soccer is finally over DS's team won the "President's Cup". they defeated a 1st place team. it went into 2 ten minute overtime quarters tied at 1. we scored in the 1st OT and held them throughout the rest. the kids were so excited. the parent's from the other team were so harsh to their kids. they have been together for a long time while we are a new team this year. they kept telling their kids that they weren't playing hard enough and needed to pick up the pace of the game. on kid fell down three times during the game. he had been on my DH's team for several years and was always falling down crying. he went down during the OT & all his father said was "get up & get off the field now!!!" I'm afraid that his evening will not be very good. there was also a mother standing behind me who had the worst voice I have ever heard. she kept screaming and it sounded like someone was runnign their finger nails over the chalkboard.

Congrats to DS team!!!! When I was an umpire for little league, I kicked parents out for that kind of behavior. This is supposed to be fun!

Yup,

In a couple of weeks we will all be getting ours. Better safe than sorry. We provide them at work free to everyone, and I just wish more would take advantage of the opportunity.

Becka, those are great zoo pictures and I enjoyed the commentary! I thought Boo at the Zoo meant the kids wore costumes? Glad we didn't end up going as my kids would have been dressed in their Chronicles of Narnia suits, LOL.

primarily allergies, also DH doesn't like dogs.

There are some non-shedding hypo-allergenic breeds. Our labradoodle does not shed much. She does not seem to have any negative impact on Sophia or I. She can be a real pain (really still a big puppy) but Sophia really loves her.As to not liking dogs though, no easy cure for that. Some people I know HATE any animal in a house.

Weather here is terible also. Rainy and very windy. John and Alex are at the big footbal game today. It is a high school game and a huge deal. It is a tradition and over 100 years old Several years ago Sports Ill. did a big story on the game, cover and everything!!

Actually the weather here is very weird.... Raining one minute with hail and thunder and lightening and now I look out and it is snowing!! The wind is terrible!! Another crack of thunder with the snow!!!!

Crazy son and I were out in this. Being absolutely PELTED by ice, and then thunder claps. Then the sun comes out - then it starts raining in sheets. Then it was snowing, then the sun would come out again. All the while, about 40mph winds. We could not even watch the band do the National Anthem as we had to cover our faces from the ice pelting. It was the craziest weather I have EVER watched a football game in, and we lost 10-7. LOUSY, Miserable day.

Before I get started catching up here I have to thank Miss T. Bell for her package. DD was absolutely besides herself!!!! You should have seen her show DH what she got in the mail. They arrived yesterday.

I thought those were pickled (not deviled) eggs . . .

Around here, deviled eggs are hard boiled, but in half, the yolk taken out and mixed with some mustard and paprika stuff and then put back.

Is this another pot pie thing?
