Hi all - it is getting closer and I can not wait - We leave on Wed the 1st and do the MVMCP I think on Thurs - I have the tickets but forget if it is Thurs or Friday - anyway FE are done and I am now starting to cute my magnets for the door - got clothes ready for my 7yr dd but nothing else - I so need to get ready! I did put the garland and lights up on all the stairway railings and the one fake tree is up - not decorated yet - that will be next weekend and then we will get the real tress when we come home. I plan on doing more next weekend as long as I pack some during the week!

Does anyone know where I can order a cabanna for Castway - I mentioned it to my hubby and in his words - "I think we are worth it" - spoken like a true man...:lmao: - anyway I looked but couldn't find it anywhere. Anyone???

Thanks and see you all soon!!!

Stacey

Hi again. Got a question about boarding procedures. I'm thinking about dropping my wife and kids off first at the port and then going to return the rental. Will they let them onto the ship without me or do we all need to enter as a group?

Or alternately, can I park the car at the terminal, check in together with them, and then leave the ship again to go return the car?

Thanks!

Val- the same thing happened to Cj and Rick here. With my son I went to pack his clothes with him and found out his polo shirts, shoes and his suit were all too small! He knew his beloved converse were too small but said he didn't want to cut into the cruise $. Translation he didn't want to do anything to jeopardize his scuba on St john ;) we hit mr Mac last week for the suit, found new converse and polos tonight. As for Rick, my weight loss has rubbed off. He's down 35 lbs and thought his suit would still fit. Silly man. He looked so silly I got the giggles. Thankfully men's warehouse will fix it. Hope the rest of the week goes smoothly for everyone. We got our Fe gifts done while watching our beloved Utes get stomped by the Irish- darn those leprechauns anyway. I'm afraid ours aren't fancy though. Just something yummy from Utah. There seems to be such a variety.

Take care all,
Steph

yes you can drop your family off at the port and return the rental car... give your wife all the cruise documents and your passport. You just keep your drivers license, so you can get through security.
We did this last cruise and it worked out great. I took the kids and got our boarding number, then John came and met us in the terminal.

Got back Sunday from a great scrapbooking weekend in Ocean City. Just what I needed to get a break and breather from the day to day stuff. Now I am full steam ahead with cruise stuff. About 1/3 of stuff is packed and the fish extenders are being mailed in the am. 2 and 1/2 weeks should be enough to get there in time. Getting excited. Sounds like alot of our kids had growth spurts lately. Ryan did over the summer and we donated about 2 large bags of clothes. We do need to get him a suit for the cruise. Hope everyone has a great week.

Hi all

I want to go to the MVMCP the night prior to the cruise (anyone else?) I've yet to purchase the tickets because I worry about the weather...I should just buy them already:confused:

We are planning on going to MVMCP on Friday night - we land about 4:30 and will check in and head right over!! Sorry to hear about your FE's - that is terrible, but so nice that you didn't get mad at your Mom!

Gail

And to donaldsdoll - You now have an asterisk! Thanks!

Well back to the drawing board:headache: Mom in all her good intentions was over this wk. I had a bunch of bags I put aside for good will (emptying closets and drwers), things that also needed to go to garbage (which was coming that day) Welllll, mommy dear seperated the bags and brought some to the curb and a hr or so later sanitation came and took it...guess what was in 2 of those bags...my FE goodies!!! ....
OMG! I can only imagine how your mom and you and the entire family must be feeling. Yikes! That sounds exactly like something MY mother would do - trying to help but causing a disaster of sorts. I'm afraid I would never manage to be as understanding as you until much, much later after time to accept that it isn't the end of the world. I'm too much of a Type A personality! ;)

The things on that list that I usually bring are hair dryer (and not always), ziploc bags (nearly EVERYTHING is packed in ziploc bags!), nail file, and air fresheners (2 adjustable Renuzit solids).

I don't bring a night light as such. I have one of those very bright reading lights on a lanyard. I bring that instead and keep it on the nightstand overnight. Then I can hang it around my neck if I get up in the middle of the night, and the light goes with me. Also if the ship's generators fail so no electricity, I still have light. In all my cruises that only happened once though and was a brief outage. ;)

I'm with you there! 17 days left till I fly outta Chicago!

I am sooooooooo not ready. Have to get things started this weekend. I do have an under the bed box where I keep misc. cruise items, so that is easy. Making lists regarding clothing. The hard part will be cutting down on shoes. I like shoes. ;) My husband takes care of his own packing. Yikes we leave in 14 days and I still have to do Thanksgiving, Christmas decorating, and our daughter's birthday. I will need the four day Thanksgiving weekend.
