Our school also tests with diebels. Our teachers all think it is a joke! There is not one of them that teaches to it. They are forced to test with it but they teach to read the same way, by helping give the students a love of reading. Actually, most teachers call it "dribbles" it is such a useless test!
I was waiting for the teacher to weigh in there. I have a funny diebels story. Last year DD's K teacher shared with me her comment while being tested on the diebels "These are all nonsense words - you know I can say them but they don't mean anything. This is silly isn't it?"

Off to work; then watching a neighbor's baby. After school today the pumpkins are turning into jack o lanterns! OOOOOOOOOO!
Have a great day, everyone!

I am in pinkeye H*LL!!!! :furious:

Allie seems to be over them, Nathan still has a few more days of the drops and with each dose he becomes less cooperative and then about 1 AM this morning DH wakes up and tells me he has pinkeye now too! He is home today and will be making the trip to the doctor to get his own drops. I feel like this is never going to end! :(

On a brighter note we only have 40 more days until the cruise!!! :woohoo: It cannot get here soon enough!

I believe DS will be wanting to join the DIS kid dance party. When he saw the planning video it talked about the "family nightclub" and the family dances and DS thought that was something he was really interested in. :cool1:

How did diebels come to be anyway? IS this core for all schools now? I'll have to google it.

We also use the Wilson reading system. I've heard the teachers have found it very helpful and have seen a difference by the kids get to 2nd grade with their reading.

There appear to be so many concepts out there it will be interesting what my 2 1/2 year nephew learns when he gets to school.

Oh Becka, :grouphug: Hang in there with the countdown mantra "only 40 more days, only 40 more days, only 40 more days..."

How can I want to cruise on a 7 day in 2008 when I have no clue how I'll do on this 7 day? I still want to though....

Okay - off to work - I've got a lot to accomplish today.

When I read "blazing speed running" I thought you were going to wear a red speedo!!! I thought....ah no ah no!!! I do not want to see running men in speedo's!!!! Then I realized you would be running fast!
oops.gif

No NO NO Speedo here!

25 years ago I had one - I used to keep it around as a joke.

Not even a Spanx Speedo would help now!

I had to sign back on for this one. Spanx is at this moment calling their lawyers to copyright "Spanx Speedo"

......Hey, does the tide pen work well?

Is Regis the King??

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Of course it works well!
Just lightly press the end of the Tide Gel Pen to the stained area, to release the stain remover, color out the stain, let it dry (which will take about 10 minutes:) ) :thumbsup2

Stain is gone...and ummm...I need that pen back.

The Tide people gave me just one.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Have fun!

My hands are so dry and yucky from all the hand washing and Purell. They feel horrible but it is better than pinkeye. I asked Aaron this morning if his hands felt that way and he said they did not. I then told him that was why he had pinkeye. My hands may never recover. :sad2:

OMG! We have our very own celebrity sighting on our thread!!! How are you Kelly? I didn't realize you were cruising with us. I can't believe I finally get to "meet" you and here I am talking about my yucky hands. I am so embarassed..... :faint:

Are you bringing that hunky husband of yours on the cruise? Whatever you do just leave Regis at home....he is too grumpy for this group! :rotfl:

All I have to say is you better not think you get a break because you are a celebrity. You have to wear the lime green shirt like everyone else, get a pirate flag, salute our CJS, wear Spanx on formal night, learn the official pirate greeting, race to the beach, bring your own fluff, rent your own jeep at Coz (will you be in Coconuts book?), see if there is room for another bus for the ruins tour, bow to our queen and supreme ruler Lisa, and most importantly, honor the big dancing banana!

Oh, and please do leave that Notre Dame loving grumpy Regis at home.

I hope your hands heal soon. I also hope that you don't catch that horrible disease!

That is my son reading books in bed to his baby sister.

That will go on my DD's "B" page of her ABC book:

The title will be
