. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
42. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
43. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
44. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
45. The best is yet to come.
46. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
47. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
48. If you don't ask, you don't get.
49. Yield.
50. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Thanks for sharing that Brandi....I liked it!

Hi Karen!

Have fun catching up! :)

DH is getting ready to go to his game but it will be a little short today because we have to go pick up the cow for our freezer. Moo! :)

The kids have had lunch already (leftover pizza - also in my reportoire. ;) ). Hopefully DD will go down for her nap in a few minutes and hopefully DS will calm down a little this afternoon.

I need to get a little housework done and get some chicken marinating for dinner. I hope to convince DH to grill it when we get home.
