We will be heading out to the baby shower in a couple of hours. It is a 2 hour drive each way, :drive: on a good day, and it is pouring rain today :umbrella: so we need to allow a little extra time. :hourglass

Have a good time and be careful out there! :cool1:

Nice Carolnie,

Right after I helped you get to that pirate post, I get to read this!

Oh well, guess I'll just go and crawl back to my safehouse.

I did leave a little wiggle room and said MOST men. ;) While few, there are exceptions.

She feels good about the test (and now it's not hanging over her head!) At the parents' meeting, they said they hope to have scholarship decisions by "early December" and that they will need a "yes" on scholarship offers by Dec. 15 or they will offer to the next candidate on the list. Well if DD is offered a scholarship I hope they tell us by Dec 8... I can't imagine how awful it would be to miss out on a scholarship because we were cruising and did not hear about it!!!!
That would be a nightmare!!!!!

I would definately let them know about this!

Hey Brandi,
Tell them that you have the votes of dozens of crazy people from the internet; I'm sure that will guarantee your election :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Off to a B-day party. Miniature golfing no less! :faint: The sun is shining, but the air is very nippy after a few minutes.

I've already talked to someone from admissions and the president of the school and said that we will be out of the country that week. The admissions person said to call on the 8th if we have not heard anything. (It's not that I expect a scholarship, but it would be terrible to miss out on one!) I have to think that any scholarship offers would be made by the 8th so that girls and their parents would have a week to make the decision. While this is the only private school that DD is considering, many of the kids in this area apply to a number of high schools and would be making a choice.

Try not to freeze out there!!! I would hate to be out today!

Busy past few days, so just now catching up. :surfweb:

Our boys had an overnight camping trip last night with their church youth group. Dads & sons. Nice in theory, but it got down to 20 degrees overnight here. Earlier in the week, we had temps in the 70's. They're on their way home now.....no one froze! :thumbsup2

Brandi -- Good luck tomorrow!! :goodvibes

You all may have talked about this before.....but, is there any plan to have a DIS kids get-together early in the cruise? I know we'll have the sailaway time, but sometimes the kids can be a bit shy at those. :confused3

My friend sent me this in an e-mail. I am sharing it with you folks.

I'm not sure who wrote this but the message is incredible! This is

worth passing on, printing, framing and applying to most if not all

of it.

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9 Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
17. You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
18. A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second
one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take
no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years,
will this matter?"
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your family will.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you
did or didn't do.
35. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
38. Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,
we'd grab ours back.
41. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
42. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
43. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
44. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
45. The best is yet to come.
46. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
47. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
48. If you don't ask, you don't get.
49. Yield.
50. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Needed to read this today! :thumbsup2

21 ~ I have always done that...I watched my family NEVER do that....I vowed I always would!

23 ~ yes, yes YES!

24 ~ this could be argued.

32 ~ firm believer!

45 ~ always!

I have been busy busy today. You can finally see the floor in the girls room. John woke me up to a flat tire..so he had to use my car. I was BOUND to the house/neighborhood today. I have really started packing as well. Watched the Gator game and now have the LSU ~ UT game I am HIGHLY interested in the winner.....SEC Champ game decision making time.

The pool and spa heater are on, girls have not had a nap, hoping for early bed time for some ~ well. I am also listening to Kelli Pickler, I have to admit, it sounds nothing like her...I actually like it especially "Things that never cross a Man's mind". I'm on song 6 and I have actually been able to listen to each one fully, as in sit through! I loved her audition song and hated her most of the AI season.

I have enough leftovers of my shrimp in love dinner for a party of six...but the girls want Batman soup and I was thinking of making chicken smothered pierogies......but really want some spicy tuna sushi....hmmm.....

Pictures speak louder than words.

Giona also gets excited about this but no one has his spelling. He also tells me he doesn't want to get swallowed by a whale. ;)

There are lots of Nathan's around the NYC area because it is often given to Jewish males.
I still get tickled to meet another "Patsy". But I think Ginoa will always have me beat.
